So about 2/3 of the way through this story, I actually stopped and said (out loud and to... I guess my computer?) "God you're a good writer" (which is btw, directed to you, not at my computer for the record) So fantastically woven, and the pasta being ordinary and Jim and Pam sorta being ordinary too... perfection!

Author's Response: Wow, how flattered am I to have made you talk to your computer? (Now, if you say it answered, I'm going to start worrying!) And yeah, absolutely - ordinary doesn't have to mean boring ;-) I like 'woven' too, because I do kind of think of writing stories as trying to weave all these different threads and ideas together. Thank you so much, StarryDreamer!

Divine!  Just simply divine.  I'm a big fan of love letters and it's a shame that the advent of the email has pretty much made them obsolete.

I would have just loved to have read Jim's letter, but it was equally fitting that you didn't allow us to peak in.

Author's Response: Divine? Wow! And, yeah, as I said below, I wanted this to be more internal, just his thoughts about her, why he wanted to commit them to paper forever, etc. rather than literally showing the letter - just as you noted: that's just for Pam to see. And, could I be any cornier? LOL. Thanks so much StarryDreamer for the lovely review.

St. Jim of Irish Spring? Classic!  As always colette, your stuff is the thing with which romance is crafted from!  Can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Glad you liked that nutty name...wondered if it would make sense to anyone but me, LOL. Thanks so much, StarryDreamer...shouldn't be too long before a couple more are fully cooked.

So good!  You know exactly how to write blissful Jim and Pam.  It's absolutely euphoric.  Beautiful, as always.

Author's Response: Euphoric? I like that. Thanks so much StarryDreamer - always happy when you liked something I wrote ;-)

You know I think I've missed so many updates of this amazing story/collection of yours.  I'm duelly ashamed.  It's every bit as wonderful as I remember.  Your writing as fluid and... well, quite frankly, magical as ever.  You literally paint Pam and Jim and their love.  And I have to say that it certainly fills the void that the show leaves in terms of the Jam life. So beautiful, so wonderful. Such talent!

Author's Response: Hey, you! And now I'm cyber blushing - you are far too generous, but I'm thrilled you liked these so much. Also, it's always such a bonus gift to get a review on a story you finished a while ago...nice to know they have a shelf life beyond the 'Most Recent' page, lol. Thanks so much, StarryDreamer!

I hadn't realized that Breathe In, Breathe Out was the inspiration to your fic.  That video is just beautiful and it's completely amazingly fitting in connection to your chapter.  I absolutely lovd the ending... even though I think you're going multichapter-- I love the conclusion you've created.  That the past is the past and they are moving forward.  [me banging on the keyboard] Listen up!  It's awesome and beautiful and that kiss... oh me!  Loved it!

Author's Response:

Yes - and I have you to thank for directing me to it!  Heh heh, you and the keyboard.... :o)

Thansk for everything!

The comparison between the old Jim and new Jim was so perfect.  It's so very nice to have new Jim, who's so in love with Pam and recognizes all they've been through and charishes every moment.  And that end scene? Wowza.

Author's Response:

You know, I hadn't thought about it like that.  :o) You're so on it, as always, I swear.  And thank you, BTW, for the invaluable beta help (and the awesome Scranton package -- eeee!)

You rock!

Gosh!!!  So heartbreaking so many ways, but oh so wonderful in other was. I really love your recap of the Merger.  I just watched this episode the other day and you really do a fantastic job of articulating the tumultuous feelings that Jim is going through in that moment.  And the Pam POV is just as fabulous.  Win-win-win!!

This? This is beautiful.  I'm amazed that you'd squirreled this away!  I loved the callback to my favourite story (so awesome) and the incredible senstive moments they share are poignant and so vividly real.  Beautiful!!

Author's Response:

The scary thing is that I have no recollection of when I wrote it!  (I'd suspect some time shortly after the premiere...)  So glad you liked it -- particularly because I was a doofus and posted it before running it past you, my trusty beta, LOL.  :o)

Thanks for reviewing!

I still can't get over how amazing the description of the snow is at the start of your chapter. And the returning to the Booze Cruise moments... just breathtaking. Pam's internal conflict is very real and her Jim obsession seems to be hotly brewing... ;-)

You can definitely sense the building tension.  I love the flirtation between them outside the car.  And Jim brought her a sweater?  Of course he did.  *sigh* He is perfect, isn't he?? ;-)

Author's Response: Yes, I believe he's about the closest thing to perfect that exists.  (And with that I shall sigh right along with you....) I'd write more, but I'm too busy trying to eat my way out of the chocolate avalanche you sent me.  ;oD (LOVE it.)

Well, I'll be.  Damn.  You really took my advice and ran with it!  *fans self*  Damn.  I loved how you played with the symbolism of the seat belt-- it really does seem like an indicator of what she was facing.  And the last line was haunting.  Having her running to the house she shares with Roy?  Just haunting. Bravo!

Author's Response:

Heh - yes indeed, I took your advice (and I think more than one reader was grateful to you for prodding me, LOL).  I have no idea where the seatbelt thing came from, actually, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked it as a metaphor.

You rock, as usual!

You'll be getting a long-winded email from me shortly.  Am finally making my way through the chapters I missed when I was in FL.  The Jim lovefest continues.  Why can't he be MY boyfriend? *sigh*

Author's Response: And you'll be getting one back from me eventually, I swear.  :o) I'm telling you -- if one of us could figure out a way to clone Jim Halpert, the world would be a happier place.  Sigh indeed.

Oh, Pam.  Her leaving Roy behind is completely heartbreaking, but I thought you made the event subtle yet realistic.  I'm excited to see where you take the Jim/Pam relationship next in the story.

Author's Response: So glad you liked it -- it was hard and slightly terrifying to write.  :o)

I caught your little, itty bitty sentence where you remark that Michael doesn't notice the lies between Jim and Pam.  It was so perfectly placed, and just incredibly phrased: completely summed up exactly what has been going on with them in the past few chapters.  I think you don't give yourself enough credit-- I don't think that you glossed over the Roy/Pam stuff at all.  In fact it was very much like an average episode-- leaving the viewer aparty to only that which one needs to know.  Pam living in the hotel room is enough for the reader to understand what the past few weeks (days?) have been like for Pam. And I know that I certainly just imagined some grand conversation having taken place during one of those drunken calls. Anyway, a great "in between" chapter (is that what they're called? LOL).  I'm curious how you are going to have Pam (or Jim?) make the next move and so chapters like this are torture (in a good way!) because they make us WANT MORE. Good thing Mr. g7 is going out of town. The rest of us always benefit ;-)

Author's Response: You are too kind, my friend, too kind -- saying this is like an episode?  Wow.  High praise indeed. :o) Thanks so much!!

Crazy beginning.  Now you just need to write the real thing. Seriously. Do it. (TWSS)

Heh - must go check my email.  I know I'm pitiful for having never IM'd.... Shut it or I'll with hold the smut.  LOL.

Thanks for reviewing!

I love that being with Jim has awoken her inner-images.  You certainly demonstrate that she seems to have likewise woken her artistic side as well.  It's interesting that she was weakened artistically while with Roy.  Nice addition, very fitting to the characters. Their conversation about wine was just so them. Loved it!  And that cooking scene?  Duuuuude.  It didn't help matters that people in my house SUCK and kept calling me away from the chapter.  So freaking good!!!  Very steamy... needing a cold shower now. Thanks for that ;-)

Author's Response:

Yeah, I definitely think that Roy stifled that artistic side of her, while Jim would somehow (without even knowing it or consciously trying to do so) nurture it.  And damn those people in your house!  :o)

Thanks for revieiwng & for the help w/ the next chapter!

Damn. How do you do it?  How do you write such perfectly romantic scenes?  Like, seriously.  You should write a book about it. LOL And that line about running 4 way stops still cracks me up.

I love, love, LOVE the addition you made to the end. Having Jim tackle her in the hallway? Glorious.  And the kicking Ryan's ass in subtext? Even more glorious.

Aw! Sooo good!  I found a recommendation at TWoP for this story and generally I am leery about one-off recommendations, but I was desperate for an engagement fic. Summary:

This will be a series of self-contained chapters (oneshots) exploring various "what ifs" pertaining to episodes spanning seasons one through three. Each chapter will examine how things would've gone differently if either Jim or Pam had responded to a given situation the way that (most) fans had wanted or almost expected them to.

For example, the first chapter focuses on how things would've happened differently if Jim had confessed during those twenty-seven seconds of silence on the booze cruise when we were all holding our breath and hoping he would.

Among the other chapters I have mapped out: What if all the reminders of Jim in "Gay Witch Hunt" had provoked not a small, sad smile from Pam at the end of the episode, but rather, had motivated her to take action -- drive to Stamford to see him for the first time in four months? Or what if Jim had responded to Pam's text in "Diwali" via a post-Jagermeister phone call? What if Jim had walked in on Pam crying at the end of "Back From Vacation"? (...You get the idea.)

Again, though, each chapter will be confined to an episode, so it will essentially be a series of oneshots that are unrelated to each other.

The "Alert" for your newest story has been sitting in my inbox for what seems like forever, waiting for me to read.  And finally (!!) I'm catching up!  I love that you capture the scenes around Pam and Jim at the Booze Cruise, the snorkel shots that were inevitably drowned out by the tension on the deck.  It's a beautiful scene you've set up, and the ending! Oy!!  What a cliffhanger!  (Even though I know this is the end of this "chapter", it's still a killer cliffhanger)  Another beautifully written masterpiece!
