Oh, this is very nice.  I love Pam's quick warning to Jim, and then Karen comes in, so that's it.  It's like the "stealth warning". 

Jim's "Not your fault." is straight from Casino Night - LOVE THAT!  And then Pam's "Things are so screwed up." is great.

Really enjoyed this.  Okay, is it sick that I love Strong!Bloody!Injured!Jim?  Or do we all love him?

Karen is not a very good girlfriend in your story - assuming they'll go to dinner, not moving to close the car door (???), and giving him about 2 seconds inside before coming after him.  Ugh.  Ditch that girl, Jim, and find another.  Maybe in the ... kitchen? 



Author's Response: Ironically, I don't think Karen was THAT out of line...when you are really coupley with someone, you tend to assume that you will spend a lot of time with them....only problem is, Jim doesn't want to be as "coupley" as she does...

Interesting.

Jim seems to not even have heard the "I love you" part of Pam's little speech.  Will his  brain catch up with that at some point?

I actually don't think Jim or Pam would use the word "begrudge" here; that doesn't ring true to me (just my opinion, though).

I love how Jim doesn't mind Pam's presumption.  This is so typical of all of us - the more you like someone, the more slack you cut them.

Now that you mention it,"begrudge" probably is a bit literary for a heated conversation.....but, I'm wedded to my single word "B" titles (I'll explain later) so let's pretend that bit isn't so jarring.....

And, you're right about Jim not registering the PamLove yet.  That will be addressed in a coming chapter.  HINT:  notice who he's focused on.  Again.

LadyLuck, I think you had a cut-and-paste problem; your first couple of lines are from further down...?

And there were just a couple of errors/typos - the DVDs should be calling "our name", not "out name", and it's "rarin' (as in raring) to go".  "Rearing to go" is a common misspelling, but it really is "raring".

I'm enjoying this story.  I really liked  all the Angela aspects - checking out Dwight, bringing out the kittens and being so distraught about it, etc.  

The kiddie pool was funny too.  Dwight's reaction reminded me of last week when he realized (immediately) that the Sheriff's citation (or whatever) was a kiddie thing!  Nice parallel!

Dwight would be good on the challenges and fire-starting (probably).  Social skills?  Yeah, not so much.

Wow.  Is it hot in here?  I feel like it's really hot in here.  Oh, no, it's just... YOUR STORY!!  "Brokenloon started the fire..." (come on, everybody sing!).

I love the 1st paragraph, where Jim is just trying not to get his hopes up yet, even though he's just had that parking lot quickie!  Love Pam's "Ruby Tuesday" comment.

I think it's really interesting that Jim once again went first when talking about his feelings now, instead of just a "What now, Pam?" or pressing her for how she feels.  I could definitely see him putting it on the line again with THIS kind of encouragement!

And, by all means, feel free to continue!! 



Author's Response: Okay, finished it up.  I kind of thought Pam opening up about CN might make Jim feel safe enough to let her know how he still felt, and that Pam totally opening up befre she knew it was safe might be a little much for her.  I always appreciate your review and hope you like the ending.

I really enjoyed this.  I love everyone's response to the Michael picture.  I like how Jim is trying to be very casual and trying not to expect much, and he ends up getting much more than he would have imagined!  

I like how Jim apologizes for f-ing up their friendship.  You've done a good job on the "voices", as well.
