An accidental meeting!!  I did NOT see that coming, and I love it!  I have some ideas on how Jim and Pam can combine their passions.  Well, their passion, anyway!

Thanks for mentioning there was another chapter - I might have missed it.  Of course, I would have caught it at the next update, but still!

Yay for Pam and Jim face time!!!  "Enjoy" your classes (okay, tolerate them then - a degree is important!).

Author's Response:

Haha, well, maybe the next chapter will just be them throwing themselves at each other and making wild wild love right in the middle of an art class... or maybe not.

Classes suck. Just had my first one back from break. And all I got out of it was blah blah blah chemistry blah blah blah. Oh and the always fun, you won't get a job, you won't get into grad school pep talk. newest chapter up. :) read on my friend, read on.

Wow.  This is a really neat take on this.  I've never seen (or thought of) Jim being happy about Roy coming after him.  You did a really nice job on this; I hope you keep writing Office fanfic.

Yay for happy and fluffy!  I love the "hands in his hair" and how it mirrors Casino Night.

BUT, I think Pam would love some barefoot Jim, even at dinner.  Oh, yeah.  (Maybe I'm projecting.  Yeah, I'm projecting.)

Anyway, just lovely.

Author's Response: Jim can wear nothing at all at my table, but Pam may want him to set a good example for the kids-to-be. Projecting? Hell yes. Thanks for reading!

Ahhh, yes, I remember it well.  I believe the first time around I also commented that I'd let Jim come to dinner barefoot.  Then again, I'm barefoot right now, so...

And I love the thing about the laundry, how This is the real world, and how he's the Answerman at work.

Just... great!

Author's Response: Barefoot, bare nekkid, whatever... :) I like your point about Jim being Answerman. Thanks!

I like this a lot.  My one suggestion would be to change Jim's line about the "subject of our discourse".  I love Pam's response to it, but Jim's line really doesn't sound Jim-like.

The stuff with Dwight and Angela?  Priceless!

Sadly, I think Karen is going to fight tooth and nail to "keep" Jim (not that she really has him), but I'd like to see the kind of thing you've written instead.  I like her line: "you have my permission to...".

Please continue with this!

Oh, I love this one, OF COURSE!!  A happy ending, Jim and Pam together, what could be better?  I really like - "But reality is better. Full of the messy little details he never would've thought to include."  Yay for a happy reality for Jim and Pam.

What's next for you, Azlin?  We will see...

Author's Response: What's next? Well, I think I'll try my hand at something a little more substantial this time around. I have a couple of ideas percolating, so stay tuned and thanks again for all your support!

Okay, I had to guess that maybe the Gwen was Gwen Stefani, and maybe those were some of her lyrics.  Luckily, Google confirmed.  Some of us are really old, and don't even have VH1 to remain culturally aware.

I like how "cultural awareness" makes me think of "culturally explicit" (Diwali).  Is that on purpose, or just my crazy brain?

I also like your reference to Toby, and Michael's completely unreasonable (IMO) distaste for all things Toby!

Author's Response: Count your lucky stars that you don't know this song b/c it's one of those songs that will drive you completely crazy before you can get it out of your head. Naturally, that's exactly the sort of song Michael loves best, so it's been stuck in my head since I wrote this. Oh the sacrifices I make for my writing... just kidding. Glad you liked it!

Ooh, Ryan.  I would actually like to see Ryan in PJs and bare feet.  Happy thoughts.  This is nice, especially the bright pink mugs and dish towels.  Kelly does love her colors (pink the person, pink the color, basically anything that is awesome).

Thanks for the shout-out.  I do rock.  (Heehee.)  I review so you all will be happy about writing.  And write more.

I really like this.  It seems very "Jim" to me.  I had to go back to double-check, but indeed - Pam, Karen, and Jim are all looking in the mirror.

Now, I will be watching.  Roy is the only other one you may have look in the mirror.  Otherwise, my sense of symmetry (for lack of a better word) is just shot.   On to read the next one.

Author's Response:

Well, I'm sorry to shoot your sense of symmetry but I wasn't planning on a Roy chapter. In fact I only have one real chapter left which I will (hopefully) write and then post after work. Also there will be a Jammy epilogue (set in the future) because what's an office fic w/o some happy Jam?

What a great Future Dwight prank!!  To cause Dwight to constantly be on guard, and to wonder what happened to Future Dwight, why didn't he report????  You have quite an imagination.  I could never think up a good prank.  This was as good as or better than the pranks on the show.  It's ongoing, until Future Dwight eventually sends another fax.  You should be proud.

Author's Response:

Thanks, I couldn't decide if Jim would really be this harsh. I mean if you think about it this is gonna haunt Dwight forever, but then I thought about how Jim was feeling right before coming back to Scranton, and how he tends to be a little meaner with his pranks when Pam's not around to balance him or to call him on it... so I think this is possible. Glad you liked it!

Melissa had too much coffee at Jitterz; that's why she's even more talky.

I like this one.  Stanley is always amazing.

Author's Response: Yes, yes, Jim is coming, but all in good time, my friend. Actually if you really want to know Jim's time is Sunday morning. That is, if I write both of the ones I've got planned for tomorrow in to post them when I was planning to.

This one made me laugh!  Ryan the BEST conversationalist!  Is that like best nodder?

Thanks for the name change, Azlin!

Author's Response: You're welcome Too Late Kev! But it's still okay for me to love that line right? Because I think either that or the entire Jim/Pam as Dwight/Katy-purse-girl scene from the same episode are tied for my favorite office lines ever.

Reviewer: Too Late Kev Signed
Date: March 16, 2007 Title: Chapter 6: Sometimes she'd wake up and smile

Ooh.  Yes, angsty and wonderful.  The last line about her reflection feeling sorry for her?  A-MAY-ZING! (/Kelly)

Of course you can still love the "Too Late, Kev!" scene!  I've always thought they should have had the opposite scene this season - Pam, Jim and Karen at a table ("I like Dads.  You know, soccer Dads, Little League Dads, widowed Dads...")... it would have had to have been before Traveling Salesmen, though, before Karen's Pam-dar was tripped.

That other scene you mentioned was great - "oh, yes, you need to step in and out of it like this to stress test it..."!  And Jim's high-pitched Katy voice? There are so many awesome scenes.  We can all love them all.

Author's Response: Thanks, I always feel a little more hesitant about the angsty ones for some reason, so it's good to know you liked it. And you're right there are so many good lines in every episode! I heart the office. (In case you couldn't already tell)

So perfectly Jan.  I think just about every one of their phone conversations ends like this.  Jan just says something then hangs up.  You are doing a great job with these characters.

Author's Response: You should see the grin on my face right now! Remember when Jim comes back and Pam can't stop smiling. That's what reviews do to me. I'm so glad you like it. And since I'm in such a great mood I think I'll go ahead and post the next chapter now instead of waiting until I get home from work, like I'd been planning to do.

Remember when Jim and Pam got 69 cups of noodles for Kevin?  One of them said something like "it's kinda crass, but it is his favorite number".  Good times, good times.

Isn't it nice that Phyllis found BVVR?  This makes me think about the scene in Dwight's Speech (I think), where Phyllis talked about being depressed in the past and how happy she was now.  Everyone should find their own BVVR.

Author's Response: I agree. And I'm very happy for Phyllis, but man was it hard for me to write her! Anyways, thanks for sticking with this story. It's nice to know someone's still reading it!

I love the style of your writing, and this story (although it's a little sad!), but I'm not sure of a few things.

When there's an elbow bump, is that with Toby?  And sharing a moment like that with Toby makes her think of Jim?

"When she leaves" is that leaving Dunder-Mifflin for good, to go to a new job, or just leaving for the day?  The specific date of February 13th throws me off a little bit, just because it's already passed and it was right before Phyllis's wedding, and Pam was obviously still at D.M.  (Maybe this was marked as A.U. and I didn't notice.)

Then I wasn't positive whether the application was for school or a job (I'm assuming school).

I'm guessing: she left D.M., left Jim with her email address (major hint, Jim!), she's at a different job, has made a new friend, applies to art school, and Jim has never contacted her?  But I'm not sure.

I guess what I'm saying is that I really love the style and the thoughts, but for ME, I need the dots connected just a little bit more.  When I have to fill in and make assumptions, I'm not sure they're the right ones.

I love the first paragraph about moving on.  It's poignant and angsty, and hits me in the grief bone (/Michael).  All the Dwight stuff is so perfect.

I hope you continue, and connect the dots a little bit more (for us slower folks).

Author's Response:

thanks for reading!

Actually I wrote this almost six months ago and it seemed pretty irrelevant  until now (so timeline problems were ignored).  Okay I don't want to give too much away but the leaving thing is a done deal but the last day has not taken place.  Sorry if anything was unclear.  The timeline thing is a bit wonky but I am probably the most easily distracted writer in the world, I can get completely bogged down by trying to describe a character opening a door so in my experience the less you say the better.

(I do love writing Dwight- there's a little Dwight in all of us.  Or is that just me? :D)

Thanks again

This is really beautiful. You captured this so well.  Remember Michael's Birthday was also the episode where Pam had a TH at the end saying something like "I dunno; it was a good day!" because she spent so much of it in non-work bliss (shopping, skating) with Jim.  Happy times.

If only Pam could send this to Jim.  (Yes, I think they're real people.  Don't judge me!)

Author's Response:

I just miss that so much.   A whole episode where you forget that her wedding is coming up and Michael making himself the center of attention in the midst of a cancer scare.  Vintage Office.  I'm nostalgic like that.

Thanks so much for your review.
