Somebody has a hard time watching Pam be happy. Guess who?
Jim's been away. Now he's back. Pam realizes what she's missed. No spoilers - just speculation and much wishful thinking.
I added Karen as a character in the story - since she's mentioned.
It's another Stamford office friday night, and Josh is buying the first few rounds. Jim tags along and hopes to start building some new relationships. That turns out to be more true than he could have imagined.
The more things change - the more they stay the same.
(I went crazy and rated it M -and then changed it back to a T 'cause - you know - it's still me doing the writing.)
This is a story about the Merger, and how Pam deals with it and her feelings.
She didn't know what hurt worse; that Roy's family hated her, or that he didn't.
Jim was utterly powerless to say “No” when Karen flashed that charming smile in his direction.
Nothing new added here, I just realized I forgot to check the "Complete" box!
Okay, this is post Stamford (sort of) and is a little AU, given that we now know Jim and Pam have talked a little. It's a bit angsty, but I swear, I was absolutely seized by the urge to write this! It's based a little on some of the comments I read on Live Journal yesterday re: Jim as "a man with needs." Heh. That makes this sound as if it's going to be a pile of smut, and it's not. It'll just be a slightly different Jim - totally drunk!Jim.
Jonathan makes an appearance as well.
And for those of you who are concerned - remember, my fics always end with a happy Jim/Pam. :o) This one probably won't be as long as the others have been; I'm thinking it'll maybe be a two-parter.
