I needed to take a break right here and tell you how sweet these little moments are!  I think little vignettes look deceptively easy - most are around 1.000 words, hardly any plot to worry about - but it's difficult to do them well.  So far, I love that he calls her "pretty girl" - I cringe at most pet names, but that one seems to really work for me.  I can hear Jim saying that.  I also love him  saying "I'm going to marry you" like it's a big bit of news when it's most likely him just trying to convince himself it's really happening - love that.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much for your review! I went into this thinking a story of mostly dialogue would be fairly straightforward, and figured out quickly that it was simply not the case. And also, I'm so glad you brought up the issue of pet names. Almost everything I can think of sounds fake and unnatural, and I have to picture them saying it several times in my head before I'll use it. Whew! Longer response than you expected I'm sure, but thanks again!

awww! so cute. that moment with pam on the balconey and jim seeing her was beautiful. Well described and worked perfectly as the impetus for his statement.

These just keep getting better and better. Their conversations seems true to character without being cutesy or trite like other fics I've read.

Favorite line:
because I can’t imagine any sort of future that doesn’t have you in it.
Just perfect!

Author's Response: Thank you! I try really hard to keep them in character, and I'm so glad you think it's working. I really appreciate your taking the time to review :D.

This is so darn cute. I'm hiding in my dark room trying to conquer a migraine, and seriously, I think the fluff is helping. Love it! Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Hahaha, fluff is pretty powerful. I'm glad I could be of service :D. Thanks so much for the review!!

Perfect dialog!  I love the running commentary on what Jim's doing as he talks on the phone  It flows so well with his speech, not at all clunky.  I especially liked this paragraph:

Jim ducked into the drugstore, momentarily startled by the blast of air conditioning that made his clothes feel damp. The store was crowded with teenagers trying to escape the heat, and he turned to keep from colliding with a bald, suited businessman balancing an attaché and a slushie. “Seriously? The last five years didn’t tip you off?”

I guess I just like the image of the businessman with the slushie … and then that comment.  Zing!

Author's Response: Yes! I was hoping I'd hear from you. Haha, the businessman just popped into my head and wouldn't leave until I wrote him in. Oh, and Snarky!Jim was itching to make an appearance. I could see Pam squirming on the other line, but I couldn't save her. Thanks so much for sticking with me. You're a rock star.

Ok, I can't say anything more than *melt*.   I'm enjoying their easy back & forth, and how Pam's voice and the sight of her makes Jim so happy.  They've both earned it.

Author's Response: Haha, that's all you really need to say, because that's pretty much what I was aiming for. Thanks for sticking with me - you're awesome for taking the time to read and tell me nice things :D.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and more gorgeous.

“Could have left a note,” she countered, only slightly mollified, and Jim found himself suddenly wishing he could run his thumb across her soft mouth. How can I even begin to tell you how wonderful that is?!  or this:

“Hey,” he said softly, still looking up at her with a lazy crook of his mouth.

“Hi,” she whispered back, biting her lip a little before grinning widely.

“I’m going to marry you,” he said finally, because it needed to be said. He needed to bind the moment up somehow, tie it down before it fled with the last rays of the summer sun. Pam started, her eyes growing wide.

Kindly continue to feed my addiction.  Thank you.

Author's Response: Aw, NanReg, I was waiting to see what you thought :). Glad I didn't disappoint, and hopefully I'll come up with the next installment soon. I can see this being a pretty long-running series... especially considering how awesome you guys are who have been keeping up with it from the beginning. Thanks for the encouragement!

You have such a pretty writing style! I love this fic; helps me through the office-less nights... Update soon please :)

Author's Response: Thanks Ellie! You're totally one of the people I try super hard for :D. I'll get another chapter up as soon as I can.
