I hate that winky. I like this fic.

Author's Response: LOL!  I'm ambivilent about the winky.  I'm glad you like the fic in any event.  Thanks so much for the review!

Yay!  Just Yay!  This is the reason you're marked as one of my favourite authors.  :-)

Author's Response: Awww thanks time4moxie!  I appreciate that!!

Awwww! That was lovely. It made me so happy, to see that she actually got the balls to tell him exactly how she felt. And that last line holds so much promise :)

Author's Response:

She's going to have to - in some way or another I think.

It does - doesn't it?

"She needed to know if the lessons she'd taken the time to learn would ultimately cost her everything she'd ever wanted."  That was a beautiful and powerful line. Great story - I do hope that we get to see something along these lines in the show.

Author's Response:

It's a risky - but necessary gamble she's making.  (See?  It all comes back to Casino Night.  lol!)

Thank you!  I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope so too!!

Pam. Oh, Pam. My heart kind of broke for her in the last episode where she bought new clothes and talked about having some for after work that "weren't pajamas." I don't want to feel bad for Pam though. I know she has, somewhere deep inside her, the strength to realize that Jim doesn't deserve "more than her" He deserves her. You did a really great job with this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it turns out similarly on the show!

Author's Response:

I like to think this is why they are being soooooo vague with her - even as we are all just sitting there yelling "YOU MISS HIM.  JUST SAY IT!!!!"

Sorry. ;)

I think this whole time apart is enabling her to become "more than her" if that makes any sense.  Jim does deserve someone who knows what she wants and I'm dying for her to realize it and tell him what she wants is HIM.

I'm not sure if I've made that clear enough over the last few months... :)

Ooh, I love this.  I like seeing Pam realizing that she's made a big mistake and that she probably wasn't going to get him back, but trying anyway.

Author's Response:

You do???  Even though I had Jim cave in the end???  ;)

I'm glad others took your challenge.  I do adore HappyJim but I'm a wuss.  Writing Pam taking that chance nearly killed me (true - but I think I might just be emotionally overwrought in general of late, so...)

Seriously though.  Glad you liked it!

Oh, so good! I could totally see this being the way it happens between them...Pam finally working up the courage after a few hints from Jim. Also loved the ending, it seemed like you wrote Jim as being a bit hesitant, needing a few seconds (but just a few) to really let Pam in again. Seemed so in character for both of them :)

Though now, I'm starting to feel bad for Karen :( It's always someone with the heartache...

Author's Response:

If episodes 1-3 are any indication - this isn't going to be at all easy.  Jim's going to make Pam work for it a little and that's more than OK.  I'm gearing up though - because I fear it's going to cause me (and the rest of us) more than a little heartache.

And if Karen bears the brunt of it...so be it.

Really I just want Jim and Pam both happy and I just can't bring myself to see them achieving that without each other.

Obviously. ;)

Somehow you manage to sustain the uncertainty the whole way, from the title to the last paragraph. The tension is just there, in the rhythm of the sentences and the words and the feelings. This is excellent.

Author's Response:

I'm telling you Lis - these two write themselves.  Confession.  Half the time I just let things come, and then when I reread I'm like man...that's not at all what I intended but it totally works.

It's not like it's a bad thing....it just constantly surprises me.

When we get closer to signs that we'll have those two in the same room again I'll write something else where she wears something that'll knock his socks off.

BTW, I just read this comment of yours, and I really, really want to read about that.   Rawrrrr.

Author's Response: Heee!  It's already bubbling in my brain.  I can already hear him stammering.  Just give me some time to get through this whole separation period and I'll fulfill my promise. :)

YEAAAAAA!  I was so worried when I read your A/N that it was going to end with him saying something bad like the fact he wanted to be with Karen, but he didn't, he said it wasn't too late, and OMG, that just made me SO HAPPY right now.  Thank you!!!

I actually squeed aloud when I saw the link for this on my LJ.  And then some more when I saw it was for me.  You are the greatest.  AHHHHH JIM AND PAM.

Author's Response:

I wouldn't/couldn't do that to you - or to me.  My veins are too full of sugar. ;)

I am glad to have made you happy.  When I said that in my note I meant that it was vague and you didn't really get to hear what she says specifically and you don't really hear Jim say anything at all.  Anyway....I'm so, so glad you liked it!!!!  YAY!!

Hugs, you've outdone yourself again. If it happened this way, I could buy into it an be a happy shipper. Loved it.

Author's Response: Thanks TV_Buffy!!  I have to say me too.  Let's hope it's from this screen to 'whoever gets the assignment to write the Jam reunion of my dreams' ears. :)

Thanks for this, my dear! I still feel like I need more doses of Jam-centric fic - and possibly an IV infusion of the stuff - to reverse my current despair. It does feel like something that can truly happen in an ep and I sincerely hope it does. In other news- have you seen The Coup yet???

Author's Response:

You are most welcome.  I'm with ya.  Maybe it will happen that way - maybe it won't...it just HAS TO HAPPEN.

And yes - finally watched.  And Jim's adorableness knows no bounds - no matter who he's flirting with. :(

I love how you nailed the differences between Karen and Katy, and I'm so glad it had a happy ending! Between the show, and all the well-written Jim/Karen fics, I truly need a Jim/Pam fix.

Author's Response: Thanks McGigi!!!  I can't do unhappy and I'm really not adept at doing anything un-Jim/Pam.  Even when I'm taking a stab at ensemble I've got them making eyes at each other. :)

Really nice Pam POV. The two paragraphs that begin with "Karen" are great. I like even more that you leave it where you do.

Author's Response:

Thank you Shan - even though you are directly responsible for me having to type this from beyond the grave. ;)  I'm not afraid of Jim paying attention to someone else - I'm just scared that it'll stay there too long. :(

And I'm glad you liked where I left it.  It's killing me to "leave things" at the moment.  I'm craving cue love song, fade into the sunset like no one's business right about now.

Writers, did you read that? That would be a perfect reunion.

Author's Response: HA!  I'd like to hear a little more from Jim's side WHEN it happens - but if they take your suggestion I wouldn't complain. ;)

Indeed, WHEN!

I'm trying to get used to Karen in fics, and it really helps when they end like this one did...with Jim picking Pam.

Here's hoping the writers give it to us eventually.

Author's Response:

Luna - don't worry.  You won't see a bunch of Jim and Karen fics from "this girl".   At this point I'm so desperate to have Pam express SOMETHING it became this.

I'm still trying to keep my distance before I know more.  But gosh is it sooo hard.

TWSS or HS.

Author's Response:

And I have some weird dyslexia this morning.

I meant "until I know more." and "it is so hard"

Well, it may be vague, but it sure is pretty and hits the critical nail on the head...WHEN (amen to that, sister) they get together, it damn well better be Pam who does most of the heavy lifting. (And yeah, Karen definitely discovered the wine at dinner in Tribeca...while wearing a Marc Jacobs sweatear she fought me for at the annual Barney's sale.)

BTW - I thought about emailing you the link, but didn't have the address...as soon as I posted it here I had a classic 'Duh' moment and realized I could have emailed it via this site. Not always too quick on the uptake here!

Author's Response:

Pam's gotta step up.  I'm all about that.  But I'm reluctant to really put words into her mouth just yet.  It's too early.

Doesn't make it easier to sit here and wait for the fateful day to come.

PS - I myself just drank wine in Tribeca but I sure as heck don't have any coworkers as cute as Karen's. :)

I think my email is listed in my profile.  Feel free to send me juicy tidbits like those anytime - even though I died a little as I watched. :(

I really wanted her to wear her new shirt!

Very nice.  Cathartic, in fact.

Author's Response:

PROMISE. :)

Cathartic indeed.
