I always wonder when I read stories like this what Jim's thinking -- like, in Hey, Jealousy when he still hadn't broken up with Karen -- I wonder to myself, Why?  This is not a criticism about your decision to write him like this --- I think there's a side of Jim in which I think he could be like that, but I don't like it.  I don't like it because I feel it's very cowardly for him to act like that.  If he really wants to be with Pam, he shouldn't be sneaking around with Karen, regardless of his fear of Pam's rejection.  In any case, I'm totally interested to see what Jim does.  I really hope he's finally straightforward and honest, but something tells me he's going to waffle around the truth.  Can't wait to see!

I'm glad you updated, it's really an intriguing story...

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the detailed review! And thanks for clarifying that not liking or understanding what Jim's doing != you don't like my story. (!= means "does not equal", by the way... 'you know you're a computer programmer when...' lol). Chapter 3 is in the works!

I really liked this story.  Especially the line you used twice:  "It must be weird to say that to someone other than yourself."  How true is that?  Such a poignant line.  Going right for the grief bone.  Karen kind of knows how to hit it where it hurts.

I think you did a nice job with the Karen/Jim dialogue.  The scene in the breakroom with Jim and Pam was cute, too.  It's hard ... them dealing with this space between them, but I think after Jim's conversation with Karen a minute earlier, it almost made it easier to open up to her a little bit there.  Anyway, can't wait to see what happens next!!

Author's Response: Thanks for the detailed review.  I'm glad you're enjoying it.  I'm enjoying writing it; I've missed Jim and Pam's easy camaraderie on the show, so it's nice to be able to write/read it in fic.

"I just moved here a few months ago, and I kind of effed that up. Little too enthusiastic. My girlfriend just broke up with me. I think I committed a felony. Maybe two."

A little too enthusiastic?  Committed a felony??  HAHAHAHA.  I think I'm going to die now.  Awesome.  More Andy fic, please!

It's interesting how you sort of use the union-premise as a way to show the difference between Pam and Roy, too -- I don't know if you were thinking that, but I saw that.  I really like this because it shows that side of Pam & Roy that we never got to see; what they were like when they got home, and actually, it makes me more sympathetic to Roy, as I was thinking about it, what it feels like to actually *be* in a relationship, and having been with someone for that long - there's certain things that you take for granted, and certain little things that just set you off and make you mad.  At this point, though, I don't know if Pam ever thought about leaving Roy -- just that her relationship with Roy and her relationship with Jim were very different.   (I know exactly how that feels.  It's weird.)

It's so sad, too, with the office closing down, but I could definitely see that happening and now I really want to know where everything goes!  Will they keep on people that didn't sign onto the agreement?  Will everyone lose their jobs?  What will Pam & Roy do?  So many questions.  ARGH I wish this was all posted at once -- I am dying to read more.

Nice job, as always.  You're a great writer.  ;)

Author's Response: Oh, wow, thank you so much! Yeah, when I wrote this it was partially as an answer to people who were like "why doesn't she just leave him?!" because it's obviously more complex than that, so I'm so glad that sense of their life is coming through.

Wow.  The scene on the roof was intense.  And totally real -- you really nailed Jim's mannerisms there.  And I loved how Pam turned around and kissed him again because I could just see that happening, like she couldn't help herself; she's just drawn to him and now that that's happened it's all different and it's all changed and she can't just pretend anymore, because she knows now, and ahhhh.

What's going to happen to everyone??  Oh my God, I hate you.  I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Especially for saying I got his mannerisms down -- I think this show in particular is hard to write for because the actors bring so much to the characters; so, yay. :)

Ahhhh!  You totally captured that weird, surreal giddiness about them finally realizing it's okay for them to be together.  I love it!  It's totally making me think about what happened in the finale this season and I totally want that feeling to be palpable when we get to see them again.  (I don't know if it will, but I want it - I love this feeling!)

My favorite part about this chapter was Jim's line: "Can you stop the car?"  Because, yes.  Why are they still driving?  This needs to be real and oh my God, suddenly it is real and wow.

I also liked how Pam was feeling kind of sick as she's trying to get the words out; I know I would be very nervous if I was her.  Awesome job!!!

I just started reading this today and got up to your latest chapter.  Jim taking Michael's job?  Ah, what a twist!  Jim isn't going to be happy when he finds out he's supposed to replace Michael.  Oh, boy.

This is a good story, so far.  I'm most impressed with the way you've written Jim -- his dialogue has been very spot-on.  And Ryan; oh, Ryan with his sarcasm and holier-than-thou attitude.  Even seeing it from his perspective doesn't make it much more sympathetic.

Honestly, though, I really, really can't wait to see Ryan as the boss for real!  Nice work so far.  Can't wait to see what happens next ...

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I\'m glad you\'re enjoying it. I\'m really happy to hear that you think Jim sounds natural. I always worry about the character\'s voices sounding right, and always hope that I\'m doing them justice. \r\n\r\nI too am looking forward to seeing Ryan\'s transition to being the boss. I\'m really intrigued as to how that\'ll shake down. \r\n\r\n
