Oh, that was cruel of you. And kind of cruel of Pam too, actually. I mean, poor Jim is in PAIN, in more ways than one. And she's just going to leave him there like that? Ouch.

But that said, I'm really looking forward to your next chapter and the resolution of this little Disney adventure. It's been a really fun ride seeing the parks through all of their eyes. And Magic Kingdom has most of my favorites - Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion. Classics all.

You've really captured the joy of new love in this. I love being able to read about the early part of Jim and Pam's relationship that we didn't get to see on the show. Especially when it's written this well. Great job. I've got warm fuzzies all over.

Author's Response: Wow, thanks so much for such lovely comments Blanca. I love early Jim/Pam too, it\'s just so much fun to write, plus because we never saw it, you can pretty much do what you want with it. Thanks again :)

This story amused me greatly because my hubby just recently grew a beard for the first time since I've known him (which is a looong time). It's kind of bizarre. But it made me like this even more.

Aww. What a wonderful homecoming for Pam. I'm so glad you showed them dealing with the reasons for her return besides just their revelry in being together again. As happy as the ending of the episode was, I can't help but think it left some lingering questions, all of which you've addressed very nicely here. I especially love the ending bits where Jim clearly loves sharing the news about Andy and Angela's wedding, and about Ryan and Kelly too. The craziness of the office is a major connecting link between the two of them, and it subtly gives her yet another reminder of why she came back to Scranton.

Author's Response: Aww Blanca - thanks!  I had them at first discussing the wedding and Pam saying she wanted something smaller this time etc...maybe touching on Phyllis' Wedding a bit - but I liked this idea better in the end.  Obviously.   So glad you liked it.

Some wedding discussion, yay! Since we aren't getting any on the show, it's nice to be able to read it here. I definitely think Jim would be more involved than Roy, but I do not envy Pam for having to go through the planning all over again. Even with a man on board who is willing to help, it's a lot of work! I also love that Jim read the whole wedding book and knows what red velvet cake is. Mmm... red velvet. /Homer Simpson

But seriously, this was a fun, fluffy read. And we could all use some fluff in our lives every now and then!

Author's Response:

I know!  I wonder exactly what kinds of things they are discussing.  Does Pam want a big day afterall?  Or is she hoping for something more low key.  Inquiring minds want to know Mr. Daniel's so step on it.  ;)

Thanks so much for your kind words.  I have it on excellent authority (umm...mine) that fluff is good for you. :D

This is always my favorite part of the show, because it's usually the moment when the biggest transformation takes place, and the person finally realizes their true potential. You've really captured that here with Pam. It's good to see her confidence really bloom. And thanks for all the pictures at the end of the chapters. They're always a great visual reference. (Except I think the makeover section needs a before pic too!)

I can't wait until the big reveal, especially with that little tease at the end. :D

Author's Response: Thank you!! Yes, I totally agree that once people get the hair and makeup done they really see the full effect of the transformation. I\'m so glad you think I\'ve done that with Pam here, because I do think her FNB hair is really the most noticeable change about her. And you are so right about needing a before visual!! I\'m going to go find a good one right now. :) Thanks so much again!!

I am loving this. I've seen a lot of What Not to Wear, and this reads like a virtual transcript of an episode. Your Stacy and Clinton are just the right mixture of snarky and caring. It could have been really easy to go too far one way or the other, but you got them just right. I wonder whether this will go AU at the ed and everyone will find out about Pam's "secret boyfriend." Hee.

Author's Response: Thank you!! I actually did study a few episodes of What Not To Wear before I started writing to make sure I didn\'t leave anything out, so I\'m glad that\'s transferring over into the story. I\'m really glad you\'re enjoying Stacy and Clinton too; I think they would be a little more sensitive with someone like Pam, so I\'m really trying to keep them in check while still getting the point across that she needs a change. Glad you think that\'s working. I\'m going to try to keep things as close to the Office plot as possible, but hopefully What Not To Wear viewers will be able to clearly see who the \"secret boyfriend\" is, even though everyone else may be oblivious. Thanks so much for the review!!!

I got a shout out! Woo! But you are the one who deserves all the praise. This was a fantastic idea for a crossover of two shows that I love. Every time WNTW has come on since I started reading this story, I can't help but think of it. I'm actually kind of sad it's over. Now I know how Stacy and Clinton feel when they have to send their victims... er... clients home after their transformation is complete. It's a bit bittersweet. And I loved seeing Pam and Jim together alone in the epilogue. So sweet. Thanks so much for this story!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! I\'m so glad the actual show reminds you of this story; I definitely agree that it\'s probably how Stacy and Clinton feel after they say goodbye to their \"clients.\" ;) I\'m especially glad you enjoyed the ending. I thought it was missing a little bit of Jammy sweetness. Thank you so much for the lovely reviews!!

Oh, the geek love in this. I really enjoyed reading it, from beginning to end. Wonderful work, and I do hope you continue!

Reviewer: Blanca Signed
Date: December 17, 2008 Title: Chapter 6: Nothing Hurts Like Your Mouth

Fascinating. Truly. This had me thinking in all kinds of ways about the things Jim and Pam have left unsaid, all their residual scars. Because at this point in time they'd been apart longer than they'd been together. During much of that time they were unknowingly hurting each other, and the past has a way of sneaking up on you. Or maybe it's always there, and you can only ignore it for so long. That's what I got out of this, anyway.

How appropriate for their fight to start with a seemingly harmless comment with deeper implications. Because it's never really about the croutons, is it? That's how it happens so often in real life.

You don’t know how to fight with Jim.

Yes, yes, yes. That is something I've always said about relationships. It takes time, but you've got to learn how to fight with each other. They're just starting out, and making all kinds of mistakes, which is so, so true.

There all sorts of brilliant observations in here -- about Jim and Pam, about life, about love. So many that if I start quoting them all, I'll just end up copying and pasting the whole thing. Why is it just as satisfying to read an angsty fight like this as it is to read steam or fluff (or fluffy steam)? I don't know what it is, but whatever it is, you're good at it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I agree with so much of what you point out - that so many things get left unsaid, for better or worse; that you do have to kearn to fight (and that that\'s not dysfunctional, it\'s actually healthy); that it\'s NEVER just croutons. I really appreciate your taking the time to say all this; thanks again. :)
