This is one of the best first date fics I have ever read. The details are beautiful, intimate, and so well written that I could see it in my mind. Wow! Dark!Jim is very, very hot! I just love the way he needed Pam so much and how possessive (in a good way) he was of her. Part of it must be the side effect of finally being with the woman he loved/wanted for so long that the thought of her not being his made his thoughts a little dark. This story reads like a movie. I mean, I can actually see the scenes that you paint with your words. The lightheartedness of them at the fair. How the rain adds a kind of privacy and comfort to their lovemaking because they were safe from a world where there's no Jim and Pam.

And my throat tightened a bit at the last conversation between Roy and Pam.

I loved everything about this story. It was extremely clever of you to write a backstory for Jim who, as we've seen on the show, broke up with two different women in two terrible ways. It's hard to pick which was the worst case because all were very horrible for the girls that Jim broke up with. But probably the one where he accidentally cheated on the girl.

The ending was so perfect, Jim and Pam happy with their daughter and of course, the happily ever after. Excellent job!
