I have a feeling they are not good, at least not with just being bed buddies. Ugh. I love the idea of Jim not lasting long on the first night because hes too excited, because of course. But then the redo? Coley youre killing me. Dont stop.

Nonetheless, this was fantastic. I love the switched roles, and Katy actually working right in the office is sure to add some extra tension. I can’t wait to see what you do with this, what similarities and differences and twists you bring. I love it!

Rip my heart out and run it over, djc. It’ll have the same effect as that sentence. Ouch. Poor Pam. I wasn’t expecting Jim to not be there and then for Pam to be so upset once she found out, my heart is broken.

This is a super interesting concept, though. I love how you’re writing Karen. Please update soon.

Author's Response: Sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry. But, you know. It's true! He didn't leave because of Michael! (And why *does* canon Karen think he left, huh?)

I mean, this is very much supposed to be canon for Pam's story right up until the beginning of The Merger, when Martin walks through the door alone. (One of the other animating thoughts was that Pam gets *absurdly* lucky that her extremely passive approach to the merger doesn't horribly burn her, and if she were not a television character she probably wouldn't have.) So yeah. This is a gut punch for Pam. But also maybe this speeds up her run to Beach Games?

This was amazing. I loved the background you gave Pam and Penny's relationship, how they weren't always super close but now are. I love how protective Pam got and the little jabs Penny and Jim made at her for it. Most of all, I simply adore that Penny invested in Suck It. That is canon now and I will accept no arguments. I laughed so hard and am still giggling just thinking about it. That was genius, Max!!

I'm so happy you enjoyed that - to be honest, I wanted to keep writing during a block I was having and thought I'd try my hand at a shorter piece...the title came to me first and with that self prompt I constructed this little story. I enjoyed writing the sisters this way and the how they all would interact (but could you imagine how it would be if it were Roy and not Jim - a very different story indeed.)

During the writing I realized how brilliant the name of the company was - the writers for that show were amazing - in that Pam had told Jim to suck it (I think on more than one occasion, but it was during the episode The Fire I am thinking of) and it all came together.

I love the connection between Pam and Jim! I cant wait to see how their relationship plays out! Im also super excited for the band, they got a paying gig! Cant wait for the next chapter!

I am SO excited for this!! I already know I am going to love this. Also, giving us the 11th grade kissing in the closet story in the first chapter?? I couldn’t thank you more. Will be (im)patiently waiting for the next chapter!

Its over??? I had to catch up a little and Ive been on the verge of tears since the beginning of chapter 6. I have no words. This story was incredible and everything I could ever want in a Jam fic. Now excuse me while I go read this entire story again and cry.

For real though, as heartbreaking as this was, it was also so good. The uncertainty with Jim, the nervousness with Pam, the panic and acceptance at the end as they hug each other. Excuse me while I cry.

Tpb omg. First of all, “Not a bad flight.” Im gonna die. And then how freaking encouraging Jim has been of Pam and how much they love each other and THE HOT TUB SCENE. And then Pam getting a job offer from NASA. Theres too much for me to process but I loved every second of it.

“Surprise” Instant tears, tpb. I was so hoping she would come back, the fact that she felt like she was holding everyone back (when that obviously wasnt the case) is heartbreaking, but from her point of view, i get it. But the fact that she felt that way and was able to work on herself while they were gone, ugh. And now theyre in Denny’s kissing and I couldnt be happier.

If Jim died and Pam didnt I would have sobbed. Lovedddd this ending!

“Team Halpert, we’re gonna crush it.” DEAD. The endings where they get engaged and married and live happily ever are just oh so good. Will forever love this story and you for writing it.

Ugh I love them so much. Jim spending his last day before Chicago with her because she said she was hoping to spend time with him is just perfection. Im rooting for a new years kiss, that’s the one thing on my Christmas list
