Yay you updated!!!
I was starting to think that you had given up on this story.
I love seeing things from Jim’s POV.
I liked how you mentioned how he can’t sleep and can’t taste food. It’s like what Jim told Dwight when he was upset over Angela.
I have to admit that I like how Pam just left without saying anything to Jim. He now knows how it feels. And I also like that she didn’t just run back to him now that he wants get close to her again.
In the end I think it will make her stronger, and make Jim have to work harder for her.
At least Jim realizes that he can’t play the poor me card when it comes to Pam because he brought much of it on himself.
Karen is annoying. I find her to be very pathetic trying to hold onto a guy who clearly doesn’t want her. She’s very clingy like a teenager. She acts like she is only one in their relationship that has any say on if it continues. Karen doesn’t even really want the real Jim. She wants the Jim she knew in Stamford. I hope that Roy doesn’t completely get away with what he did to Pam.
Hopefully karma will get him one way or another.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update soon!!!

Please update this story!!
I’ve been really missing it!
I loved Jim, but in S3 he was a giant ass,
and the Jim in this story fits that well.
It’s good to see that Pam is going after what she wants by going back to school instead just running to Jim for comfort.
It’s funny how once Jim sees how badly he messed up with Pam he starts to follow her around like a lost puppy.

Summary: Set in season 3; what if Pam met someone (and not Roy) sometime around Phyllis' wedding? How would Jim react? How would this affect the Jim/Pam dynamic? Just adding a bit more angst to the already existing angst fest that is season 3!

I love this story.
I can’t believe you ended it with that cliffhanger!
For a minute there I thought you were going to have Pam get with another CIA person named Jack Ryan, who just happened to look just like Jim. LOL
Please give us a sequel!
I’m really interested in finding out how Jim became an FBI agent, but I especially
want to know what season 3 was like from his POV, and watching Pam leave DM.
Plus finding out what happened afterwards with Corporate and Karen.
Would they still be together (puke)?
For example, would Jim have watched the documentary?
Please give another story in this JAM universe!

Author's Response: Jack Ryan is actually Jim's cover as an FBI agent ;) He's had a rough few years away from Pam, I'm sure. I'll try to add a few snippets!

Summary: Jim is at home sick with a virus (not THE virus...), and sick Jim seems confused about stuff. Which might explain how it comes to be that Pam is in his apartment looking after him, and Karen is selling paper...

Karen is such a bitch!
Pam updated her on Jim’s illness several
times and Karen just blew her off. Also when
Karen got off work she went to her hotel instead of going to help take care her boyfriend.
Then all of a sudden she acts shocked and appalled that Pam is there.
Jim is weak. He and Pam switched places.
Jim is now in her shoes when she was with Roy.
Karen is Jim’s Roy.
I have faith that JAM will be together in the end, but Pam should make him grovel.
Please update soon.

Author's Response:

Thank you! You're right, Jim's weak here... but he does have a virus raging through his body, so I'm going to give him that :0)

It's taken me longer that I hoped to get the update finished, but shouldn't be long.

Well it’s about time Jim grew some balls when it came to Karen.
She’s overbearing to say the least.
For her to fill out job applications for Jim and him expecting to automatically say yes is a little unhinged. Part of me is surprised that she gave up so easily when he told her no.
I love that Pam didn’t just give into Jim when he came over to her house.Even though he was still sick she made him work for it.
I think that if she had left for another job without telling him it would have been some nice karma.
I loved how everyone in the office was indifferent about Karen leaving. The unknown connection she had with Creed was a funny and unexpected twist.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I suppose I maybe should have strung out Karen's exit... maybe I was just too eager to get rid? :0)

Summary:

UPDATE 4/6 - Marked Complete - see story notes for a message of explanation and gratitude.

What happened after Jim "struck gold" during his job interview in New York (season 3 finale) and before Pam went mining for celebrity sex tapes (season 4 opener), this chapter by chapter WIP has the story told through many points of view - none of them from the documentary film crew.

I guess I’m Scrooge because I didn’t have any sympathy for Karen. Yes Jim should have told
her about Pam before she moved to Scranton, however, after she found out that Jim had feelings for Pam Karen made the choice to stay with him.
She even clung onto him like a teenager with a crush. It was pathetic.I also didn’t like Karen because she acted like a arrogant snob,
and brought out that same negative quality in Jim.
Karen wanted Stamford Jim, not Scranton Jim, which was the real Jim.
Karen let herself get heartbroken by Jim.
I do think you are doing great with the story
and I’m looking forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thanks for taking time to review. I so enjoy seeing perspective from other fans and readers. Sorry I couldn't make you feel even a bit sorry for Karen. As mentioned, I myself never did watching show, only in having to get in her head to write her did my pathos grow for her. But you NAILED it identifying Stamford versus Scranton Jim and that is addressed somewhat in future chapters. And her clinginess, hope that has come through for you in previous and this chapter. Glad you are nevertheless enjoying the read and hope you stay with me, lots more to come.

Summary: When a family emergency sends Jim across state lines, Pam somehow finds herself right alongside him.

Set, once again, smack dab in the middle of season 3.

I’m already wondering if Jim heard Pam’s call with Isabel and heard what they said because he wasn’t as asleep as Pam thought.
Isabel’s comment about the art of the cold shoulder was dead in. Jim’s back and forth in S3 is one of the main reasons why he got on my nerves. Perhaps Pam helping him will get Jim to stop taking her for granted.
Please update soon.

Author's Response: Thank you!! I'm almost done with the next update! Hopefully not too long before I can post it.

It’s nice to see that the channels
of communication are starting to open
between them.
I think the more it happens the
more Scranton Jim,
aka the real Jim will come out. I’m loving
that Pam is being more direct with her opinions instead of waiting until beach day.
Zero mention of Karen makes this chapter even better.

Author's Response: I’m also a big Pam of courageous Pam, so I’m letting her be forward a little sooner than we see in the show. Thanks for all your reviews!

Leave it to Karen to ruin the moment between JAM.
She’s as bad as Roy.
I have to admit that I’m curious about the phone call between Jim and Karen, and seeing her reaction to finding out that JAM is in a hotel together.
Looking forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I actually don’t hate Karen. I didn’t love her but she just got swept up in a relationship with a guy who was completely hung up on another girl and that sucks. She may become more a villain in this story, though, so I guess just wait and see! ;)

Reviewer: SES Signed 1

I think that Karen is not just as bad as Roy now,
She is Roy. Just like Karen, Roy would have been
more upset about Pam traveling with Jim than the condition of her relative’s injury.
It’s a very juvenile attitude. I’m looking forward to the meeting between Pam and Larissa.

Please update this soon.
After reading some other reviews I have to say that I’m glad I didn’t know about the fan page for Jim and Karen(puke).
I’d rather read the stories of Jim being
with Dwight. LOL
It may just be me, but I’ll never understand why some people wanted Jim with Karen, because like I said before, they were not a good match.
And yes I know that JK and RJ dated IRL,
but I don’t think they had chemistry.
Anyway thanks letting me vent some more about
Jim and Karen, because IMO that whole storyline was just another excuse to keep Jim and Pam apart.

Like I said in review for this chapter on
Fanfiction. net, Karen is a wicked whore.
Why is Jim letting her get all over him and pull him away from Pam?
After reading this chapter a second time I’m starting to wonder if Karen is a bit unhinged in this story.
Please update soon!

Aww. Jim is his usual polite self, no matter how uncomfortable he is....

Remember how he was with Cathy  ?

It’s good to see JAM being open with each other, especially when it comes others trying to wedge themselves between JAM.
I’m glad that Jim took steps against Karen by talking to Toby instead of just letting it blow over.
I highly doubt that Jim is the first guy that Karen has harassed at DM. Although I have a feeling that this this isn’t the end of it with her.
Karen having to sit with Kelly should be fun for her. LOL

Reviewer: SES Signed

If Jim really is just being polite to the whore Karen then really needs to man up because he is just pushing Pam away. If Karen is throwing herself at Jim without his consent then that is definitely sexual harassment or even assault and he needs to go to HR.

Reviewer: SES Signed 1

This was a very nice start to their relationship.
I like how they are really starting to communicate with each other.
Karen is at the point trying too hard.
It’s sad and desperate.
Why didn’t Pam bring it up at dinner?
If they are setting boundaries then I would guess that Pam would bring up to Jim how uncomfortable Karen is making her.
Jim better watch out because Karen has some Jodi Arias vibes going on. LOL
Please update soon.

These last two chapters were beyond hot!
They are definitely much better than the
disaster that was season 3.
I guess I’m in the minority when I say that I don’t see why so many stories mention that Karen was so pretty. I actually have to agree with Todd Packer when he said that she looked like a guy.
If people were saying how great that girl Katy
was I would understand it because it’s
hard to beat Amy Adams.
Lots of jellybeans to you all, and looking
forward to the next update!

Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I personally think Rashida Jones is astoundingly pretty so I guess my version of Pam does, too, haha! But Pam is definitely more my type—I guess collectively *our* type, huh?

I’m asking because I may have an idea that I think could be fun for multiple writers and readers.

It was nice to Jim let go of his season 3 ego to help Pam. It was also nice to see Phyllis not act like a bitch towards Pam for once. I’m not surprised that Pam would have anxiety and panic attacks because it seems to fit her character.

Author's Response:

I know, Jim in season 3 was so annoying but I do believe if the situation called for it he'd go back to how he was. And yeah, I mainly used Phyllis because out of the other girls, she seems to be the one who would be the most sympathetic in a situation like that, at least that's what I've seen from what I've watched up to so far (I'm only on the fourth episode of season 5)

And yes, from the way Pam acts sometimes and from little background moments I thought way too much into, I can definitely see signs of anxiety in her. That and I'm emotionally projecting again :)

Thank you for your review!

I have to admit that I am looking forward to seeing the break-up between Pam and Roy. He’ll never see it coming.
Also is Jim still going to Stamford?

Author's Response: Right? I'm glad it's coming across that way! I really didn't want it to be so raunchy that they just seem like adulterers :) I don't think I'll have Jim go to Stamford. I think in this plot, now that he's got her, he's not going anywhere.

I have to admit that I’m actually impressed with Roy’s reaction to the break-up. He acted like an actual adult. I thought he was going to blow up when she admitted to him about Jim.
Pam had many good points about the failure of their relationship so even if there no Jim it wouldn’t have worked between P&R.
Jim was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Pam’s mom and sister were annoying.
Why didn’t Pam tell them that she was breaking up with Roy? Pam just called her mom the night before to tell her about Jim.
