So romantic.  The email at the end was a beautiful touch to end the story.  As always, your work is just perfectly written and beautifully told.

Author's Response:

I'm really glad you liked it - I debated about the email, but I didn't want to leave it at her just walking away.  I am constitutionally averse to writing stories wherein Jim and Pam don't end up together in some form or another by the end (though I've done it a few times....)

Thanks, as always, for everything!

I love this story.  Its like 5 snapshots in the life of Pam and Jim.  Beautiful story.

Author's Response: Five snapshots - perfect description. I hoped to capture small, almost ordinary moments, as their relationship progresses. And keep it light - because unlike G. Daniels, I totally believe they can be together romantically AND it can still be funny AND they can still be friends. Alas, he doesn't call me for my opinion! Thanks much - glad you enjoyed this!

Great story!  I loved the bit where you suggest that Pam went back with Roy because she thought she'd made a mistake initially leaving him.  Very intuitive of you. I also loved, LOVED the ending.  i could picture the entire scene out in my head.  I love laundromat fic!

Author's Response: Thanks Starry!!  I think that was the whole point.  Once she danced with him at Phyllis' Wedding I believe she was partially failing to see the silver lining as far as Jim is concerned - partially wanting to make sure that there was nothing left with Roy.  I'm so very glad you liked it.

So much fun!  I'm sorry I missed this earlier.  It's certainly a great prequel to "Baby Talk"  I loved Jim's stunned reaction and Pam's mood swings.  Great job!

Summary:

He was well aware of the fact that what he was contemplating (no, planning) could result in the loss of his job; after all, the very definition of a documentary stipulated that the cameramen not alter the natural course of events or become actively involved with the subjects in any way.

Even more than that, though, he understood that to do this would be to tread a dangerous line; it was rather like playing god in some ways.

What if Jim could see what we've seen?

No spoilers, all speculation.   A oneshot.  Yes, a oneshot.  Seriously - it's finished.

I loved the moments that you chose to highlight.  Literally I was sitting at my computer, hand to mouth- completely captivated by the words on my screen. You chose some of the best moments- the lip smack, the bball glance, the Dundies, the egregious backrub...  I also particularly loved the throw back to the UK Office.  Another beautiful story!

Author's Response: I'm really glad you liked them - I changed a few and was frustrated at my sudden inability to recall specific moments from last season wherein Pam's feelings seemed obvious.  (Jesus, what is wrong with me?)  Anyway, glad it moved you -- thanks so much for encouraging the idea (even when it was in its rambling, nonsensical stage, following a declaration never to write another story until I finish "Only" - heh).  Thanks again!

I really liked the realization that Jim has that Pam hadn't told Roy anything until that point.  It is rather shocking considering what has happened between the wedding cancellation and that point. You would think that she would have said something at some point.  I also love that Karen is the one encouraging him to press charges- of course he won't- he'd been expecting the hit to come months ago.  Poor Jim.  Poor Pam. Such a mess they've gotten themselves into...

Author's Response:

Isn't it, though?  Seriously, these people kill me with all the things they let fester.  It is such a mess, I swear.  (And those writers better clean it up before the finale, damn it.)

I just got your email, so you'll be hearing back from me soon --

The ending to this chapter just killed me.  Seriously.  I don't even know how to respond.  The call back to the mirror and her relationships- just amazing imagery. I love that you have Pam shake off the kiss as Jim being weirded out by the cameras having been in the office all day. So Pam. lol.  An amazing start to the story- you always know how to capture the pain, suffering and just extremely deep love between Pam and Jim.

Author's Response:

I'm so glad it resonated - and the mirror stuff sort of came right out of nowhere.  And yeah, I figured it was necessary to have her completely downplay the kiss, because that was back when she was so very good at repression.

And uh, *cough* I'm off to change the old rating from M to MA.

Thanks for everything!

Oh Drunk!Jim... if only I could warn you. "OMGs" shouldn't make me think of the YouTube video with the Karen v. Pam civil war. lmao
Amazing chapter- but you already know how I feel about your stuff.  But in case in the last 5 minutes you've forgotten I'll put on my best Kelly voice and squeel "Oh. My. God. Its Ah-Mazing!" So amazing that I would have babies with it and name them Jennifer Hudson Dreamer and Justin Guarini Dreamer.
Okay, seriously though? I loved Jim trying to take solace with Karen. She's so a replacement.  (back off bitch!) Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

Your having babies with it comment still has me laughing - dear god!  Well thank you so, so much for all the insight & input; you'll see your handiwork in the chapters to come, you know.  Heh heh heh...

The only thing that she knew with a certainty that was unshakable was that she was in love with him
This line had me. Just completely sucked me in and made me feel for Pam.  I think in many ways it summed up her very existence lately.
I thought you did a fantastic job keeping the Karen/Jim sex at a minimum, while demonstrating that Jim was projecting his desire to just forget Pam- when (as shown earlier) he still can't. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

I'm glad that came through (the projecting thing), because I really wanted to contextualize it that way.  You are awesome!

Thanks!

Wow.  I think the break room scene broke my brain.  That was just insanely awesome and amazing and I feel like I use way too many "a" adjectives to describe how incredible this chapter is.  As much as the show tortured me with that scene, your explanation of it, makes the pain a lot less horrifying to deal with.  Its very realistic, very plausible and just... awesome (dammit, note to self: buy a thesaurus)  Keep those chapters coming. I'm just so drawn into this story...

Author's Response:

Well thank you!  I'm working as we speak (and your contributions will be in the next chapter, along with a great big shout-out)....

As I was reading this "Let Love In" started playing on my iPod. Ironic, no?  Serendipitous, I think. You worked the Ally scene in perfectly.  And their breakup was soft, yet powerfully poignant.  You so own me. I am Dwight and you are offering me mints. More story Starry? Yes, please!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you thought the Ally scene worked - when I re-watched it today (for the first time in years), I was shocked at how much RDJ reminded me of JK in terms of his...utter torturedness.  Hee.  Seriously, though, he kicked ass in that scene (even if someone seriously needed to slap Ally McBeal.  Seriously).

Your comparing yourself to Dwight and the mints made me laugh right out loud.  :o) Thanks for everything!

Holy crap.  As I said before- best dang chapter of this story (so far!) I could literally hear the squeaking sneakers on the court, and see the shock on Pam's face when she realized Jim was there.  Add to that the set up of what is surely to be the battle to end all battles has me on the edge of my seat. Girl, rock it out! *riffs my (pretend) electric guitar*

Frigging hell girl, that is one amazing chapter.  No matter how many times I read it (shhh) it gets better and better with each read.  The ending nearly broke my heart- but I know that you've got Jammy goodness to come, you'd never not give the people what they want.  Now I'm going to have to go and watch some more of my YouTube p-... errr... I'm going to go and relish in the amazingness of this last chapter and let my brain fully appreciate its perfect-ness. (how's that for 2 non-existant adjectives?) Can NOT wait until chapter 11.

Author's Response:

Couldn't have done it without your input, seriously -- I mean, just think, we'd have had longtim Jim (bwah) and his living room as the size of a closet!!  Heeee.  Seriously, though, thanks for the continued input/inspiration.  And yeah...that youtube thing is...mm-hmm.  :o)

He knew it wouldn't be long when she pressed tighter against him, leaning up to whisper in his ear, saying the things he never really believed he'd hear her say; things that chased away all the doubts he'd had in the past.
Things that erased the last vestiges of the guise of "just friends" to which they'd clung so desperately for such a long time. Never again could they run from this, hide from the truth of what they really were to each other.

This has to be probably my favourite girl7 written line ever.  Seriously.  Its just completely awesome and beatuiful and sums up what we as the viewer want for Jim and Pam.  They say nothing (to the reader, you know?) in those 2 sentences, but yet they say a litany of things.

"If you would have, I wouldn't have stopped you."
Damn.  Stop breaking my brain.

"Oh come on...like we haven't been faking it all these years anyway."
Best. Closing Line. Ever. Seriously.  I laughed, I cried, I nominated it for an Emmy.  Its so true, but just so funny. They've moved on, and now when faced with the Office crew they can certainly play it up.  Fantastic end line. Just fantastic.

Author's Response: Well if you've read any of the other reviews, half of what people are complimenting me on is stuff that SO would not have been there if you hadn't been my voice of reason - hee!  Seriously, though, thanks for all your help with this one - you totally rock.  :o)
