Wonderful. I enjoyed every section, and it's great how Toby 'grew' from watching the documentary. Yay, Toby!
Really nice job, Steph!

Interesting. This is my favorite: "Pam threw away the black jelly bean. Nobody liked them anyway." (Although Dwight does like the black ones.)
Nice job with the colors! :)

Sad, but good. :) I particularly felt Phyllis's section.
Author's Response: Thanks! I like there's a lot more to Phyllis than we see on screen.

I have even more favorites with this one - Michael, and Jim, and Andy, and Kevin. :) But Andy with his flask... awesome.
Author's Response: Thank you! I figured Andy and Meredith could bond over something... why not booze? ;)
Closing in on midnight, Jim and Pam await the start of 2008.

Very nice, moxie! Thanks for sharing this with us. I'd never heard that about setting the pattern; I'll have to pay attention to what I do today as well. :)
I loved this: “A whole new year of you and me,” she replied softly. “This will be the first full year with nobody between us, no misunderstandings, and absolutely no regrets.” Hooray!
Happy New Year, mox! Happy 69th story. (Kevin giggles.)
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, kev! Now if we could just get those kids back on the telly so we could see how 2008 plays out for them....!

I really enjoyed this. I haven't seen Dreamgirls; you might want to put "spoilers for Dreamgirls" somewhere, since you're giving away some plot. (I'm not planning to see it anyway, so I don't care about being spoiled, but someone might.)
It's all very good, but my favorite part is the conversation with David Wallace, and his little message for Joe Schultz at the end -- basically 'you will hire this person' and then knowing in his mind that she's Joe's replacement. So, so good.
Author's Response: aw - thank you. i just added spoilers for dreamgirls to the info - i hate to be a spoiler of any kind. \r\n\r\ni am glad the david wallace portion works for you. i have been transformed into a huge david fan and i want more and more of him - hence this. maybe i can convince you to write some david wallace? :)

Aw, nice job! I hope Roy is happy again. I hope he finds his Karen, so to speak. :)
I like how seeing other people happy made Roy feel a bit better; so often, it's the opposite.
Author's Response: Thank you! I want Roy to be happy, too- not with Pam, but happy! :) Yes, I thought about whether it was realistic that the neighbors would actually cheer him up, but I think they would. There's hope; the proof of it is right outside his window. Thanks again!
When he saw the strap of her polka dot swimsuit peeking out from under her white tank top, he knew. He knew it was her.
Set during Beach Games, but almost all of it is a flashback.

Thanks, Too Late Kev! I didn't want it to be cliched, so I'm glad you liked it. : )

Date: January 06, 2008 Title: Chapter 1: Bonus Gifts
Wow! Let me start with saying that your grammar and spelling skills must be pretty good, because all I found was an 'it's' which should be an 'its' and a 'miserable' which should be a 'miserably.' My unbeta'd stuff wouldn't be almost perfect, that's for sure.
I didn't realize this was going to veer off into fulfilling my hopes for these two. Up until Pam grabbed the card from Jim (I enjoyed the fact 'groping' was mentioned, by the way), I thought this was going to be a 'unseen by the cameras' sort of thing, and Pam was going to just stamp down the feelings she was feeling -- on with season 2!
I loved that instead, she took the bull by the horns (or the man by the arms) and dealt with the feelings. Hooray, hooray, and more hooray!
Here are some of my favorite lines:
“Please don’t kidnap the boy scouts,” she blurted out.
“Done,” Dwight barked, hastily swiping the iPod from Pam’s hand and shoving the teapot at her.
“No givesies backsies!” he warned.
I mean, what, is this teapot made of gold or does it brew gold or something?
“And that doesn’t taste like fire,” Pam added.
“Chickened out,” she offered.
“Hey, does this present come with bonus gifts?” he asked innocently.
Ha! I bet that present does come with bonus gifts! Imagine Roy's reaction to this!
Honestly, in real life, Jim and Pam would have been together way sooner than season 3, final show, final minute!! (Aargh!)
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for finding those two mistakes! I've fixed them and given you credit in the author's notes :)
Also, I love that you quoted your favorite parts. Thank you! That is my favorite kind of review :)

This is really nice, Siochan! I'd say that Jim should make his wedding cake, but if he mostly only bakes when he's upset, I think we should leave it to real bakers. ;)
The baking and the giraffe are my favorites, and I like the way throughout this that you're bringing in the other characters of The Office and they're so nicely in character.
Really nice job!
Pam married Roy, but Jim's return to Scranton complicates the life she thought she wanted.

Excellent job. I love how "Pam's wedding was nice" means so much. 'Nice.' Ouch.
Date: February 18, 2008 Title: Chapter 2: Hours fade into days that never end
"My plane"? Where is Jim taking a plane from, and who is 'us'? I'm intrigued.

When did Roy stop being enough? Good question. Probably when Jim became everything. ;)

Nice job. I'm favoriting this so I won't miss the updates. :)
Date: February 19, 2008 Title: Chapter 5: So I let you go
Super-angsty and complex! I'm so glad it didn't go this way, but if Pam had married Roy, I could certainly see these sorts of emotions in both of them.
I found especially compelling the part about Pam realizing she was ruining her marriage, and how Roy had been trying.
Date: February 19, 2008 Title: Chapter 6: and I watch you leave
The end of this especially is heartbreaking, but really good.
My nitpick is that it's cold out and no one mulches in the winter. At least I don't think anyone mulches in the winter. True confession -- I don't really know that much about mulching, but it seems no one would do it at Thanksgiving.
Author's Response: Ha. I fixed that part, since I don't know either. I'm a Texas girl. It smells like mulch at every playground I've ever been to! I didn't even think that it might not up north.
Date: February 19, 2008 Title: Chapter 7: And I hold my breath
What? How is Jim taking a chance on Karen "things looking up"? This is egregious!! Just kidding. ;)
Poor Jim. What a terrible situation to be in. If Pam had married Roy, it would be way too painful for Jim to work at DM Scranton again. :(
Nice job, Petty!
Date: February 20, 2008 Title: Chapter 8: So you won't hear me scream
Wow, poor Pam and poor everyone, really. SO glad it didn't go this way, but you're writing it realistically. I definitely think she'd first try to move out and figure things out rather than just saying "That's it! We're getting a divorce!"
You're doing a really good job with this.
Date: February 20, 2008 Title: Chapter 9: When you walk away
“You’d follow me to Scranton for nothing more than a chance?” I can totally believe she'd say this and then turn it into the "I moved from Connecticut" from Traveling Salesman.
And yeah, she's still in the picture. ;)
Interesting conversation with Jan. I like it -- he's got little choice but Scranton or quitting D.M.
"Steer clear Big Tuna. Head for open waters."
There was a part of Jim's life in Stamford that he only shared with her.

Date: January 13, 2008 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I can't
What a wonderful view into how Pam would have felt that night. I love how "yes, of course" segues into "I can't" after looking at "Roy's sleeping bulk," like Roy is some sort of hulkish sleeping dragon. Love, love, love.
And then how she's trying to decide what "I can't" means. This is just wonderful, lis; thanks so much for this.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm so impressed with Pam's journey, but I think it definitely took a bunch of little steps and sleeples nights- you don't become Fancy or New without struggle. I wanted to show that. I'm so happy you're getting so much out of this, thank you!
Date: January 13, 2008 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Alone
Wonderful. I love the different items mentioned that have no "Roy" attached to them, and her thought about being able to watch the sunrise - she's looking toward the future.
She looks at her path, and the path she left, and the path she chose not to take (yet). Wonderful. And yes, one of the best things about your own place is the ability to cry or be happy, nap or dance, without having to explain or justify it.
Just lovely, lis. I love your writing -- it's beautiful and it flows so nicely.
Author's Response: Thank you! I worry about flow...I think that's one of the reasons I write short pieces. It's easier to control. Yes, I like Pam here- still injured but not without hope. Thank you for the insightful comments!
Date: January 13, 2008 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Tomorrow
Oh, poor Pam! Full of hope, and we know what happened. She probably had cleaned up her apartment, hoping that she'd be able to show Jim everything. And clean sheets, only slept on one night? I'm sure she's thinking "just in case." ;)
It's sad that the next night wouldn't have been as she hoped, but instead was probably a disaster. That would be another night where having your own place would come in handy -- the tears would be flowing, that's for sure.
Her hope here is lovely, though.
Author's Response: Thank you so much- yes, the TH's in that episode just make me ache for Pam; you know she was just so hopeful. But fear not- canon tells us that things get better soon! Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy the final two chapters!
Date: January 14, 2008 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Light
I have this vision of a Jim Talking Head, "Pam and I had a long talk last night..." but of course this would be a good long talk, not a "I'm really glad you're here" talk. ;)
This is a really neat first date 'after' fic; this line says it all: "A simple dinner date has turned into a night of revelations, of confession and apology and proclamation." Hooray for this sort of sleepless night.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yes, I don't think Jim will be complaining after this long night of talking. Especially because once they talk through everything, it'll be done. I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter!
