Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review.  The husband exchange wrote itself very easily- I figured it was something so typical for parents to say to their daughter (especially if they liked the boyfriend) and I'd hoped it would come across as a random conversation that Pam overheard.  But you're completely right, if I were in her position and I heard that (no matter how innocent) I too, would run. Very bittersweet story, but wonderful nonetheless.  I like the idea of Pam having the strength to do things on her own, even if it means the end of JAM.  It was aq nice change of pace.  Also, I loved the shout-out to 'Oregon Trail'.  I was addicted to that game in the 80s.

I love where you have taken this.  Angst is so much more enjoyable for me if I know it will end well, so thank you for that.  I love how Jon is pushing Jim toward confronting his feelings, and I hope Jim finally does.  I love the little mentions of things Jim has so sweetly done that Pam has noticed (Phyllis and Sasha).  Yes, let's make it torture for her.

What a great story to get the day started!  Seriously, I was smiling so much while I read this that my kids kept asking what I was smiling about.  Oooh this was so great, I just can't get over it. I just wish that they could have danced some more, but I loved that Jim was just staring at Pam.  Will we have steam in the next chapter?
