9 Oh, yay! I can't tell you how happy each of these chapters made me. Pam making additional little efforts to reach out, bonding with his mom, the sweetness of the evening with the Christmas tree, and ohhh, that last one :)
9 Wow! I kind of freaking adore you right now. You won me over in the intro with the "Ryan is mean!" stuff, and then it just got better and better. She's so cute and naive and hilarious, and you've got her down!

I was so amazed at how gorgeous and sad Roy looked last night (I just want him to find someone! -else), and I think you did a great job dealing with his obvious feelings and Pam's conflicted ones. I love how Pam's so strong here and really thinking about what she really wants - it would be so easy to slip back into things with him, but it wouldn't be right, and she knows that now.

It's very real, and gives room for that hope for more. It makes sense that Pam would be more receptive, without that additional pressure of love declarations.
8 Ooh, I love your Karen. I love that you have her being sympathetic rather than jealous. I love that hearing about Pam makes her find Jim interesting, and someone she wants to be friends with. And I love drunk-pining-honest-Jim, although in the morning he may be embarassed that he revealed so much!

Them competing over being favorite parent is hilarious! Although I agree with Pam - Jim's plan is a little unfair and flawed - 90% of kids go through a "my parents suck" phase the moment they hit their teen years!
Awww, what an emotional chapter! I'm glad you expanded the incident into a whole chapter of its own. The letter from Jim gave a really sharp image of what it must have felt like, but this in-depth POV from both his side and Pam's really worked to help us understand the huge impact this had on them.
