Ah!  I really enjoyed this.  I like stories that explore the interesting dynamic of their relationship during Season 2.  This definitely seemed very realistic - I love the way Jim treated her when she was hurt.  You really kept him in character well.  And when Pam started kissing Jim's neck in bed.... oooh boy, I was like, "Wow."   Very nice!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the detailed review!

Oh.  My.  God.  Please always write stories involving Michael Gary Scott because they are the funniest things ever.  I have laughed SO many times reading this, it's ridiculous.  I mean, you really managed to capture the sense of Jim and Pam in this season -- and Michael's laundry list (no pun intended) about Jan.  Hoping they're related so he can break up with her--?  HAHAHAHA.  And Dwight... just... all perfect.

Wait... there's still more?  GAH POST SOON.

Author's Response: Thanks Ms GreenFish.  Michael is a hoot and a half to write.  When I first began this - the Jan being related thing was one of the things I knew I had to include.  I tweaked a little post-premiere to include the bit w/Pam - but the Pam/Jim interactions were in place before I knew exactly what we were in for.  So, so glad you liked it!!

I really like the concept of this story.   It's totally weird to see Pam as a "bitch."  Still, it'll be interesting to see how this continues to play out.  (I can actually kind of see Dwight & Jim as friends, sort of, so ... yeah.)

Comment about the formatting:  I personally find the bolded dialogue to be distracting.  I don't think it's necessary and if you feel like the conversation is getting too confusing (as to who said what), use tags, like, "Right, like that's really going to work," Dwight said, sneering at him.  Etc.  Also:  I'm ready whenever you're ready to send over the Dundies Re-Dux.  Heh.

Author's Response:

Heh... thanks for your input on the formatting. I originally didn't have the bold so I went back and forth on the whole thing. But I changed it so no bolded dialogue. :)

Yeah, Dundies will hopefully be finished before the start of the season. lol.

I love how Michael is all crude at first, but really quite sweet in private.  It's very Michael-esque.  Also, Creed's line was brilliant.  Heh.

Author's Response: Thank you!  Yes, I think Jim bet that Michael would be crude, but Pam knew he'd be sweet (eventually). I'm glad you enjoyed Creed's comment- it was really the whole inspiration for the story! Thank you again.

This is a great idea for a story!  I think we all wondered what would happen if Pam had attended the convention, and I kind of like that she's so angry about the way things turned out rather than just being sad.  Very interesting.  Although I have to say, I did not expect that slap.  I cannot wait to see what happens next.  I really hope you update this soon.  I hate being left hanging!!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I wish we knew exactly how Jim left Scranton, but since we don't it's fun to play around with it. I think if he did leave without saying anything, Pam would have a reason to be a little ticked off at him. I'll try to update as quickly and often as possible.

Well, I love the premise of this story.  And you really have the whole Pam/Jim interaction down quite well, I must say.  I can only imagine Jim's expressions as he's reacting to Dwight and similarly to Pam when she bets him to go hunting with Dwight.

I have to admit, I was a little surprised that Jim told Pam about her "company" for the weekend; I sort of figured he'd leave that to the element of surprise.  But, you know, either way, Angela & Pam are going to have some quality time together, so that's always good stuff.

I also liked the detail of having the cameramen follow Jim & Dwight -- it totally seems like something like this could happen on an episode.  And yes, that cameraman would have drawn the short straw; poor guy.  I wonder if the presence of the camera will throw off the whole camoflage thing, though.   Like, wouldn't it be a little distracting to them trying to take cover?  I think Dwight would make a comment about that.

Anyway, great start so far.  Can't wait to see where this goes.  I love anything involving Dwight & Jim.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the detailed review, humoring me in my shameless pleading for feedback. :)\r\n\r\nI did like the thought of Pam curling up with her chick flick, only to have Angela show up ready to cat party. But I just had the feeling Jim would not have been able to resist getting Pam\'s reaction to what he had done, plus he might get Pam to back down once he upped the ante. Of course, he should have known better than that....\r\n\r\nI really appreciate your feedback-I\'m always worried when I venture into humor territory that I am only amusing myself.

This is really cute.  One of my favorite episodes is "The Secret," and it kind of reminded me of that; with everyone gossiping about what was going on between them.  I also love the idea of Jim & Pam hiding their relationship (it's a theme I've used a few times myself, so... ;)

Your talking head segments were very funny, as well.  Dwight's was great.  And Michael, haha.  I also enjoyed how you worked in the "Jimmy" bit.  Awesome.

These were both very funny.  I can only imagine the look of confusion on Dwight's face when Michael walks in on the first one.  And Michael:  "Is that me in there?"  LOL.

The second one is very Dwight, by the way.  I could totally see him doing something like this.  "I'm not ... entirely certain of Pam's views on cannibalism."  Hahahaha.  And Jim's question?  Awesome.   Nice job.

Author's Response: Hey, thanks! I made my own dopey self laugh when I thought of Jim\'s question....lol..

It's funny how every cold open involves Dwight and Jim.  These are, of course, my favorite ones anyway, because they tend to bring the most humor.  I love Dwight's reaction to the method:  "Nice.  Very efficient."  I could totally see him saying that.

Also:  I enjoy writing humorous stories, and I always think, if you can't make yourself laugh, how are you going to make your readers laugh?

Author's Response: Yeah, I was thinking of diversifying it a bit and trying to get others involved, not just the main characters. And I do laugh at the dopiness I dream up sometimes.. but I find that people laugh at unexpected things sometimes. Thanks for the review!

This story was very well done!  I liked the nice connection that Pam formed with Mose, and in a way, I kind of wanted to find out what whittling Mose gave Jim (and how he would react).  I could definitely have seen this happening within the realm of the episode.

Also:  Dwight said Pam was pretty?  Oooh.  Interesting.

Great job!

This was a very entertaining story -- you really did a nice job with all the characters.  Michael was perfectly (in character) mean to Toby, and it's no wonder it caused the poor guy to crack!  I also enjoy how you worked in all the staff, like Meredith's advice, and Bob Vance's huge holiday dinner, and how Andy can kept secrets better than Dwight (haha).  The little Dwight bit at the end "Get your own, Jim!" made me laugh, too.  Nice work.

Very nice piece.  The way you broke up the short chapters makes a lot of sense and it's not too overdone.  I'm glad I waited until this was finished, though, because it would have driven me nuts watching the spiral Jim found himself going down in.  I think it's interesting because a lot of men (and women) probably find themselves in the position that Jim was in -- married to the wrong person, but doing what they felt was easiest, or best for them at the time -- and allowing their lives to slowly fall apart, all the while continuing to make bad decisions.  I'm so glad that it ended like it did; just the thought of it made me sad and angry at the same time.  We are in complete control of ourselves to make the right decisions and I'm glad that Jim realized how he almost could have made the worst decision of his life!

Nice job overall; it's a very clean story too (I like that - no glaring mistakes, heh.  :)

Author's Response:

I wrote it all at once (for a change) and debated whether to dole it out in pieces, or just post the whole thing.  But I think it worked better as one continuous story rather than being spread out, in part because it got so depressing near the end.  ;)

And yes, I know so many people exactly like you described, just trying to do the easiest thing but as a result they make one mistake after another.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!
