This chapter involving Dwight was great!  It's just so... Dwight.  The Empire, rebel forces ... fantastic!  I also liked the fact that you referenced the TV show here, it's funny, but sometimes I think we forget that their parents would be forever engrained as a part of TV history, not just ex-coworkers.  That kind of put an interesting picture in my mind -- that their kids know a lot more about their parents history than most kids do.

Which makes the Halpert-Shrute pairing all the more insidious.  I love it!

Damn it, you have just made me feel completely useless.  I was working on this piece, and I just feel stunned.  This felt so real.  SO real.  And the chapter with Karen --- all of a sudden, I felt like, "This hot, sexy, gorgeous, smart, wonderful woman -- she deserves Jim.  More than Pam."  And then I hit myself for thinking that because it was sacrilege.  I couldn't help myself, though.  You wrote her so well.  And then the Michael dialogue in the 3rd chapter and the Jim/Pam reunion -- it was exactly how I could see it happening.  I was never so glad to be stuck in the Drive-Thru line from Hell so I could sit and read your story all the way through.  I cannot wait to read more.

AHHHH!  Great ending!!!  Oh my, I totally felt this, and I don't just think it's the wine speaking, hehe.  I read your earlier chapters this afternoon, and when Karen found out it was Pam, I literally (I kid you not) screamed really loud.  I just died at that.  I could totally see that happening.

And -- Pam -- kissing Jonathan?  WOW.

And Pam's black dress?  And the matching black panties and bra?  Hot.

I really enjoyed this one.  I really, really want them back together now.  I will read this for encouragement when I am getting depressed over the next few episodes -- I will KNOW that Jim and Pam are meant to be together.  I will know.

Damn it when am I going to get some ASSERTIVE PAM?  I LOVE IT. I love the idea that Pam just came to Stamford for Jim.  You know he'd drop everything for her if she did that.

YEAAAAAA!  I was so worried when I read your A/N that it was going to end with him saying something bad like the fact he wanted to be with Karen, but he didn't, he said it wasn't too late, and OMG, that just made me SO HAPPY right now.  Thank you!!!  

I actually squeed aloud when I saw the link for this on my LJ.  And then some more when I saw it was for me.  You are the greatest.  AHHHHH JIM AND PAM.

Ah!  I could actually see this happening .. I could see Pam slowly making her way back to Roy, and it would be sweet and different, but still ... not enough.

I loved the fact that you wrote this!  I was worried when you made the comment about the difference between the malls that this story was going to be about Karen at first.  But it's all Pam, yea.  The curve-hugging sweater, the tiny fishnet stockings (nice!)  So sexy .... too bad the cameras will never show us this.

My dear GreenFish - I can never truly say NEVER but it will be a cold day in hell when you'll find me writing a story where Pam doesn't wind up taking Jim's mind completely off of anyone or anything else in the vicinity - and that includes any and all chic Connecticut chicks.

Nice.  These are very sexy, sweet little stories.  I love imagining how Jim and Pam would interact together, and I think this is pretty accurate.  I loved Pam and her Elizabeth Taylor nightgown.  And Pam going out to wine-lunches with Kelly!  Awesome.

She finds out?  Finds out what?  AHHHH.  This was fantastic, this is exactly how I see Pam living her life post-Roy.  I love the fact that she's got her week planned out to do certain things every day.  I've never really lived on my own, either, so I imagine that if I ever had to, my life would kind of resemble this.  I'd have a "shopping day" and a "laundry day" and I'd probably take a writing class ... ah, Pam.  We love you!  

I can't wait to see what really happens!!!

All hail the mighty supply closet!  Ahhhh, I can't WAIT until they eventually get back together, this was so great, I love the idea of Pam passing these little notes in her palm and then Jim with the folder.  That seems so plausible that they'd do something like that.  Ah, happy.

Author's Response: Well, it didn't turn out as smutty as I had intended, but what can I say?  The characters do what they want, not what I tell what I tell them to do.  ;-)

Aw.  The last few paragraphs are so sad -- so much of what I can see Pam thinking -- the real reason why she won't let herself be with Jim, because she's afraid of the rejection, and Roy -- Roy has always been safe and easy for her.  No fear of losing him, right?  

Also:   this may sound like an odd comment, but I thought $49 was a lot for a shirt.  I think I must be cheap.  I would probably think $29 would the price which I'd think, "Ah, that's kind of expensive, but not so much that I'd feel guilty about only wearing it twice."  If it was a dress or a pair of jeans...  well..  yeah, I know, I'm cheap.  I just had to comment on it because I don't see Pam as the kind of person who'd spend a lot of money on herself.  Although it's not like she's buying Gucci sunglasses, right?  Mmmm... Gucci....

I love the idea of Pam imagining Jim at the mall, though.  Going to the Gap for a new shirt, and then "rewarding" himself with a new CD.  Also:  I was wondering afterwards why Jim didn't introduce his mom --- maybe that would be too personal.  "Hey, Mom, this is Pam, I'm in love with her, but she's engaged to be married and thinks we're just friends."  Ha!  

WOW.  Holy crap, just WOW.  You completely answered my prayers in writing this story.  I made a comment about Karen and what her possible observations about everyone might be in a thread on TWOP, but you hit it on the head -- I totally KNEW she was going to hit Pam ("The softer side of Sears?"  HAHA.  Was that the insult you referred to?)

Anyway, it's funny, because I just got to that point in something I'm working on and reading this I thought, "Oh my God, I'm not the only one -- it's going to be so obvious to Karen that Pam has feelings for Jim when they merge."  YES, just ... yes.   Thank you.
