I wish we'd been able to witness Jim put Karen in her place. It would have been great to see Jim defending Pam. (But now I have seen it, so I guess it's okay.)

One of the other things I thought you did well (other than the smut, obviously) was the "how far does she want me to go" bits and "how do I tell him where I want this to go" thread throughout the chapter.
Jim is such a sweetheart, when he says "I, uh...think it's pretty...obvious what I wanna do." I just wanted Pam to retort "and it's not obvious what I want to do?" No wonder it took these two years to get together. They're both so careful and considerate (and you nailed that perfectly here) (TWSS)

Oh wow -- thank you so much! It's one of the things I always struggle with when I'm writing these two: the whole how-far-would-they-go-how-soon? question. I think that even though they're both experienced adults, they'd still be a little cautious about taking that leap, because it'd be a huge deal for them, not to mention an enormous transition. (There's surely a TWSS! in there, but...well, I don't dare, lol.)

Jim and Pam are Jim and Pam, only...not really.10 This has to be the funniest fanfic I've read. I usually read on the bus and I was unsuccessful at stifling my outbursts.
The characters are just so much fun, so different from the Jim and Pam we see, but so believable that their real personalities could actually be like this.
I also love the fact that not only have you reinvented Pam and Jim, but you've also weaved in new characters (Heather) and bits of the ensemble cast. So so funny.
I can't wait to see/hear the reaction shots when the rest of the cast discovers they really are together after that make out session on camera.
Poor Graham, but I mean, he must have known she wasn't into him. (He and Karen had quite a bit in common)

Great back-story on Jim. The foreshadowing in your previous chapters set this up perfectly.
I'm not sure about Steve though, having a waiter like that would ruin my entire night... I guess the fact that he doesn't ruin theirs says something about how eager they are to be together.

What really brought home to me just how much Pam loves and is secure in her relationship with Jim was the pile of girls around him at the end. Compare that reaction to her at the beginning and you can tell just how strong the connection really is.

Watch as Jim and Pam deal with being in the public eye and under the thumb of manipulative network producers. The story is told through interviews, transcripts, web pages and photos.
I'm really enjoying this. I'm waiting for the inevitable Roy blow-up.

I love the Bees character you've created, she's like FNB but maybe FHB (Fancy Hot Beesly)
And Jim seems so sweet, I'm looking forward to more backstory on him. One of the things I really like is the first person aspect, we're left wondering what Jim is really thinking, what made him fall for Pam, etc.

Pam married Roy and moved to California after "Casino Night," and Jim gave up. But then he started getting the letters...I needed some good old-fashioned angst this morning. I think it's a great idea for a story. These two obviously don't do well talking in person, so I'm anxious to see what they're able to convey in letters. Hopefully they'll both be able to read between the lines.
Author's Response: Thank you. :) I tried hard with the letters (these two chapters and others as well) for certain spots to have the subtext. Whether Jim or Pam chooses to figure out what the other really means is another story.

You've written such amazing angst here. And you're hiding just enough of how each of them feels that I wonder what each of them are actually expecting will come out of this week.
I also like how you're keeping Pam's thoughts of Roy away. She must feel very conflicted that she's invited Jim while Roy is away, but obviously she's trying very hard not to think about that. And Jim's trying so hard to convince himself he can be just friends, I can totally buy that.
At the end, I was waiting for her to say "Uh, no, I didn't ... I didn't marry Roy" Damn it. But I still have hope that they didn't actually sign the wedding certificate or something ;-)
oh and Maddie is a great character, I hope we get to see more of her.

okay, this is more agonizing than booze cruise was. He always has so many openings but just refuses to go there. You're staying very true to character (although I wish that Pam will start using some of her braveness that she must have learned from Maddie by now!)

I have to think he's right though in not pursuing her.. she's married and therefore off-limits. She needs to make the decision for herself and hopefully she already has. I'm probably reading into this too much, but does she have a PA cell phone number already? Has she already moved back from CA?
Also, Mopey-Jim is pretty sexy.

9 This is so sweet and hopeful. I don't always like the way AU's pull in real dialogue from the show and make it a different situation, but this was done so so well. The partial Casino Night conversation was just excellent and fit perfectly.

That was a beautiful piece of angst. I'll be telling myself that Pam doesn't need any more time on her own, she's had enough. But, I think you're right, they'll be throwing a wrench in their S5 relationship. As if we haven't been through enough and people can't actually live happily ever after.
