She was kind of sorry to see Karen go, because Karen was kind of cool, but she was also about thirty-eight different kinds of relieved and relief won. That was one of the best descriptions of how Pam probably felt after Jim broke up with Karen I have ever read lol...

This was awesome. A+ kind of awesome. That's pretty intense.

That was just... I don't even know. I go away to sunny, 95 degree Vegas for a week, and I come home to this, and it makes being back in rainy, cold Boston absolutely worth it.

“Nah, it’s just, I’m not…” he stammered. to "There you go…” he muttered under his breath.

That? That entire scene? That sums up every single thing I prayed for watching TO on my couch that night. How Jim just looked at her on the boat, and you knew exactly what he was thinking... wow. That was awesome. Please continue this soon - I'm on the edge of my seat!

Author's Response: I love Boston. Both of my parents were born and raised in Boston, and my entire family resides there so I always have an excuse to go. I haven\'t visited in a couple of years though, and I\'m liking the idea of an East coast field trip for our Jim and Pam, especially since I\'m somewhat familiar with the idea having spent most of my childhood in and around Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, RI... Hmmm... Thanks for the lovely review, and I\'ll keep you posted if I need any Boston ideas. ;)

Sometimes, I wonder if a chapter of someone's story was written with me in mind. This one, I think I may have be right.

Seriously.

And that's not just because I threw out some Boston references.

But, since we're on that topic, Jim doing a heavy Boston accent (we don't all talk that way tho, reader friends - we do NOT all talk like that haha), a Sox cap, hell, the Sox winning 15-1 over Chicago, Sweet Caroline (to which my fiance and I are walking in to at our reception), the infamous Frog Pond, the Pike... everything was SPOT ON. I loved it.

And then Jim being scared... That was just perfect. Fiance and I had a long conversation this past weekend about missed opportunities and being scared (we're marrying pretty young, we've been exclusively together for over 6 years, etc) and your Jim and Pam conversation was so very close to the one we had, it was scary. I'm ready to go (26 days left!!!) and he just now came out and said that he's been nervous. Your Pam speech was very similar to what I said (albeit, yours was much more eloquent given it wasn't yelled in the heat of anger and frustration haha) and it was just perfect. Seriously. I give this entire thing a 10. You win.

Also, Pam rapping to Luda is probably the highlight of this entire series. Un-freaking-believable. I loved it.

I\'m glad that you enjoyed this chapter and that you were able to relate to it so well, and I hope that you and the fiance were able to talk things out and push all of the nerves aside. And Boston- ahh. So near and dear to my heart. My parents were born and rasied in Massachussetts and my father has THE worst Boston accent you will ever hear in your life. It\'s terrible. And I apologize because I know that not everyone talks like that. Thank goodness that accent wasn\'t past down to me. Although sometimes I\'m slightly resentful that I don\'t have much of any accent at all. Grr

Jim not wanting to go so far with Pam since he'd just been with Karen that morning... Ugh. It makes me want to slap him and kiss him all at the same time.

Beautifully written and heartfelt... Her pretending the wedding happened and her sister was still going to be coming home? Heartbreaking. Hoping that maybe someday she can have the album out and not hiding? Guh... Devastating.

I'm getting married in 15 days and I know that one of my biggest fears is something happening to someone close to me.

Kelly has always been quite the anomaly for me. Good for you for being able to mix tragedy with her quirky, crazy self - its definitely not something I've been able to master!

I love Jim's reaction when he realizes who Alex is. Lovelovelove. I'm going to assume "trying to solve a mathematical problem in his head" equates to "trying to calm down so he doesn't punch Alex in the face for trying to steal him woman".

I'm totally loving this story - I really hope you keep going with these!! :)

My husband and I always look at each other and say "Yeah, kiss her. Kiss her good" every.single.time that we see people kissing. It's hilarious to us, and our friends don't hold back on their judgment of us. It's the circle of life.

That said, I lovelovelove the idea of this. Love. Can I say love one more time? Because I love this. Jim's nervousness, Helene's understanding of why he was there immediately, Will's nonchalance. Perfection.
