wow, that was super angst. I just re-watched Booze Cruise recently, and I think you definitely hit the 'nail on the head' so to speak, with Jim's actions here. Very well done here, I really felt the emotions as I read.

Oh this is purely awesome! I love all of it! The little shout out to Diversity Day at the end ... perfectly perfect. I really really love how you wrote Jim in this series.

Author's Response: Thanks so much Deedldee! And yes, a nod to a little Diversity!  Glad you picked up on that. :-)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the compliment and the kind words. I'm working on formulating a couple new stories and I'll be thrilled to hear from you when they come about.

I can't even tell you how thrilled I am that you've updated this! I actually want to start re reading all the chapters so I can get back into the flow, but reading this alone is just fabulous. The slow pace that I remember from earlier chapters is still here... and is it the same day or the next day? I can't remember. Anyways, I love the way you wrote this, so hopeful but the tone is the same all the way through, no burst of giddiness or silliness. I love the end, as he puts his head on her shoulder and tells her he missed her. I can't wait for more, and hopefully it'll be way before Christmas time! Don't stay away so long this time!

Wow Jim is cranky when he feels sick. Well, he is pretty sick. I just hope it's not contagious! She should try putting a cool rag on his forehead. And here's where I realize I'm talking about fictional characters, turn red, and bow my head in embarrassment. You seriously are an amazing writer. I actually felt Pam's anxiousness, felt bad for her when she was thinking to herself that he was lying. And felt how she just wants to leave but wants to stay at the same time. I seriously can't wait for the rest of this story to unfold!

Author's Response: funny you mention the cool rag because it's coming up in the next chapters. so... we are both guilty of taking care of fictional characters, i suppose. thank you so much for the nice comments, and i'm so glad that you're enjoying this story.

Okay, so I read this chapter. And then I had to walk away from my computer. Had a drink of water. Sent an email. Because I was physically incapable of writing a review that would be coherent. I will try now. --- At first I was like YAY she's staying! Then I was like YAY no Karen! And then those last seven words -- are you trying to kill me? Seriously? Other than the fact that your description is out of control good - I can actually see it all in my head. But she's married??!!! Did she divorce him? Is it annulled? Are they still married? Because if they're still married she has no right to feel all sorry for herself like she was in the beginning of the story and shouldn't be bringing him soup when he's sick and she definitely shouldn't be on his bed with him when she's married.

Yep. They're fictional. I know.

:) Can't wait for more!

Well, definitely a good thing - Karen's not an issue. And I'm only assuming here by the way she's crying (one tear crying, still crying) that she's in fact still married to Roy. Well, that and the wishing she were with Jim. And I'm fairly concerned that Jim's contagious, and probably should be in the hospital. Or taking more Tylenol. Maybe both. Although this is the same day as the beginning of the story, so maybe I shouldn't be that worried. Great stuff here, as always! Can't wait to see what happens next!

I read this last night on my cell phone so I didn't have a chance to post a review since I was pretty tired. I really loved the way that you've still kept the angst and tension even though they're both single now. Shortest marriage ever so sounds like something Michael would really say. I really find it interesting that he still seems so annoyed and angry with her (though maybe that's amplified because he's sick) but he still wants her to stay. I love how you have Pam telling herself to have more of a backbone, but when she says something it still doesn't come out the way she wanted it to. Very true to Pam in season 3. Looking forward to more updates!

I've been waiting for an update on this for like ... centuries (just kidding) And OMG are you seriously trying to do me in?! You are officially the Queen of Cliff Hangers. That is your official title. Meanwhile - uh, is he going to run out and save her? Is he going to think she just left and not bother going outside? What is going on? Is she okay? Did she hit her head? Is she conscious? Holy Moly woman. I missed you, don't stay away for so long this time! I know, I'm greedy, but yikes this story has me hooked!

Oh you shouldn't call this a filler chapter like it's a bad thing! Don't sell yourself short! I loved this chapter, just having a chance to sit down to read the whole story today. The whole thing is a great read, great 'what if' from that line from Phyllis' Wedding that makes me want to smack Jim (like he couldn't TELL from the longing glance Pam gave him while he danced with Karen? ugh season 3 and me have a love/hate relationship.) Anyway back to your fic, the frustration and angst are perfect all the way through, and in this chapter I love the banter, and I adore confused Jim. This is really good, looking forward to the rest of the story!

wow! I love this chapter. The flashbacks to the night before mixed in with what was going on currently fit in so well and really made this such a powerful chapter. Roy's anger IS justified, having seen her and Jim kissing and just leaping to assume that she'd cheated on him was very believable and his reaction very in character. Considering what we actually saw during Cocktails and The Negotiation, his actions are justified, and that you worked it in here in a believable true to character way is really great. A true testament to a great story, is when I can actually believe that this actually could happen. The hesitation that she and Jim still have, the back and forth between Jim not being able to do this, and then kissing her again. The fact that he's still with Karen even though he kissed Pam the night before, it's so suspenseful and I can't wait to read the rest of this story!

I love this chapter for soo many reasons! It follows the previous one so well. I really can feel the way she feels, you're so great with description and details. My favorite thing about this is like I said, I love how the moment from work that makes her angriest is what makes her realize that she's okay with baby number two. And I also found it so good that Jim just held her by the car and didn't say any words or try to make jokes he just let her cry it out. Sometimes we just need to cry it out. I really love your writing and I look forward to the epilogue and many other stories that you write!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Danielle. Seriously, I'm so thankful that I've had you to look over all of this over the last year. I'm not a particularly confident writer, so it's really helped to have someone look over it, make suggestions/corrections, and okay it before I post. I'm glad you liked this chapter. It means a lot :)

I have to say again how great this chapter is and how great this story is turning out! It's angsty but very believable. You're very talented and this is really very realistic and in character. I loved how you described Jim playing with Cecelia, and how much it shows that Pam loves them both so much. I really enjoyed getting to read this as a beta, and I can't wait for the next chapter, send it over when you're ready!

I've now read this epilogue for the third time, and I still have that teary eyed smile. I adore this whole thing, and it's a long sigh of relief from the first angsty chapter. I love the image you've painted of Jim as a father, spending time with his daughters and watching sports with them, painting their nails and what not. It's so like Jim to do that with his kids. At least I think so anyway. The part that gets me every time I read this is the part about the high blood pressure and how she'd get upset anytime she thought about him not being around anymore because of it. I also love that you gave them two daughters. I thought they would do that on the show, because I think them having two little girls is the cutest thing for some reason, so I'm glad you took that route. I adored this entire story from beginning to end, and it was such a pleasure working with you on it. You did the hard part, the writing it out. You're such a talented writer and I hope that you continue to share stories with us on a regular basis! :) Thanks for this gem.

Author's Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. Thank you for all the super nice comments throughout :)

This is so great, congrats on posting your first fic here! I definitely think there's so many places you can go with this idea. And your writing is really great, your description of Cecelia is perfect, and your characterization is on. I'm hoping you do continue this, I think there's plenty that you can explore.

I'm so so glad this chapter's finally posted properly. I loved reading this chapter as a beta, second person sometimes can be tricky but you've done this so seamlessly I barely notice it. I love Jim's POV, I love how much he loves Pam, how caring he is and how he knows what she's going through and is being so sensitive toward her, especially with her being so extra hormonal. I really love how you ended the chapter, very much them. Looking forward to the next update!

Author's Response: It was easier to do second person seamlessly when it was just a one-shot, but then I felt like I had to keep it that way for consistency once I decided to turn it into an actual chaptered story. I definitely catch myself going back a lot thinking, "Okay, I've used 'you' and 'your' like 4324324 times in this sentence, and it sounds ridiculous. FIX IT!" .. haha It's also the only second person story I've ever written so that makes it a even more of a challenge. Sometimes I wish I had stuck to first or third. Anyway, thank you so much for reading and commenting and beta-ing :) I really appreciate it
