This is along the same lines as my other Away From the Cameras, in the sense that I'm exploring scenes that might have happened off-camera (or simply those that we didn't get to see).
A few things: First, I'm working on the assumption that a lot of what I wrote in the AFtC for season II stands (though I likely won't reference any of it here), up until Casino Night. (Clearly I was quite off about what happened after the kiss...heh.)
Second, there will be flashbacks filling in the blanks of what happened immediately after CN (how long did Jim work? how did he and Pam ultimately leave things? how did she end things with Roy? how did Jim find out about her cancelling the wedding?); the flashbacks will happen largely in the chapters pre-merger (to keep things interesting for Jim/Pam fans during their physical separation).
Yes! I love that Dido song (remember when it was used in Love Actually??) thanks for putting that in there. This was really well written, I love the idea of Pam "wearing Jim down" over time to the point where he just can't hide it any more. So true.
I like the idea that Pam always knows where he is in the office even though she doesn't mean to. That is so true of when you really care about someone like that. Nicely done!

In response to the Evening Coming Challenge. Pam and her scarf. Beautifully written, I love the line about being perfect despite the obvious flaws. That is definitely Jim and Pam.
I really liked this, especially using the scarf as a metaphor for Pam needing to loosen up when it comes to Jim :) Excellent.
Sometimes Jim hears about how people do crazy things when they've got nothing left to lose, but he's never been that kind of person.

Phew, I actually read this earlier and wanted to compose my thoughts before I reviewed. This was very good. I haven't found a lot of Jim/Dwight dynamic characterizations done right, but you really got it I think. The beginning was spot-on Jim, so afraid of change or doing anything out of the ordinary. And the line about Pam defeating him? Brilliant. And Jim kissing Dwight at the end was just... I was speechless :) Fantastic job, I always love your stuff!

Yes! I love this take on the situation, because it is completely possible (it really bugs me that Karen asks her if she still has feelings for him in the episode, because she really didn't give Jim a real indication that she had feelings for him, but this scenario would explain things so well!)
Things I loved: "Jimpot" (hee) and the line "Psyches kind of rock" made me laugh out loud.
Yes! All right, thank you for agreeing with me on the "still having a crush" thing. That really struck me as out of place in BF. Doesn't it just make sense that she could only feel that way if he'd told her about the Dundies kiss?

I love Meredith stories and I usually don't like when the other characters are "pulling for" Jim and Pam, but this was so realistic and believable, I loved it! Keep up the fantastic work.
