Your speeding thing there is funny to me.  I'm Canadian and thus subject to different traffic laws and different enforcement levels.  I was in the States last weekend and was completely blown away by the number of traffic cops.  We saw over half a dozen in a few hours of driving - in the same highway time in Ontario you'd be seeing one, maybe two.  I'm sure there are violent crimes that they should probably be cracking down on instead.  Also, worried about 80 mph?  You do that in Canada and you're passing nobody (especially in Quebec).

What that has to do with anything, I don't know.

I grinned so hard it hurt for the first two-thirds, then I got all sad for the ending.  The 'I had this awesome tilapia with crab meat and we had sex in the bathroom after. Oh! And tiramisu. Tiramisu is so fucking good right?', the break up sex argument, Pennsyl-mania being the lamest thing ever except they already have t-shirts, Ashton and Demi - all gold.

Poor, poor Dwight.  By far the most entertaining of the immediately post-The Job fics I've read.

Hmmm... I think there may be some people a little miffed at your complete glossing over of steamy bits.  Brilliantly glossed over, in fact.  I think even network censors from the '60s would miss that.

We're all going to be so disappointed if they don't have Kandy next season.  Maybe we should start a massive letter writing campaign or something to make sure.  Um... i'm not organizing that.  I've got a thesis to write.

Author's Response: Of course, if they do get together it will just be proof that Greg Daniels reads fanfic.

It does feel a little awkward to end it there and in the manner that you did, though that certainly shouldn't take away from the quality of this chapter or your writing as a whole.

I have a healthy respect for someone who has the cajones to put something like this on the table and not pull any punches.

Awesome!  I couldn't incite that kind of rage even by killing Pam, but I heartily congratulate you on besting my most anger for a single posting mark (even if that wasn't the goal either of us set out to achieve).

Though she may have a bit of a point: when I reread from chapter 3 a second time to refresh myself as to the setup, I think it felt a little disjointed between 3 and 4, like the path from one to the other really wasn't easily bridgeable.

RE:So where did it leave us? Jim, unhappy and ready to take his punishment as he feels he deserves. Karen, on the pathetic side embarking on revenge that will feel good at first and then leave her feeling just as empty and possibly guilt-ridden. And Pam, blissfully unaware and stupidly supportive. That's... Well, that's something.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I see this situation heading, too.  That could be fun as well.

Charlie sounds like a good friend.

Author's Response: The people who review me are so kind.  Nobody thought that Charlie was the guy's evil business partner who's trying to do him in before he can get his much needed surgery.  It's part of why I like my reviewers so much, they make me feel better about humanity.

Oh dear.  The reveal of Pam's fiance pretty much killed off any residual angst/tension/heartwrenching feelings from the rest of the fic.  Suppressed guffaw, somewhat painful.
