You guys will be overseeing four categories, Canon, Prequel, Future and General.
Nomadshan
Swestworld
xoxoxo
You guys will be overseeing four categories also, Missing Moments, Post Episode, AU, and Other Pairings.
I will leave it up to you guys to come to a conclusion how you want attack the whole quality control issue, but I think the best way might just be to rely on the ratings from yourselves, and act accordingly.
Our first challenge was issued, and we already have two fantastic responses aleady, so check them out!!

I'm adding the pairings for "Other Pairings". It's weirding me out, but it's all in the name of art!
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 01:30 am
ohhh thank you sooo much! i keep meaning to get started on it, but my brain falters a little. it knows only jim and pam and nothing else. it's a very one track mind.
- sicokitty on July 12, 2006 01:32 am
OMG I just added Pam/Creed and I can't stop laughing!!!
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 01:33 am
omg!! lol. can you imagine? someone needs to write that now. lol.
- sicokitty on July 12, 2006 01:41 am
Pam and Creed???? I think I need to bleach my brain now. Oh, some of those pairings are just bizarre.
Question: What exactly are we considering as General fics? The Other Pairings category takes care of pairings other than Jim and Pam. So is the General Category for Ensemble fics or ones where there is no romantic pairing? I just want to be clear.

i think gen will take care of anything where there isn't a romantic pairing as the focus of the fic. so something that is more like a regular episode i guess.
- sicokitty on July 12, 2006 02:15 am
Nice! I think this'll work. :-)
- Annakovsky on July 12, 2006 02:19 am
Done. Every conceivable pairing. I think I'm now de-sensitized to the horror of a Creed/Todd Packer fic. It occurs to me we may wish to add Tim, Dawn, and Gareth to the other pairings list, since it was announced today that they'd be appearing in season 3.
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 03:41 am
creed and todd packer!!! *dies laughing*
- sicokitty on July 12, 2006 04:29 am
i just rewrote the summary on the general category. does it explain it's purpose a little better now?
- sicokitty on July 12, 2006 05:08 am
I just wanted to say that this site looks great! You guys have worked so hard on it. Good job!
- bonorocks on July 12, 2006 10:03 am
Todd Packer would totally deserve to be paired with Creed, but does Creed deservie it?
- Pixel on July 12, 2006 10:04 am
"Jim plays a prank on Dwight versus Jim and Pam end up making out whilst playing a prank on Dwight." I think I've got it. LOL!
- xoxoxo on July 12, 2006 10:06 am
Hehe. I get it now.
- shannanagin on July 12, 2006 10:35 am
Oh, wow, look at all those other pairings, nomadshan! Thanks so much for adding all of those.
- on July 12, 2006 11:30 am
sicokitty - your new General description halps me a lot - I wasn't sure how it fit in, but now I get it - thanks!
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 11:46 am
Some of these pairings are very disturbing to consider. In fact, any story that paired anyone with Creed or Todd Packer would probably be disturbing!
You guys, we will probably need to have a cybermeeting to decide how we will go about monitoring stories.

As far as monitoring stories goes, I propose an ad hoc approach because it doesn't seem like there is a real glut of problematic stories. Seems like the admins should just keep up with reading all the stories in our assigned categories (which we would probably all do anyway, ficwhores that we are :-)) and if anything strikes us as problematic, we should just contact the co-admins for the relevant category. If the co-admins agree that it's a serious problem, one of us would contact the author and ask for it to be fixed. I mean, really, unless the fic-that-shall-not-be-named crops up here, I don't foresee this process having to occur too often. What do the rest of you guys think?
- on July 12, 2006 01:23 pm
swestworld - I'm with you. For the most part I think Office fics are well written and unless we have some random off the charts posting - your process sounds good to me.
- xoxoxo on July 12, 2006 01:35 pm
swestworld - oooo, can we call it "Volde-fic"? *snark* I agree with you on the process.
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 02:56 pm
Heh - uh, sorry to keep being annoying about things, but where do we post non-Jim/Pam canon pairings? Kelly/Ryan, Angela/Dwight, Phyllis/Bob Vance, etc - they're not under the (impressively extensive) list of Other Pairings.
- Annakovsky on July 12, 2006 04:14 pm
You can categorize them under what ever fits, then just choose those character pairings from the dropdown - I'll go add them now.
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 04:23 pm
OK - added. So if you have, say, a Missing Moments fic for Kelly/Ryan, choose MM category, then K/R from the character dropdown.
- nomadshan on July 12, 2006 04:27 pm
Don' t know if this is the right place for this, but can we maybe agree that stories in which Roy is actually verbally or physically abusive don't have a place here? That's just a place I'm really not comfortable with going, and I don't believe it's canon, so there's no reason to feel like we need to allow it.
If nobody else has a problem with it, I'll shut up about it. But I hate those stories.

Maybe if that sort of thing crops up, we can just be very careful to make sure it's dealt with in a responsible way, and exclude if it doesn't. I don't know, I find it extremely distasteful too, but I hate to exclude a topic wholesale. But I certainly think it would be okay to be very picky about under what circumstances it would be permissible.
