Full on with you that Pam is not a big skier but that she would be the one to make the compromise (as she always does)…glad someone is pointing it out to her. She does deserve more.
Author's Response: Thanks!

Feels like there's something significant in that it's Michael and not Dwight who really pushes Karen's buttons... like he's the one you really need to make peace with to function normally in the Scranton branch.
I also think you have Karen hit on something important here - Pam's unconscious sense that marrying Roy is going to change him somehow. I think just having someone unbiased telling her she deserves better is big, but making her confront that underlying assumption is a game-changer.
Author's Response: Thanks! To me, Karen would be more bothered by Michael because he is her boss whereas Dwight is at the same level as her and has very little power over her. Also Dwight has no qualms about alienating people because of who he is, whereas Michael does some crazy stupid stuff but still expects people to love him for it. That lack of awareness would drive her nuts I think.

Wow! No more beating around the bush that's for sure! And Pam's not really getting defensive about it. Kind of different take one usually sees about the ski trip. Roy basically just leave Pam for his buddies on what's supposed to be their vacation. No wonder Karen is pissed for Pam. At little at Pam too for letting Roy walk over her like that.
However besides all that, what I really like is that Karen is asking Pam some of the hard but important questions. Why indeed is Pam with Roy, when that's how Roy treats her? I've long thought in canon Pam never really got that kind of perspective. Has she, the engagement might have ended a lot sooner. Which it kind of feels like is what we're seeing here so there you go.
Really looking forward to seeing where we go from here. Will Pam listen to Karen? Will Pam get upset at Karen? Great way to keep up the suspense, that's for sure.
Author's Response: Thanks! Karen seemed to me like the kind of friend that would not let you get away with lying to yourself, and Pam could really use that.

There were moments that were make-or-break in a friendship, and right now she didn’t want to be the type of friend that said nothing when you had a piece of salad stuck between your teeth. But, you know, with a fianc? instead of a piece of salad. - this line had me HOWLING. So funny
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you liked it.
