Not sure what i think about this. Very, very sexy, and wonderful tension throughout the chapter. You're starting to make me think JAM won't happen in your story, but more startling is the fact that there was a moment while I was reading that I didn't mind (though that moment passed and I'm waiting impatiently for more Jam action in your story again) Update soon, and keep going. Your bravery really is paying off; this is a phenomena story!

Ok part 2 of the big review. It is totally awesome that Pam holds her own with the scuzzy bartender. And it is funny to me that protective Jim is usually really sexy but somehow such a tool in this story.
Angela and Pam!!!! Actually this hits on something I love about Season 3, I love that without Jim, Pam has really grown so much closer with the office mates. Sure she still pranks them, but you can tell she really cares about them, and vice versa. I think it just accentuates the rift between Jim and Pam and Jim and the rest of the office.
I know we already talked about it, but I love that you have Pam be jealous of Dwangela, truth is that she should be. Her relationships are so messed up and they are so clearly in love. In fact, am I jealous, wait no no, that's just being full from lunch......
The conversation between Ryan and Pam about the movies is all kinds of wonderful! And way to pick two of my desert island - guilty pleasures edition movies. Seriously who doesn't wonder why in all these films the whole world turns to the US, uh not any more. I'll be turning to Japan.......(j/k).
The last part I have to glaze over due to trying to appear busy at my desk, but I think the way that Ryam start using the last names and that infuriates JIM! That's fabulous. Suck on it Halpert.
And the hallway scene. This looks promising. But promise me we'll get to like Jim better before the end, because he's looking less attractive than Roy to me right now.....course roy is also hot. Just hot and scary......

Author's Response: Ahh, I love Angela and Pam! I totally agree that this season Pam seems to genuinely care about her co-workers and that is a big difference between her and Jim at the moment. Hee! And those are my guilty pleasure movies too (esp. Armageddon)... thank you so much for such a great review! I really like hearing which parts you like in particular so it really really helps :)

PAM and JIM PLEASE COME OUT OF THE CLOSET! (sorry gratuitous South Park reference, but you put them in the closet). I love the awkward moment between Ryan and Jim in the hallway when we get the first glimpse that Ryan may also be jealous.
I adore the fact that when you bring either Jim or Ryan in the scene, you often don't tell us which it is until later, I love how they're sort of interchangeable to you. It's a very cool technique.

Oh, and your Angela voice in this? Wins first place for all of time forever. It's perfect and you've captured that ineffable dynamic between her and Pam and I love the parallels of the Dwight/Angela and it is killing me. (Heeee and the evolution debate is AMAZING.)
Oh, and also: sloppy drunk hot Ryan is just so...stupendous.
Things with Roy had been convenient, yes, but never exactly easy in any respects except for the bedroom. And things with Jim... did she even have something with Jim? Could she call it that? Whatever it was, it wasn't easy and, for the past year or so, practically nothing had actually made sense to her.
That part you added made me so very happy. Just...perfect.
Plus, DO NOT BE NERVOUS. Trust me, I would have told you if the explicitness was bad and it was the opposite of that. I don't throw around terms like "one of the best I've ever read" lightly. You are a genius and I will hold your hand electronically when you post your gloriously sexy next chapter. So there.

I'm so glad you said that about the Angela voice because I was nervous about that bit especially (she's hard to write without going over the top--and you do it so well!) Oh, and I'm trying not to be nervous about the next chapter and you're comments on it totally saved me from becoming a nervous wreck! I'm working on the next chapter which should hopefully be chock full of adorable ;)

Okay, so now not only do you have me routing for Pam to end up with Ryan, but you actually have me liking Karen? I love this little bizarro universe you have created in which I can entertain such sacrilegious thoughts.
I like the way you write Ryan. He is so different from on the show yet very believable. I really think that he has a sweet/fun side that we don’t get to see in the office. We only see small glimpses of it here and there. When you had him kissing Pam’s neck at the table I got goose bumps!
. Oh, and Jealous Jim... soooooo Yummy! I’m not used to seeing him so Raw and testosterony... I can definitely get used to it. I need to know what Ryan and him talked about in the bathroom. Are you gonna clue us in later on in the story?
