This was PERFECT. I can't get over how perfect this is. I had to register a name so I could tell you how perfect this is.
Truly. I'm a huge JAM fan, and I almost didn't want to read this fic because I read the reviews for it first. But oh my god am I happy that I did. This doesn't even end with JAM, and it's still, hands down, the best Office fic I've ever read.
I literally had to take a break during the Pam and Ryan sex scene on the boat because it was just THAT good.
I loved your characters. I feel like so many fics start off with canon characters and then just kind of implode in on themselves a few chapters in, but yours were unbelievably spot on throughout. Your Dwight and Angela were perfect. Kelly struck the perfect balance, and Ryan was just... so good. So different but so so believable.
Anyway, I'm gushing. You did a fantastic job. Just perfect. Why can't there be a million of you writing these?

Wow! That was soo good! I love Jim and Pam together but Pam and Ryan together would be cute too! I never thought to put those two together. Great Story!!!

Wow. Just, wow. I'm a fairly new viewer/reader of the Office, so I guess you could say that I'm still infatuated with the Jam. But, seriously, this story broke my heart. I started out looking for Jam and did NOT expect to be siding with Ryan by about the third chapter. And at the end, although Jim being alone breaks my heart, I realized... Ryan should be with Pam (at least in this story). Congratulations -- you rock.
P.S. I registered for a penname just so I could review this story. Go you. (I think you've inspired me to start writing some Office fic)

So I've been reading stories here for a while, really excited to find so many already developed stories and really talented writers, and something about this just caught my attention.
First of all... wow. Hello angst. It doesn't get much angst...ier than this. I mean "You were trying to get him off across the room?" Wow.
But they're actually not all out of character, like a lot of people want to make Jim and Pam out to be. They're definitely breaking the rules set for them on the show, but it's all surprisingly feasible.
And Ryan? I'm not going to lie, I have been known to hate him on occasion, mostly after he wasn't the temp anymore. Just business school and weird loyalties I have to Michael and...yeah. But this Ryan is human, and again, he seems to understandably stem from the show. I did love him in Grief Counseling, so... maybe there's hope.
And finally, the selfishness shows, and you had the line:
"And how perfect does Kelly and Ken sound??"
...so my name is actually Kelly. And my old best friend's name was Ken... and that's a whole pool of not unrequited, but bad timing and bad location love, so...yeah.
Great story, though, really. I'm pretty lucky, because I'm coming in late, and so I don't have to wait to continue reading such great writing.

I'm speechless!....this story was amazing. Not in a million billion years would I have thought about Ryan and Pam, but WOW, what you wrote was pure magic and it actually brought me to tears...I was so excited and shocked and...well, I'm at a loss for words. Though I will always remain a JAM fan, I will always have Ryan in the back of my mind...again WOW! THANK YOU! :)

Well, I normally just do a short sweet comment on stories and that is it....BUT, this time I have alot to say. First of all I am the biggest JAM fan in the world, I love Jim, my nickname on here is sweetbabyjim, so i love jim. When I started reading this I was hopeful for JAM, but then I kept reading and reading and when Jim was waiting for Pam outside the bathroom and he kissed her i was MAD...WHAT???? MAD that Jim was kissing Pam?? I also got mad when Jim and Pam were in the closet....WHO AM I??? I absolutly fell in love with Ryan, and I fell in love with Ryan and Pam TOGETHER...again, i say WHAT???? I loved every minute of this story and I was floored that Pam ended up with Ryan and I was even more floored that I was smiling and giggling because I was so excited about it.....This was by fat the BEST fanfic I have EVER read and I have read ALOT!!!!!! AWESOME JOB!!!! We need more Pam and Ryan fanfic......the writing was beautiful and it felt true....I loved when Ryan and Pam made love and Pam yelled Ryan's name...AHHHHHHH!!! I read that part about 20 times....awesome job, I am going to read it again....FANTASTIC JOB!!!! You made a DIEHARD JAM fan turn (for this story at least)

I'm so glad that even as a huge Jam-fan you could still enjoy and get involved in the story. Ryan/Pam is my favorite pairing (in fanfic I mean, not on the show haha) and yes there should be so much more of it out there! And I must say...I never thought that anyone would EVER EVER EVER be able to make me hate jim with the fire of a thousand suns and root for Ryan and Pam. You have accomplished the impossible. Okay. Okay. So. I finally, FINALLY read this whole thing, like, in one sitting because I couldn't stop, and all I have to say is DAMN, this hit the spot. It hit all kinds of spots. I mean, not just the totally giddy, awesome stuff like the cruise flirting and the drunk hooking up which was all so, so real, but also the great character insights into how Jim is flawed and how Pam has changed and how Ryan might be if he really started to care for someone. And omg the end! I loved that you had Pam leaving and Pam and Ryan getting together, I mean, with the direction and growth you were giving the characters it just couldn't have worked out any other way. This was a hugely satisfying, totally kickass read and I enjoyed the hell out of every word of it. <3 <3 <3

Ok, first of all, you could never creep me out, especially since I get pretty creepy when I talk about you/this story/Ryan/BJ/etc. Heee. But seriously, I should thank YOU for letting me help you with this masterpiece.
Michael/Sex and the City party? So PERFECT. Honestly, one of the things that make this SO GOOD is the fact that everyone is perfectly in character. Your Kelly voice is amazing, and your Oscar, your OSCAR, is just spot on and he only has a couple lines! You captured the perfect Michael/Pam dynamic and Karen is spot on and Jim's special selfish way of looking at things is just...yes. Everyone is in character and I can't even...
Ryan! He is SO Ryan and you've illustrated SO WELL how he and Pam (and don't even get me started on your Pam - guh) could work because their personalities, their characters, could really mesh well within the current canon/how they are presented on the show. And it's all so realistic and YES.
I mean, they leave Dunder Mifflin! The two characters on the show that I could see leaving DM is those two, honestly. Jim has that stagnant quality, and you know that once Pam gets her act together she could and should leave, and Ryan...he's in business school for a reason, folks. He wants to change, he wants to go places. He's a real guy, both on the show and in the story, and it's so...real and I love you.
In conclusion, the end is perfect and makes me cry a little bit, because it's sweet and real and GOD I want those two crazy kids to make it. Ryanfic forever! You WIN ALL.

I'm sad this story is over...you write the characters so well, I've enjoyed reading every bit of it. I admit, I really wanted things to work out with Jim rather than Ryan...but your writing is so strong I'd have to say this is my favorite fanfic I have read so far.
Also, loved the Creed moment in the last chapter about Detroit. I laughed out loud there.

Having been a JAM devotee from the very beginning, I just can't sign on to a Pam/Ryan romance for the show . However, you have written such a great story here, DinkinFlicka. The initial premise was wonderful, and the resolution was satisfying. I love how strong you wrote Pam, and I wish canon Pam would take a few cues from her. Great work, and I can't wait to read more from you!

I will not throw garbage at you. This story has really grown on me. I can see how great Ryan and Pam could be together. Well, with the way that you've written Ryan. In your story, he's fantastic. He's sweet, romantic, and sexy. On the show, he's just as soon throw away a gold medal made from a yogurt lid and paper clips. You have managed the impossible - for me to love a story that isn't about Jam. In the end, I agree with your ending. It fits, and in this situation at least, it's what Pam needs to do. Thanks for giving us a look at what life could be like for Pam elsewhere.

I almost started crying at the thought of Pam leaving D-M. Why am I this attached to the characters??? I am proud of her though for doing what she's doing and I love how well the Sex and the City story fit with this one (and thanks for explaining it because I've never seen it). Thanks for making Pam and Ryan believeable (at least in fic, I'd scream if the show abandoned JAM but I really like reading different pairings like this).

Wow - I really do like how this turned out. Once again, I don't usually like the unusual pairings, but I really liked the Pam/Ryan combo you gave us. And I barely even felt sorry for Jim. Bravo for doing something a little different, and doing it really well!

Okay my internet connection died and I was freaked out because I wanted to read this story, and it was worth hours of agony.
Everything about this is so perfect and it feels real and natural and it really ended beautifully. Every character got their little moment and it was spot on (but no Toby :()

-sobs- I can't really catch onto the Pam/Ryan ship that's set sail, but it was still a good story.
