Oh, I LOVE this! I adore the way Jim is being such a jerkoff and yet so jealous at the same time. I like how Karen's trying to make the best of everything, and Pam and Ryan are SO CUTE. Seriously, when they were giving out secrets about each other, I almost died of the cuteness. It's awesome the way you still have Ryan as such an ass (because that's what I love about him, he's really just like 9/10 of the guys I know in real life) but in a FUN way, and the way he's softening towards and looking after Pam is so different than a normal characterization of Ryan. Because who is to say what he would do? Ryan's not a sweet guy. It's possible he'd cheat on Kelly, and I would love it if he and Pam hooked up once. So, yeah. Screw Jim, go Ryan! :)

Seriously, you rock for writing this, because some people are really hating on the Pam/Ryan dynamic, but I think that they could be just adorable given the right situation :) The secret part was so fun to write! I'm trying to write them like two people who have just kind of suddenly discovered that they could actually have things in common, because for me that's always an exciting thing (even if its not a romantic kinda thing). Can't wait to hear what you think of the next chapter!

In LOVE with this fic. I've already read it like four times. I'm not afraid to admit that. Because it's just that awesome.
I feel like what Ryan says about the office making him into a mean person when he's really not is true. When I see first- and second-season Ryan, he's actually a decent guy. Actually pretty much right until he started dating Kelly he was pretty un-hate-able.
This season, I'll admit I'm a Ryan-hater. But I completely follow you here--not OOC at all. Ryan could, outside of the office and without Kelly around, be a nice guy. And incredibly sexy, apparently. Because yeah, that last little bit of chapter three? WOW.
And I love Jealous!Jim and Drunk!FNB and Sympathetic!Karen. I'm pretty much addicted to this. Yup.

Oooh, I am so glad that I finally have the chance to read this! I love the way that this is set up so far, with Jim all bitter towards Pam and Michael and Dwight wanting to protect her from Roy...this is all so great. I love the image of Ryan offering Pam his earbud (and listening to Arcade Fire! He so would!) and Pam sleeping on his shoulder. Fantastic job so far and I'm looking forward to reading the rest! :)

Oh, crap, I was going to have a nice long review, but right now I have to economical with my words - I can't think of anything else to say - and you'll have to stick with these things
1) Jim is being an asshole
2) Your Michael is SPOTON. as is Dwight!
3) I am liking Ryan and that is - strange, because I was very mad at him for a while, and believe it or not it was Business School that made me like him even less, but I'm liking him - I like that you've made his jokes/cracks the kind of thing he would say, considering his darker, more cynical take on things. Nice.
4) However, if they go beyond this you look really amazing tonight, I am going to whine, and fall on the floor, and roll, and roll, and cry.
5) and your comment in the last chapter is the only thing that's kept me hanging on your every other word
6) other than your amazing story, of course :P [because I know I'll be reading this however that goes]
7) and also your amazing depiction of Drunk!Pam, because I'm straight, but when I read or watch drunk!Pam I feel woozy and feel like hugging her to death.

I do enjoy Pam getting her groove back and a jealous Jim, but I'm a little worried how far you're going to take the Pam/Ryan thing before it gets too out-of-character. And I just feel bad for Kelly, lol.
Author's Response: I'm not sure that Pam and Ryan being attracted to one another would be that OOC, I mean, Pam is single and Ryan is, well, Ryan. Plus they are in a totally new situation (aka not in the office) which could add to the kind of excitement around it. The way I see it, Pam has been with the same guy for her whole life, and the only other guy she has liked is with someone else. I'd be looking for a little distraction by that point too I think! Hehe, anyway thank you so much for your comment, I'm loving hearing people's take on the story (good and bad) so keep it up!

My love for this fic knows no bounds. Seriously. You don't understand. I'm in love with this idea of Ryan/Pam. Like, the whispering with the lips against ears and the half drunken sort of flirting and there's just this feeling to it that makes it really, I don't know, just hot. And Jim's bitterness is perfect and all of it and and- I need more now. Please?

While I'm of course a Jim/Pam fan...I am all for a little detour along the way--however, I REALLY hope that the Pam/Ryan thing doesn't go too far b/c even if Kelly is annoying, she's still Pam's friend and that would just be way too hard to come back from...but as long as the two of them just stay friends (without benefits) and drive Jim insane, I'm all for it

You know what, this got better on another read through. :) That being said, keep going with where you are going...I know that you have promised a Jam ending, but don't change up the Ryan/Pam middle due to what anyone says. (Not that you will, but...)
Also, regarding the "cheating" issue. Yeah, Ryan may cheat. It's not an OOC thing for him to do. I daresay that if it was Jim being flirty with Pam while still with Karen, there wouldn't be all these "cheating" reviews. It's just a feeling I have...
So, do what you do how you want to do it, I say. Oh, and I'll work on the next chapter and send it to you tonight. :)

Ok Season 2 Jim rocks, Season 3 Jim needs to get it together. I had to say that to justify the fact that I am telling you - I LOVE RYAN HERE. I love that he is going after Pam like we all want Jim too. And Jim needs to get over himself and decide what he wants, both in the story and in the show.
I love this story, and it was great coming home to a new chapter, totally made my night, especially because Lost appears to be frustrating as usual.
So good. So so good.

Wow, I'm really digging this story! I think I could totally get on board w/ the Ryan/Pam thing (in the short-term sense) if only Ryan wasn't with Kelly. Even though on the show Ryan generally seems to think he's too cool for school (and Kelly), I guess I would still like to think he wouldn't go so far as to cheat on his girlfriend. I like the personality you've given Ryan when he's outside of the confines of Dunder Mifflin, I can see why he would be attractive to Pam, especially with her current awkward situation on this trip. I'm not really feeling bad for Jim so far since he is pretty much acting like a jerk, but maybe that will get turned around at some point in the future...
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I just wanted to let you know that I'm liking this a lot, and I can't wait to read more. Thanks for the entertainment : )
Oh, and how much do I love Dwight sneaking Angels onto the cruise?! So much! Hee.
