I've never felt prouder to know what "regicide" was. And yes, it has everything to do with the fact that I heard it on The Simpsons once.
Anyway, this was great. There's been a bit of Jim-induced rage going on, and this is a nice little insight into why we're getting front row seats to the Cold!Jim show now. I can't wait for an update!

Ok...I'm gonna have to look up regicide. But I LOVED this. There was something about that opening - talking about that killer instinct that Jim was never able to conjure artificially on the basketball court until THAT day. That was great. I also loved your description of what happened in the break room. Great stuff here. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Ooh, this is a Nasty New Halpert. And I am wondering who came in, of course!

Wow, I actually knew what regicide was. -feels like a dork-
Anyways. I can definitely understand Jim here. I'm part of the minority that doesn't blame Jim for acting like a jerk in TN. Good writing, with the kiss in the beginning, and adding in basketball.
Hmm, I'm curious to the stranger now. Write quickly! =)
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback.. much appreciated! If you feel like a dork, I actually thought of the regicide line first, and had to write the whole story backwards from there, so I guess that makes me the uber-dork! Thanks again!

Oh man. This was rough. But I can see him feeling this way -- hopefully subconsciously, because I really don't want Jim to be this harsh in canon. I interpret those same things as kind of a defense mechanism, but I bet subconsciously there is a little enjoyment there.
Who is the stranger? I'm totally wondering...
More, please! (And yes, I had to look up the word 'regicide'. *facepalm*)
