this is SO sweet!!! i love how he can't decide what to buy her, then a single white rose is perfect. b/c it's simple, everything their relationship could be but isn't. and that kiss? wow. then the hand-holding at the end! so sweet!!! i love it, in case you can't tell :)
i also love how almost all of us imagine her wearing the "Kelly" shirt on their first date!!! hehe i love so much that you called it that!

WOOOO! I love it, am bursting with aniticipation for the next installment. Please don't make us wait too long!
My favourite line: "Walking out on David Wallace was the first honest thing he had done in over a year." It really wrapped up so much in a simple statement.
As far as constructive criticism goes (I really loved most of it, I just want to share my opinion on this bit, I hope that's ok): I always expected Pam to be a little shy and awkward, even if just for a few minutes, when she walks out of the conference room after the talking head. He would have to come over to reception, rap his fingers against the ledge and show that he's really "back" with a little old-school Jam interaction, before Pam could really be sure that it was real.
Overall, I think it's stunning and am so excited to read more!

this is the last first date I will ever have.
Awwww I'm glad Real Jim is back and Dick Jim is gone for good!

So sweet and so Jim and Pam. I especially love the "this is the last first date I will ever have" line. This really seemed to keep them in character.

This line is too awesome for words: this is the last first date I will ever have. Damn straight, buddy.

oh sigh. i love that she told him to fix his hair... b/c seriously? homeless? what was karen thinking??? haha great chapter. can't wait to see what happens next!!!

I'd just like to say the bit with Jim remembering the first time he met Pam is possibly my favorite thing ever. Awesome job!

hehe i like this take on plotting jim. i can totally see him doing that. also, the breakup with karen was real... i'm pretty sure she freaked out if he did say something to her before he left.
Date: May 22, 2007 01:27 pm Title: I've not always been the best man or friend for you
Excellent. This line is my favorite "I told them you were worth it, that you were looking to finally make something of yourself." As if he's not good enough, just being himself - AAARGH! I'm glad we haven't actually heard that attitude from her in the show... what a terrible way to think of your significant other! Isn't that a book or a show or something? "I love you, now change"?
I like 'real Jim'. Nice story.
Author's Response:
Hah. You know, I think you are right. Thanks for the review!

I really like this chapter. I think you're right on target with Jim's thoughts. It's neat that he sees a sidewalk artist and thinks of Pam and her art show. I like that he doesn't like his evolved self, and we see him be clear with David Wallace. All very nice.
I just noticed your story notes - con crit only, because no one's making you read it - excellent point!
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad you like it. Part of the reason I had quit writing JAM stories was because of some of the nasty feedback. All that seems to be about gone. Glad you like the story.

Oh it sounds like a good start, and I can't wait to see where you're going with this.

Yes! This is exactly how I would love to picture it all happening! Thank you!

I like this...In my mind, this is very similar to what Real Jim would have done in the moments that the ep didn't show us. Can't wait to read more!

Nice.

Very nice start. I especially loved Jim saying "with her" in answer to the question of where he saw himself in 10 years.
