I love the idea of exploring Pam's journey through her art, and you brought a very deft literary sort of touch to it.

A friend just pointed me to this story, kasuchi, and I love it. Actually, I got lost in its quiet beauty--Pam discovering herself and finding her way back to Jim. Beautiful job.

ahhh...I think I felt as relieved as Pam did at the end...for as sassy as Pam got at the end of the season (which I know had not come to pass when you wrote this) she still has a lot of quiet sides to her and I think you captured that really well.  I really hope that they do some more with Pam's art next season; I want to see what her stule has become now that she is fancy and new, don't you?

Author's Response:

I think it's bold as love. *grin* Still, there's a softness inherent to the Pam character that I think is important for them to keep, and maybe her art will reflect that. But you can have a quiet piece with boldness in it; it's all in how you hold the brush.

Thank you so much!

Ooh, I thought this felt familiar - I must have read it back when you first posted it. But it was long enough ago that the reminder was welcome - I very much enjoyed it, again!

Author's Response:

I did write this a very long time ago, but I'm glad that even though the ending is pretty much out the window, that Pam is still right. I mean, yeah, it's not perfect and it might take an AU tang, but...I dunno. I like this one.

Thank you, for reading (and reviewing!) again.

Oh.  Beautiful.  I kept thinking... I feel like I've read this before, and then I saw your note.  So glad I'm not [completely] crazy!  Anyway, I want to see Pam's chalk drawing, and I DEFINITELY want to see the bush shaped like Babar!  Sigh.  This is lovely, did I mention that?

Author's Response:

Bushes shaped like Babar would be win. Seriously.

Yeah. I didn't get an account here until mid-May, so I couldn't post here. I know I've been recommended, though, by other members of the site. I figured it was time I joined the madness, as it were. :D

Author's Response: And, of course, thank you so much for your kind words. ♥

Wow, another stunning story! I especially loved the artistic detail, and the title is just perfection. Also, a Pollock joke! Haha, so perfect.

Author's Response:

Like I said, Jackson Pollack is either deep and meaningful or drunk. Take your pick. *laughs*

Thanks so much!

Wow, that was gorgeous. I liked the touch of Pam's teacher being Jim's old roommate, for some reason that really worked for me. I loved that Pam's progression in life was mirrored in her art and I especially loved the image of the trees turning into Jim's hands. Really lovely job.

Author's Response:

That image, actually, came from a book I read long ago, about a girl who works through her issues with art. I thought it would be particularly appropos for Pam to do the same. Plus, I'm a total geek for art.

Thank you very, very much.

Oh, how much do I still love this story? You've done such a great job with Pam here (not easy), and of course Emo!Jim gets Pollack.

I also wiki-ed "sfumato" this time and... wow.

"blending of colours or tones so subtly that there is no perceptible transition"

That is some brilliant titling, lady. :)

Author's Response:

Ah, glorious mid-season when writing emo!Jim was still cool. I miss it; it's so much harder to write these people happy. *laughs* That can't be a good sign.

I actually intended it to refer to her giant chalk mural, which she would have to sfumato to get the colors to blend. But, looking at that, I realize I am just much more brilliant than I give myself credit for. *preen* Kidding! That's actually a really good observation; I'll admit I wiki'd the term, too, just to be sure I wasn't confusing it with chiaroscuro or something. I suppose it must have stuck

Thank you so much!
