Excellent story Susan M! I really enjoyed it. And the nod to James Morrison. Yeah, I've been listening to him a lot and I find it hard to think of anyone else but Jim. Great job!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your kind review. I Love James Morrison, and I love Jim Halpert! :-) Thanks for reading!

OUTSTANDING!! I really can't believe this is your first fanfic effort! This is by far my favorite of all the first date stories I've read. I think you got the characters down well and I liked the FNB you created.
I liked the little links, too!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That's a huge compliment, and I sincerely appreciate it. Our Miss Beesly was so inspiring this season, and she was a huge influence on me for wanting to write this. I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

WOW! This is definitely my favourite chapter so far. Everything about it is so genuinely Jim & Pam - from "Jim wasn’t a complainer" to "Go Team Me!" - amazing.
And I love that Pam has "Jim" playlist - it definitely seems like something she would feel compelled to make on a lonely night at home after a day of Jim/Karen torture. Did you get the Wilco reference from Jim's iTunes celebrity playlist? It was an excellent addition.
Excellent work SusanM - I'm so excited about the last chapter. Thanks so much for writing :)
Author's Response: Aw, jacsonian is the bestest! :-) Thanks so much for such a great review. I knew that John Krasinski is a Wilco fan (and I am as well - their new album Sky Blue Sky is awesome!), but I did not know when I wrote this that Wilco was on Jim Halpert's iTunes playlist. I must be psychic!
Thanks again for reading!

wow,wow,WOW!!!
I completely and utterly loved it..cant wait till the last chapter. your writing is..so amazing and i cant believe it;s your 1st time writing fanfic...cause this is really unbelievable. All of the other 1st date fanfics i have read have just been really sappy and just..not them. you captured the essence of jim and pam perfectly..wow did i mention I loved it?? haha
-katie
Author's Response: katie! What a sweet review. Thanks so much. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. It's been a lot of fun to write it.

This was GREAT! first off, Jim Halpert could sleep on any furniture of mine anytime! i totally understand why Pam just sat and watched :) I love how she doesn't back down when he finds the Jim playlist. Them making dinner together was very cute. you captured their talent of just understanding each other. the dancing and the kissing were, of course, wonderful and finally, she stuck her hand in his SHIRT! hahahahaha!!!! TOO FUNNY! this is a great chapter. are you sure there's only one more left? i think you could keep it going... :)
p.s. sorry my review is 8 years long... but i really loved this
Author's Response: rulesofjinx! Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I really appreciate it. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the story. It was a lot of fun to write.

I learned so much in this chapter - what a chofa is, that you can bookmark discussions and how to make a fritatta. Oh, and "no dessert until after dinner". I think that was my favorite!
Author's Response: Yay, kaystar! Thanks so much. I'm glad I could help you with some vocabulary building. :-)

This is absolutely adorable. Sure, they have a lot to work through, but you captured the lightness and familiarity that I hope will still be there. I love all the banter and double entendrés. I really want to read the next chapter, though I'll be sad to see it go. You can just write another then. hehe
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your detailed review. To be honest, I'm kind of sad to see the story end too. Thanks for reading! :-)
Date: June 24, 2007 08:07 pm Title: Chapter 1: New York Minute
I think this was the best Jim Karen break-up that I have read. Keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Thank you very much for that kind compliment. I sincerely appreciate it. I like Karen, and I'd really like to see the writers do right by her like they did with Roy.
Thanks for reading!

"He had been running on adrenaline for most of the day, but now that he was back in Scranton, he found that his excitement had perhaps outrun his ability to plan his next move." Loved this line - loved this whole chapter! And the map Pam drew was nothing short of adorable. You are doing such a fantastic job - and the links at the end are a fun way to let us be part of the story.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for that great detailed review, kaystar. I really appreciate it. I'm so glad you liked the map, it was a lot of fun to draw.
Thanks for reading!

Fanfic is v. educational -- I never knew what a chofa was -- i always called that a chair & a half. How sweet that Jim was 'all tuckered out' and fell asleep! And I love the idea of the 'bookmark' for the conversation they need to have. And towels smacking. And for Pam being a bit embarrassed at 'sort-of' groping Jim. Adorkable!
Author's Response: Adorkable?! Well then, my work here is DONE! LOL Thanks so much, that is a very cool thing to say. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
Date: June 24, 2007 06:26 pm Title: Chapter 3: Those Sweet Words
Yup, still so good. Who knew making a frittata could be so hot? Jim asleep in a chofa (how crazy is that word?) - what a lovely image. And Pam admiring him and copping a feel and being all FNB sexiness? No wonder Jim adores her.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I really appreciate the feedback. This is a fun story to write. I'm so pleased that you're enjoying it.
Date: June 24, 2007 06:09 pm Title: Chapter 3: Those Sweet Words
Still good, good stuff - love the towel snap!
oh, and the chofa - I could really use one of those. And a Jim to curl up with on it, of course. :-)
Author's Response: Thanks, Moxie! I love Frisky New Beesly. :-)
All moms need a chofa -- and a Jim. He likes moms, right? :-P

Great job! One thought came to mind...awww!
Your story is very true to the characters of Jim and Pam. I could really see a lot of this on the show. So much so, that a scary thought occured to me. Please don't let him fall asleep on/before their date!
Keep up the great work!
Author's Response:
Awww... Thanks for such a great review, I sincerely appreciate it!
I think Jim will be okay on the show, unless Pam really does have a chofa in her apartment. LOL Their comfort cannot be denied. Poor sleepy Jim. :-)
Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading!

Wow - you've really done your research! I can't believe I never noticed the 'Smile' sticky note before. :)
I love this chapter, maybe even more than the first. Especially Jim's thoughts on the drive - I felt a little giddy for him!
Author's Response: Aw, thanks jacsonian! You know from my posts at OQ that I tend to be a bit on the
I'm glad you're enjoying the story! Yay for being giddy or Jim! :-)

I had to delurk from this community to say that I LOVE your story! Really nice touch to add the pictures at the end. Your story rang very true to how I imagine seeing the first episode of S4 (i.e. Karen break-up, drive to Scranton, etc). I am awarding you the Great Work Dundie!
Author's Response:
Awww, a Dundie for me? I just want to thank my love of JAM, because without them there would be no story. And also because of Dwight too. Finally, I just want to thank god, because god gave me this Dundie and I feel god in these internets tonight. WHOO! *runs over and kisses Jim Halpert*
Thanks so much for your kind review and for the Dundie. Now that you've delurked, I hope you'll stick around. :-)

Love the links at the end. I always think that adds to the story when authors include little details like that. Very nice again, but bring on the date already!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the story and the links. I am such a tease, huh? Okay, I'll bring on the date already. :-)
Thanks for reading!

i really love this. I like that you resolved things with Karen in New York in the first chapter, then we got to see contemplative Jim in the car on the way to Scranton. Of course we all know what happens after that :) but I like the end and the map and just how cute they are together. Jim telling himself to focus... then not so hard. it was just very funny. as are all of his thoughts. especially this: Hey, did she just look at my... mouth? I can so see Jim being kinda freaked out by that. this is sweet and i can't wait to see more :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your detailed and thoughtful review. I'm so glad that you're enjoying the story. It's been great fun to write it. Especially trying to get into Jim's head and see his reaction to Fancy New Beesly - now with bonus courage and honesty. :-)
Thanks for reading!
