"She needs something from him she’s afraid she’s lost forever, and she wonders if she can see him every day and survive without it." Poor Pam. This flows so perfectly into the sadness we saw Pam going through watching him with Karen every day.

Oh wow. This is just lovely -- heartbreaking, really. And I think you're spot-on here; I think Pam probably was haunted by all these things over the course of season three.
