SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
Welcome back, One Day. I have missed you so.
This is really solid, GMMBBG. I love the little changes you made, and the emotions really come full circle in this installment. I simply adore the fact that he can see she's disappointed, but still he just can't quite do it (TWSS). I also can't wait to see what happens at David Letterman's place. Will they see Paul Schaffer? Will they do a "Man on the Street" interview? Or will they have sex on Dave's lawn? All of these options are fine with me.

"Outside our little booth, the unspoken truth glares at us, desperate and itching to makes its way through the safe, laugh-filled bubble we’ve created for ourselves. But we don’t let it. We eat our Tex Mex burger and tuna melt (a first for me, I’m not sure I like it), talk about reality TV, and evaluate whatever stupid thing Michael did the other day. It’s how we exist; whether inside the office or at a diner in Stamford, Connecticut, this is us. And I’m starting to realize that will never, ever change"
What an incredibly beautiful and true statement. That was such an excellent description of the dance they do. I say YES for sure and it's been making me what to eat a giant candy heart for a while now.
I was just thinking about this story last night and wondered if I had missed an update so I tried to find it and I couldn't remember the name (I kept thinking "24") and I couldn't remember who wrote it (no offense) but I knew it was one of my top 10 favorite authors and since the list is in alphabetical order it took me a while to get to the "W"'s (although I was able to skip past Cousin Mose as I knew he didn't write it and Nomadshan since she's into the super angsty stuff now) so I eventually found it and was happy to see that I hadn't missed anything but sad that it hadn't been updated in a while. Then shazam, here's an update!

I love, love this story! I just really wish good ol' Jim would get the balls to just tell her already! lol Can't wait for the next chapter!

Pam and I make mild, meaningless conversation; the kind you make right after a huge fight when nothing’s been really resolved but you decide to go on with your lives anyway. Outside our little booth, the unspoken truth glares at us, desperate and itching to makes its way through the safe, laugh-filled bubble we’ve created for ourselves. And I’m starting to realize that will never, ever change.
Holy... guh...
WOW.
So, it's not enough for you to come back and give me an update; you have to wallop me across the brain box with something as brilliant as that paragraph right there? :)
Whew... *Mose takes a moment to collect his thoughts, which are currently lying scattered about the room in a general state of higgely-piggeldy*
Nope. Can't do it. I can't form a coherent thought just yet. But know this, my dear Swiff: Out of the park, do you hear? You knocked this chapter out. of. the. park.
Also-- WOO HOO! For stalking Letterman! :)

Just FYI, Letterman lives in NY now. Westchester County. He runs on my high school track every morning.

Aww! You're back! I missed this, Wendy Blue. These two just frustrate me so much!
What a sweet Valentine surprise. Two candy hearts, please!
Author's Response: Good to be back! Glad you enjoyed it, I promise payoff will be coming soon!

I check this every day hoping I'll see 2:00p.m., but so far.... :(.... I'm so hooked on this! You've done a wonderful job and the cliffhanger you left us with is almost unbearable. Please update soon and put me out of my misery! :) Did I say I loved this story? Yeah, I love it!

My face is mopey too as I keep one eye on the clock knowing that their 24 hours are about to run out..... I'm so glad that Pam came back. I bet death by fork in the neck is painful and messy.

As you know, SHWOP, you've slain me with another cliffhanger, but I'll fight to survive so I can see how this kickass story ends!!!!
More, more, more, please! --CH

ARRRGG!!! Well, thanks for making my day. Even though you captured Larissa the best way I've read so far, and Even though you captured mopey Jim so perfectly, and Even though you made a very quick update,
I still want more! :D Sooo good.

Whew! I actually don't hate you because at least she came back--assuming that's Pam who walked in... There had better be another update soon, missy, or there will be hell to pay!

I loved the interaction with the sister in this chapter. You've created a fantastically kind, yet quick-witted gem of a character here. Personally I'd love to see more of her, but I realize there are JAMmy-er things to get too! :)
Great job as always! I can't wait for more!!

I won't hate you if updates are coming. Yay! They're talking! That's a good start!

I don't hate you... well maybe just a little - but in a good way. This was another good chapter, but I'm missing the Jam interaction. Roll on 2:00!

Swiffer! Are you KIDDING me??!? I wake up to find an update! WOO HOO!! :D
Now, why in the world would anyone in their right mind hate you for this chapter? It was great! Love Jim's observations of the other patrons contrasted with his own sense of confusion and patheticness. :D And, call me crazy, but I like to think that Jim saw himself in the old guy--if only for a split second or two. I don't know. Maybe it was the way he thought about "routine" and "tradition." Anyway, it was a nice touch.
But the highlight of this chapter was Jim's conversation with his sister. I adored that she answered the phone "What did you do?" as if it was the most common thing in the world. Made me laugh to beat the band, in the parlance of our times. :D
Anyway, I'd really like to know what happens next, so, if you don't mind??...

update more NOW thanks. I totally thought you were gonna end it like this. And then I was going to jump into the story and stab myself with Jim's fork. Maybe after kissing him. And a cup of coffee.
But that's besides the point. Update!! it's great.

I just read this from start to where you are now, and I am extremely impressed with the entire thing, cliffhangers and all! At times I'm smiling, others not so much, but you've handled it all beautifully with a very interesting concept and amazing dialogue. Great work !! :)
Author's Response: Wow, thanks so much! Way to power through 17 chapters :) Glad you're hanging in there and still enjoying it, thanks for reading!
Date: January 14, 2008 10:47 pm Title: 1:00 PM
Ah! This is wonderful and awesome and made me just as giddy when it ended as when I saw it had been updated.
Author's Response: Well, that's good to hear! I was afraid I'd be shunned once it ended at the cliffhanger; glad that wasn't the case! Thanks for reading!

As soon as I saw this nonsense: 1:59, I thought "damn you, Wendy Blue! Just when I was all wrapped up in the JAMmy goodness you end the chapter!" And then I felt bad because you knew everyone was going to say that since you felt the need to include: Please don't hate me.
in the end notes. And you know what? I so totally don't hate you :P Keep truckin'!
Author's Response: Aww, thanks for the mercy, secondrink! I know it's terrible of me, but I promise to bring lots of JAM interaction in the next chapter. Thanks for reading!
Date: January 14, 2008 09:52 pm Title: 1:00 PM
I hate you, you told me not to, but how could you leave it there!!! Your killing me!!!!!!
Author's Response: I'm sorry! The next chapter will redeem me, I promise! Thanks anyway for reading :)

They have so little time left, and now Pam's gone and they've wasted an hour. I like that this gave Jim the chance to say what's in his heart interspersed with his anger, fear and worry.
