Yep! I'm sure there was a giddy call to Pam's mom post - "Then it's a date!"
It's nice to see more of Pam's mom in a story -- I hope we see some more of her on the show.
Author's Response: Thanks for your interest. As I said earlier, I liked the character of Pam's mom and really would like to see an episode with her...maybe Pam introducing Jim to her family. Ditto, for Jim's family.

What a wonderful relationship Pam has with her Mom. I hope we see her again in S4.
Author's Response:
I was always intrigued by the brief glimpse we saw of Pam's relationship with her mom. Hopefully we will get to see mor eof it some time down the road.

I love this for many reasons, but what I love the most is that you ended the conversation with "I think I am!" That's such an awesome throwback to Casino Night. I love stories about Pam's Mom and it's great to think about how she'd feel about them going out on a date. This is really wonderful :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much. Originally I had written the "I think I am" line earlier in the story...but as I read through it I thought it would be a really nice way for Pam to end this particular conversation with her mom. Glad you appreciated it.

I really liked this. I've always loved the close relationship Pam and her mom have (even if we don't see it much) and this illustrates it well. I especially love how you pave Pam's journey through the eyes of her mom and you just wrote it really well. Awesome job.
Author's Response: Thanks! I liked the idea that Pam's mom has been "on" to what's really been going on between her daughter and the paper salesman for a long time (as evidenced in ""Sexual Harassment" back in the beginnig of Season 2) but that she was the kind of mother (the best kind) who knew that Pam had to discover and address her true feelings for Jim on her own and in her own way...mistakes and all. I like to think that Pam's mom was a sort of gentle, behind the scenes guide for Pam throughout her journey of discovery in Season 3, giving her daughter the sort of quiet encouragement that kept Pam on track to becoming "Fancy New Beesly".

Oh, this was great. I'm sure Pam's mom was the first person she called with the good news. I would love to see Pam's mom make another appearance this season.
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed it. Given the look of unabashed surprised joy on Pam's face at the end of last season's finale, I just couldn't see Pam keeping it all to herself, not when we already know how much "she loves her mom!" I like to think the all too brief glimpse we saw of Pam's relationship with her mom in Season 2 was still enough for us to understand a little better why Pam is as wonderful as she is.
