This is a fascinating read so many years on, and especially knowing what comes in Season 9 - you seem to anticipate the fault lines of the conflict ahead.

so sweet! i want a Jim. But what pam says is just so sweet and perfect.
And what will my life be in 10 years? eek!
Author's Response: Hehe, same here, I'd love my very own Jim Halpert as well. It's so scary to imagine how life will be in ten years, isn't it? Sigh. Thanks for reading, Emily, and for your always kind words. :)

I always love the idea of these two talking late at night, in the dark...and this really captures that sense of intimacy. Nice follow-up to the 10 yr convo - and I like that you open with Jim assuming they'll still be together then. That's a given IMO, regardless of whether he's Philly Jim or any other Jim ;-)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words, Colette. And I absolutely agree that they are stuck with each other now. :)

After the whole 'I don't plan on being here in 10 years' discussion, along with the 'where do you see yourself in 10 years' question in "The Job", I am really interested in what Jim wants to be when he grows up. All he's wanted for so long is Pam, now what? (And how freaking awesome is it that they are together? And who will they become now?)
So help me, if the most amazing season ever of the best show ever isn't started back up soon I may hurt someone. But fic like yours will go a long way to helping me keep my cool. Nicely done.
Author's Response: A complete yes to everything you wrote. More than anything in the world, I absolutely want to see Jim's growth and what he wants to be and how Pam will play a hand in it. I'm hoping beyond hope that we'll see that soon. Thanks so much for reading, Lisa. :)

I found that quote inspiring too oobadnama. I like how you chose to act on it. Long live romance - in all its forms.
Author's Response: Absolutely. Thanks for reading, jinx. :)

So good! I really think something like this must have happened off screen after the episode ended (because as we all know, Pam and Jim really exist...)
But yeah, Jim would definitely ask Pam the "10 years" question. Nice work :)
Author's Response: I think so too. I'm so glad you you liked it, Shan, and thanks for reading! :D

Okay, Amanda. It's official. I love you.
Author's Response: :D I love you too, Lindsay. And you're awesome. And thanks for reading. And yeah. Hee.

Oh, I liked that. I am really digging Jim's journey and I hope we get to follow it after the strike is over.
Author's Response: Oh, me too. Which is why I'm hoping this whole strike business ends sooner than expected. Thanks for reading, Jenn!

I'm glad that quote inspired you (I think the football photo accompanying that article was pretty inspirational too) : ) Thanks for another great read.
Author's Response: Heee, I agree. And I especially enjoyed the basketball one as well. :) Thanks so much for reading, Nan. I appreciate it.

Oh this is brilliant. A really great little post-ep moment. And I totally saw fic potential when I read that quote of John's in the Men's Health today! :)
Author's Response: Thank you, SS! Oh, absolutely, and if not the article, most definitely the pictures. Hehe. :)
