STL--I'm a few days late in my promise to read this, so damn me, right? But here I am, and I'm so happy I came (TWSS)! This was really a splendid chapter. You capture a brilliant Creed; his initial chat with Jim had me in stitches. I think the 03/03/03 party was great, and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to reveal their answers to the quiz. You deserve props for writing a good "pain scene," too. This might sound odd, I suppose, but the language and imagery you used to convey Jim's broken nose and Roy's all-fall-down moment was fabulous; I could really see (and hear!) the whole thing going down. Well done, my friend, and good luck with the next installment!! I'll be the one over here waiting with a pitchfork. --CH

My favorite chapter thus far! Poor Jim, that was a pretty rough flashback.  Nothing like being left broken, bleeding and alone.  You've got quite a knack at writing angst.  I'm "angst-ious" to see where this will go from here.  Thanks for sharing, post more soon.  :)

I am MORE than happy to help whenever I can! :) As I said before, really liked this chapter. Love the craziness of Creed and then the hallmark-ness of his answer to question 19. Great job!

that. was. awesome.

capybaras AND chupacabra!  you're amazing, lou.  ;)

Author's Response: LOL, Glad you liked it!  I hope it came off sort of believable...despite all the joking, I wanted it to at least be somewhat solid literature, haha.

stl, it took me forever to get to reading this, and now I'm glad I did!  I have to run now, but I can't wait to read the rest soon!

Holy crap! Did you do a whole fic based on Dante's Inferno? I just...I haven't even started reading it and I'm so excited!

Author's Response: Yes...well, I've started it.  Not done yet, but hopefully I'll get there sometime. :)  I hope your excitment didn't wane once you started to read it, sharky.  Looking forward to hearing more from you. :D

Wow, this is really really good - the last 2 chapters with Jim's flashback/memories were excellent, I especially liked how you captured the intimacy of Jim lifting Pam up to put the star on the tree. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response:

Thank you Jordon!  I'm glad you liked it...I thought the tree star thing was something very Jim and Pam, intimate but not terribly so as to go past the friend boundary.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the story as much!

This is a really interesting story, but I am seriously, seriously confused. Michael said Jim wasn't dead, but now he's in hell? Can you perhaps clarify for me?

Author's Response:

OK, I probably should have clarified a little better before.  Jim is not dead.  He mentioned that he wasn't certain if it was a strange reality or just a dream...but to help you out a little, it's definitely a dream.

I actually looked up the Inferno on Wikipedia last night, so I could understand the basic story.  None of my teachers or professors ever had us read it.  I'm really excited to see where you are going with it.  It's a welcome distraction from finals!

Author's Response: Thanks, pizzagirl!  I'm glad you enjoyed this and I hope you like the rest of it!

I really like your writing and the flashback was adorable I've never read that book but I might try it now

Author's Response: Thanks for the positive note.  I'd recommend reading it, for sure....perhaps the 2nd greatest piece of literature I've ever read, after the Bible.

Great story. stl ;)

Author's Response: Thanks, RF.  I hope you enjoy Chapter 5 and onward as much as the chapter 4.  Glad you decided to give it another shot after the first chapter.

What an intriguing twist! I really like the concept for your story, even though i only have a rudimentary knowledge of The Divine Comedy. You write the dialogue of the characters and the inner-dialogue of Jim really well. I am so very curious to see where you take this - whether or not you are going to force Jim through the rings of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven, or whether you have a completely different ambition for you story. Either way, it is very interesting reading. I hope there's more soon!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like it so far, epiphilly.  I think my latest posted chapter should explain a little bit of where I'm going...I hope that's the one that will keep you more entertained!  Thanks for the review. :)

I like how you write Jim! I can 'catch' the male perspective coming through, and I'm enjoying it. I'll be looking for chapter two! Good job.

Author's Response: Thanks.  I'm glad you enjoyed it so far, RA...I've got lots of ideas for new chapters and should be posting one a day, so long as I can write a new one to replace it in the backlog each time. :)

Wow, what an interesting and ironic twist! I can't wait to see what happens when Jim gets back to Scranton.

Author's Response: Jim's got a little ways to go before he gets to Scranton ;)....but I hope you enjoy the journey he takes to get there!

Nice writing and I am looking forward to seeing where you go with this :]

Author's Response:

I appreciate you reading and reviewing...if you've read the story, you can probably guess about how it's going but I've got a few different twists to spice things up.  I hope you enjoy the rest of it!

Wow, I really, really enjoyed this. Who knew my Humanities studies in University would come in handy when reading fanfic (first Homer and now Dante).

I enjoy your writing style and this is a refreshing new spin on Jim's journey. I'm looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you!  Glad to know I helped you put your education to good use in another different way!

This was an excellent first chapter.  I love how you've skewed things slightly and gotten Karen out of the picture more quickly.

I can hardly wait for Jim and Pam to re-unite in your AU Office world!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Beeswax!  There'll be a tiny little blurb with Karen later on, but she's definitely out of the main thread of the story.  He he he.
