When Karen said she, I began freaking out. I love this!

that was pretty good. i know this sounds creepy but i have thought of karen as a lesbian before....it kind of works for her. don't get me wrong i like karen, but yeah....overall it was good.
Author's Response: Yeah, it's the pantsuits I think ;) Thank you!

imaginary swords of regret and provocation || as if she’s water rippling around a fish in the ocean
Those two phrases caught me so much I had to copy them out and save them. It's funny how Jim thought Diane reminded him of himself when I thought she reminded me of Pam. This was so well done; what a great way to revisit Karen. Very believable, despite not having any canon hints about lesbian leanings.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much!
Pam, huh? I can see that. Of course Jim and Pam are a lot like each other in some respects.

Love it! Jim's awkward confused and surprised reactions to Karen and her new life were kind of perfect. And this was a very believable and promising Jim/Pam fight and resolution.
Author's Response: Thanks! I think that Pam and Jim (when the show finally returns. Curse you NBC!!) are headed toward an impasse. Jim is still awaiting his character arch, and whether that will leave them going in two different directions for awhile... well we'll just have to wait and see ;)

He turns around to see Karen clip-clopping toward him."
"For everything you could say you’re sorry I’ve already forgiven you and the rest I’m never going to, so it’s really not an issue.”
"He’s thinking about the girl at home with the curly hair and paint-splattered jeans that’s probably thinking he hates her right now, that he’s completely in love with, and he realizes he has to fix this."
Such amazing lines. Really enjoyed this.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!

This was amazing. Jim running into Karen looking terrible after a fight with Pam is pretty much perfect irony. Plus, I always had the feeling that Karen might go lesbian after Jim.
No mermen please. Dwight's scary enough as it is.
Author's Response:
Thanks! Irony seems to trail these characters everywhere. I think it's the pantsuits that give it away ;)
That he is.

Wow... uh... yeah. :)
BAHAHAHAAHAAA!
*ahem*
Sorry, couldn't help it. The premise of this is just so funny on so many levels! And apart from the feather ruffling the karenites will surely feel at seeing their patron saint playing for the other team now (which is gratifying on a whole 'nother level!), you've really managed to tell a solid and convincing story here. Your characterizations are believable, and there's just the right mix of humor and angst. What more could anyone ask for?
Great job!
Author's Response: lol Thank you so much! I think it would be gratifying to see Karen as a lesbian. I'm not quite sure why exactly, but it's almost like I can like her without pitying her. Jim could be the only man for her, but that's not really a problem when you start batting for the other team, right? :D

I truly loved this. It had humor and passion--two great qualities in any story, I think. Such fun to read. Great job.
Author's Response: Thanks!

Ha! This is so great! I love how you handled reentrance of Karen into the picture. I think the hardest pill for me to swallow with in regards to her and Jim was that I liked Karen. For the most part, all that was wrong with her (in terms of Jim) is that she wasn't Pam. And you've shadowed this into the background of her run in with Jim at the grocery store. They both know they don't belong together, they're both happy now with their respective partners, and while Jim obviously still feels bad for how everything went down with Karen, seeing her again reminds him of how much he wants to be with Pam. And Karen's right: there's nothing Jim could say that either she hasn't already forgiven him for or won't ever forgive him for.
So, in conclusion, this was delicious, silly, funny, heartfelt, and full of a certain kind of closure that really lets these characters move into the next phases of their lives. Awesome!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I think that in another universe Jim could have been happy with Karen, and they would have made great friends. I'm just sad that they couldn't make it to that point.
