I know this was written three years ago, but I can't believe something this well written only got one review. I can't speak for the Pam POV, but I thought you captured the guy's perspective on rejection spot on. A very well done story.

Well, that was so sad, but you wrote their thoughts so well. I could really feel Jim's desperation as well as Pam's realization that she had just thrown away something very precious. Good job and thank goodness we're all past that now! :)
Author's Response: I tried to write the story as a rush of thoughts and feelings of loss and pain and desperation on both Jim and Pam's part...I'm glad you seemed to have reacted to that. Thanks for the positive feedback and yes, I think we're all pretty thankful to be past all that!
