I loved this. Of course, the end was sad, but it would be. You did a great job showing the situation. Poor Jim. My favorite lines were "I have nieces" and "It gets harder to date as you get older."
Just a lovely story, malcom lake. I'm glad you let it out. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad you enjoyed it, even though it's sad - ml

God, this is just heart-wrenching. Lovely story and very believable.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! Yeah it was a little rough for me to put down, but it was one of those things I just had to write - ml

awww. that is sad. it is probably what would have happened if pam had married roy. he wouldn't ave been a good dad at all.
Author's Response: Roy would probably say he was a great dad. He would point out that he works hard and buys her presents - that's what his idea of a dad is, at least from what I saw in the show. Jim likes and is interested in Pam as a person, so he'd be more in tune to what she needs and he'd be amazed by her kid. Just different people.

You were right, this really was sad! Wow. I was hoping that maybe it would turn out differently, since Pam gave her "I really don't understand Roy" opening, and the hand holding.... you know, that could happen in a second chapter.... were there to be a second chapter. The last chapter was about the saddest I've read in a long time.
Author's Response: Yeah, an unfortunate truth in advertising for this one. It just didn't seem true to me to go for the happy ending. My other stories are much fluffier, though. Thanks for reviewing.

aww...oh my gosh sooo good...can't wait to read more of your stories
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. This wasn't an easy story to write. The other stories are happier, hope you like them

Oh wow. That was heartwrenching. But really, really a beatiful story. I loved the last bit, with the intertwined hands and Pam's whispering to Jim "not in this one". Really really brilliant work!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad you liked it. I just wanted to write about that point when you just know that nothing's ever going to happen. Maybe some folks have been there before.
