*sigh Sweet!Jim, how do I love thee... very nice way to end the night. I am really enjoying the progression of this story.

Phew! Jim being a gentleman and being a good friend to Pam is just what she needs right now. Thanks for the nightcap, wendolf!

wendolf, again, you're just amazing. Like I've told you before, your attention to the smallest details are what make your writing to incredible. Well, one of the many things. When you were describing how strong Pam felt about breaking up with Roy when she was at work with Jim, then the difference when she got home and felt safe with what she had.....I've lived that, (as I'm sure many of us have), and you described it beautifully and realistically. Can't wait to see what's next.

Argh. What a place to end it. Sir Jim the Gallant to the rescue and a hint of smut in the air. I am going to hit refresh a hundred times tonight in hopes of getting my smut needs met!

Oh that was good one, if short. Good ol' Jim to the rescue! A bit convenient, but I'm in the mood for steamy fluff, so I don't mind a bit ;)

I think it'd be pretty swell to wake up tomorrow morning to a new chapter of this pretty spiffy story. Just saying.
I'm so jealous of how good and original this is. I could never write this great, which honestly, makes it more fun to read. So keep at it, it's been a real treat reading your work. :)

Katy with Daryll WOW. Can't wait for the next.

Awww good boy Jim :) Take care of her! Hopefully we get another one tonight, if not I'll try to be patient!

What a perfect place to put those words. Excellent!

Isn't it great to be loved, wendolf? Seriously, don't mind us, you just write what you need to write, take the time you need to tell the story you want to tell.
We know this didn't ruin Jim's night -- and he deserves more than a random hook-up -- he has Katy for that. Heh.
ANYhow -- just wanted to say I am enjoying this look at Pam realizing that Jim is a sexual being and she deserves to enjoy that to it's fullest. In due time.

Best fic version of Booze Cruise. Ever. Seriously. I loved how you turned this around. I love how we are seeing this all through Pam's eyes and she is oblivious to Jim's feelings for her. I love how fed up she is with Roy. I love how HE is the one she said "I can't" to this time. I love that you update so quickly...hint hint ;)
Seriously, you rock. This story rocks, and I've got nothign to do tonight so....I'll be hitting refresh once or twice, that's all I'm sayin'.
Author's Response: Thanks, kells. Really. Glad this version of Booze Cruise was satisfying ;-) Thanks so much for reviewing!

This brings to mind Michael's rejected proposal to Carol at Diwali. Waiting anxiously...

I'm so late leaving a review for this, I'm ashamed of myself.
This is such good, clean writing, it's such a pleasure to read. And it's so nice to read a Pam that's seeing Jim as more than a friend when she SHOULD have, when any normal, red-blood American woman would have. Great, great job.
Author's Response: sweetpea, such a compliment from you. Thanks so much. (Sorry I'm so slow with my review responses -- lazy, lazy, lazy, I know...) And thanks for the "clean writing" compliment. That means so much, truly. My former journalism professors would be proud. ;-)

Woo hoo! Thank the dear lord! It was so nice to FINALLY read what the appropriate response to Roy's lame-ass "proposal" to set the date should have been. Roy is such a schmuck and so NOT Jim Halpert that it's almost painful.
I love reading the Pam side of the JAM "crush" in a way that actually makes her aware of how much she gets from Jim that she's not getting from Roy -- and also, the awareness that Jim isn't just the better man, he's the sexier man too! You've done a lovely job taking Pam through the stages necessary to realize that marrying Roy -- with or without Jim in the picture -- would be a mistake.
Love this story -- looking forward to more!

YEAH! Roy gets an "I can't" instead of Jim!!!! WONderful!

Good for Pam! Now Jim can't be dense right? Please tell me he goes after her!? You and this story are both awesome!
Date: March 12, 2008 03:46 pm Title: A Different Kind of 'I Can't'
Now that's what I'm talking about! That "I can't" I can live with!
Date: March 12, 2008 03:33 pm Title: A Different Kind of 'I Can't'
I admit: when you said a different kind of I can't. I imagined I can't as in Jim saying, I can't hold on...ahem. (If you know what I mean, and I think you do.) But your version was much better for building the tension. So, okay - I'm headed out to meet friends for drinks. When I come home, you know where I'll be looking....not to pressure you or anything ;-)

i am almost embarassed to tell you how freakin excited i am for the next part!
Date: March 12, 2008 03:25 pm Title: A Different Kind of 'I Can't'
Now, that is a much more appropriate time for 'I can't'. Or a worse time, at least for Roy.
