From what little we've seen of Melissa...she wouldn't be a very easy kid to have. ;)
Thanks for reading and reviewing, lisahoo! :)
I love that Stanley compares his daughter to Michael Scott. That's amazing. Living with a kid like that would help Stanley to practice ignoring everyone around him. And I love that a simple request from Sara made Terri so unbelievably happy.
Great job! I can't wait for the next one!
Ha! What little I've seen of Melissa makes me think she is trouble! She's certainly oblivious to why a girl in her mid-teens should not be running after a guy in his late 20s. And we've seen just a little bit of her attitude toward Terri; hopefully she'll outgrow that at some point, like I have Sara doing here.
I'm really glad you liked this, sillyrabbit519! Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
This fic brings back the childhood memories. I'm glad you used Palm Sunday to explore more of Stanley and Terri's life. God, Melissa must drive them batty, no wonder Stanley ignores all the work drama.
Nice job with this!
Ha! I hope they were good childhood memories, EH, and not bad ones!
I think Melissa would be even a tougher teen than most. Imagine the odds on that one getting pregnant - yikes. ("Hi Ryan. How are you doing? I've, I've missed you.") I was glad we learned a little bit about people's religions in Fun Run -- it made writing this one easier to know someone was Catholic.
Thanks for reading and reviewing, EH! :)
Very nicely done! I enjoyed all the different elements you captured here - Stanley at home, how happy Sara made Terri with her request and Melissa being a typical teenager! It was nice to learn about the palm branch and Ash Wednesday traditions, too.

I'm glad you liked it! It's fun to write people in other situations, I think. Given what little we've seen of Melissa, I think she gives Stanley (and even more so, Terri) a pretty rough time! I don't look forward to the teen years with my children. :(
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, kaystar! A Stanley-story isn't exactly "must-click" for a lot of people; I really appreciate that you did. (You're such a supportive reader!) :)!
I like the series, keep them coming. This was a nice slice of life character piece.
Author's Response:
Thanks, Swedge! You know how people are always demanding more Stanley stories, too, so...er...um... ;) Actually, I guess this is the third Stanley-centric story I've done ("Stanley, off to the Poconos" and "MLK Jr Day" are the others). That probably makes me Queen of the Stanley stories.
I'll keep slogging along with the holiday series; it's sort of a challenge I've made myself. (Next up -- not a Stanley story.) I think it's kind of nice that they're pretty different from one another. You never know what to expect from one of these stories. ;)
Thanks for all your help, Swedge, and for reading and reviewing. :)
No regrets here! I'm just glad you're still willing to put up with me, especially when you're the one who does all the reminding. ;)
Anyway, I really liked this. I love how you worked in Terri's relationship with the girls, as well as more about Stanley's inner life. Especially since we see so little of that on the show. Nice work as always, Kev!
Put up with you? Hah! Just try to get rid of me! (No. That is the opposite of the point that I'm trying to make.) ;)
It's fun to make up little backstories about the characters, isn't it? With the little characters like Stanley, there's probably not as much likelihood that a backstory would be refuted. I'm glad we found out a few of the religions of our office workers in Fun Run; that made this story a little easier to do. Then again, without your first beta (um...you need a little more here...), I wouldn't have added all that stuff, and then when Swedge beta'd, he suggested saying what happened to the first Mrs. Hudson. I did toy with "buried somewhere only Stanley knows" for a while, but...nah. I decided to go with a serious approach. ;)
Thanks for reading and reviewing, Azlin!
I can just hear Melissa now: "You know, I never asked to be Catholic!" How very teenager of her. Nice job, TLK! From what little we've seen of Melissa...she wouldn't be a very easy kid to have. ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing, lisahoo! :)
