*sigh* i love you. you write the most amazing things. i want to go on and on and on about what i love about this, but i have a hard time putting it into words. it's just so GOOD. every SINGLE thing about it is perfect. he loves her. he just does. and that's enough. and i love that he's scared and that it's not just an easy slide into happiness, but a debate that is won hard and fair by his love for her instead of his fear. and i LOVE so much that she quotes him and strips off The Shirt. love it. i could go on for days, but i won't. i love this so much and i can not wait for you to update again. the wait for this was WELL worth it :)
Author's Response: thank you thank you! yeah who knew this would turn into such an old softy love story?? I'm really really glad you liked this and took the time to review. A girl can use all the encouragement she can get and I'm very happy that the wait didn't seem...not worth it. Thanks again, you're awesome ;-)

Nora Roberts?!?!?! NORA. ROBERTS. It's official, I love you. (I want to know which book he's read, btw...)
This is just greatness. I don't know where you're going with it, but I'm enjoying the journey!
Author's Response: lol ;-) Just thought I'd toss that little homage in there. Thanks for enjoying the journey, it's almost over, but I'm glad you've liked it so far!

My god. I have NEVER read anything like this ever before. No offense to my other favorites, but this is simply extraordinary. I felt like I was watching a movie. It was so intense, passionate and absolutely beautiful, Stablergirl.
Sometimes bad boys turn good, he guesses, and sometimes good girls aren’t as good as you think. Now isn't that the truth?!
He looks down at her and he wonders for the thousandth time how this happened to him and how he could ever be this kind of man. And then he moves inside of her and he sighs and he lets his forehead fall against her shoulder because even though honesty is hard for him there isn’t room for anything else. He lets her comfort him with her sweeping fingers, with her soft, dry kisses pressed careful against his neck, and with the gentle and easy cradle of her hips. That just takes my breath away.
I am truly in awe of your limitless talent and so honored that you choose to share it. I wish I could rate this higher than a "10."
Author's Response: thank you SO MUCH I'm really glad you liked this one because it's a little off track from the rest of the story, so it's hard to say what people will think, and of course some don't like it, but I'm so glad you do ;-) thanks a lot for the review and the compliments.

Exhale and have a pop tart! This one was gorgeous. I love to feel needed, but this one was just you, cooking on high heat.
Author's Response: thanks sweetpea ;-) you did a little magic in there, come on, give yourself credit. lol. ugh yikes, two more to go...

Well, that was just......wow! Your word associations create these wonderful pictures of emotion and feeling that really do make me sort of hold my breath in anticipation of where you're going to take these two next....and I'm a guy!
Author's Response: lol always nice to find out a guy likes it too. that must mean I got something right ;-) Thanks so much for the review!

Meh.
First 26 (or so) chapters were, frankly, the best this fandom has ever seen. But please don't draw it out longer than necessary. I dunno, not feeling it lately. ugh.
Author's Response: Relax, it's going to be 30 chapters and that was my plan from the beginning. Ask my beta. ;-) Seriously I get what you're saying and I totally respect that, feel free to think the story ended like four chapters ago. I'm just too romantic at heart not to wrap up some of this inner-angst they have going on with the issues and the confusion, so that's what I'm doing. Two more chapters to go. Thanks for reviewing and reading this one, I'm glad you liked it, at least for the first 26 chapters... ;-)

So worth the wait.
When I didn't think it could get any better, you wrote this.
Author's Response: Thanks, kate, I really appreciate it ;-) Glad you liked it!

Wow, I think I held my breath for that entire chapter. I could beat David Blaine's new underwater record. Anyway, Stablergirl . . . God. Just stop already. This? And then he moves inside of her and he sighs and he lets his forehead fall against her shoulder because even though honesty is hard for him there isn’t room for anything else. Killed me. Seriously. (BTW, I posted something today! Weird...)
Author's Response: lol I noticed that you posted something earlier!! so weird...timing, hmmm... ;-) Anyway thank you for reviewing this one and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'd say I held my breath the entire time I was writing it, but I actually think that's physically impossible. But maybe...

"He can see the way that she knows he’s too open and she knows that this is a thing she has to handle with care. She knows."
KILLER. Glad you took your time with this one...Jim and Pam are taking their time with the sex this go round, so why not you with the writing? :)
Anyway, this chap kindof seeps into your pores, it's very PRESENT if you get what I mean.
Author's Response: I do get what you mean. thank you, crystalized, glad you liked the slow and steady pace of this one. It felt like an important chapter so I didn't want to rush it ;-)

Holy.....
I mean, jesus. I have no vocabulary to discuss what you've done here. Go, the journey you've taken Jim on is just so heartfelt and incredible.
I can usually talk for hours about things I love that people write, but all I can say here is that it's full of feeling. I literally cannot articulate my appreciation and enthusiasm for what you've done here.
This chapter changes everything. It stands out, apart from a story that is phenomenal, which is saying something.
Just, awesome.
Author's Response: ugh this review just totally killed me thank you so much. seriously, this chapter is really dear to me so I was afraid to read the reviews ;-) but yours was like the second one and so kind!!!! Thank you so much, I'm glad it impacted you. A couple chapters to go...

WOW. Just....wow. What an AMAZINGLY awesome transformation you've had Jim go through. Talk about humming and thumping - I could literally feel the electricity of this chapter as I read it. You are such an amazing writer, I just completely lose myself in your story everytime you update. Awesome job!
Author's Response: thank you so much. yeah I wanted this one to feel electric so I'm glad you felt that going on ;-) Thanks for following this story and for reviewing!! I love it and it keeps me updating. I'm really happy you liked it!

I LOVED!!!! this part, but where is the next one?!?!? Please post more soon! It's too amazing to let it sit here!
Author's Response: worry not, bee sly. I just posted the latest. and thanks for this review it's so nice to know people are waiting for updates. thank you thank you.

Ohhhhhhhhkay. Ashes. My brain has totally turned to ashes. I have a more or less strict rule about not reading WIPs and I totally broke it because of the buzz about this story, which turned out to be 100000000% true, and now my brain has turned to ashes with HOW FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL this story is. What an original concept! How magnificently executed! Every single detail rings true, even as I am sitting here reading and saying to myself, "Self, this is not Jim Halpert. And yet... it is. It so is." I love your take on these two--a sharper, more intense, less sweet but still believable interpretation of Jim and Pam. You render them back to us through this prism of angst and lust and uncertainty and the slow discovery that they are soulmates after all, with all their insecurities and faults and love.
I am just in totally freakin' AWE of what you've done here. I read all the chapters up to here, with this chorus in my head of "Ooo. Gotta remember to quote that phrase and tell Stablergirl how cool that is. No, wait, I'll quote that one. No this one. NO, gotta be this one..." until finally my head went all 'splody and I couldn't pick out one or even a dozen phrases out of so many to praise. I love the hate turning into love, I love Heather, I love love love Steve, I love the bar-girl-chasing Jim and the insecure, self-loathing Pam and I love the people they are growing into under the influence of one another. This is just so fine. I can't wait to read the rest. I'll stop now, I'm gushing, but that's all your fault 'cause you turned my brain to ASHES.
Author's Response: NEJ! Thank you thank you for this amazing reveiw!! I was so excited by it, I can't even tell you. I'm glad you're reading this one, despite it's WIP status, and I promise you I am working dilligently to update regularly, so hopefully it won't drive you insane ;-) Seriously I was inappropriately happy about the fact that you left me this review! Just great, thank you a thousand times over. And I'm also really really happy that you like the story because that says a LOT.

Ok, you’ve left me with another case of review postponing because this chapter is so good that I’m not sure how to respond. So I’m sorry if this isn’t as thorough and coherent as I would have liked.
I love the idea that this newfound relationship makes Jim reevaluate his life as illustrated by the autobiography idea. How he suddenly feels the pressure of having to grow up, of dating a girl with depth and contrast (sweet and sour) rather than uniform, less than intelligent bar-girls.
And now for today’s continuity observation:
She doesn’t touch the radio on their drive to the restaurant and he’s glad, so he looks over at her and grins and she looks back, happy. He likes her happy. He feels totally taken with it, and he feels partly responsible for it and god…that makes him proud. Or maybe pleased. Or just…
He’s happy, too, he guesses.
Happy.
What a fucking foreign concept.
Very nice call-back with the car radio and how Pam, as opposed to previously, decides not to touch it. I like how this shows that they’re both evolving to from these independent and to some extent selfish characters to humans who pay attention to each other’s thoughts and feelings. Not to mention they’re happy about this change and don’t resist it.
Finally, I like how Jim feels comfortable enough to open up about his past despite the fact that it still haunts him. He even jokes about it, not as a means of keeping his real emotions at bay but as a result of him realizing that hiding and keeping things locked up doesn’t really work in the long run. Not to mention he now feels that his life has purpose and that there isn’t any reason to be hiding anymore:
And instead of leaving he laughs, instead of running he stays. Instead of pushing her away he smiles and he lets this happen to him because sometimes hiding from life is too tiring. Sometimes he wants other things, and maybe he’s been waiting for this all along and he just had no idea. He wonders if he’s been waiting for this.
Can’t wait for the next chapter. :D
PS. On a completely different note, I just realized that for some reason I always end up writing reviews on Friday night.
Author's Response: guh what a wonderful review, as always. You're awesome. This review is awesome. Don't ever stop reviewing or being as awesome as you are ;-) Ok no seriously though, yeah I thought calling back to the radio was a nice way to show that things have shifted a little between them. Not a lot, just enough. Thank you thank you for this review and for the great attention to detail you show, it means TONS. TONS. I'll say it again, TONS!

Oh my gods please tell me that Steve and Heather hang out together! Because that? Would be amazing.
Love the idea of the secret fancy Hollywood table because Jim's a regular. And the effect That Shirt is having on him. And the confession about his brother. (Did not see that one coming.) Have I mentioned lately how easily you could publish this with other names? Honestly. You should submit it.
Author's Response: just for you? steve and heather totally hang out together. lol. and also thank you!
Date: May 01, 2008 11:16 am Title: Just hang on now, let me catch my breath and take my pants off.
The penis talk is the star of the show! You couldn't keep going without discussing it!
Man, Heather really should be a new addition to the show. Love her!

You got through it! Quite nicely, I think. I mean, poor Graham but he's just the Karen figure in this world. Needs to be got-through and that's it. I love the extended cat metaphor. So perfect.

I as well has to register an account because this is hands down one of the best fan fictions i've ever read (and take into account the fact that I am an avid Harry/Hermione reader) ok so I couldn't go away from this story and not review it. I was wanting some good jim and pam ff and I knew more than that could definately fix that. So I was looking at the most recently updated stories and stumbled across yours. I read it in 2 hours and...I just...I don't know. I feel the same way as I did after I finished reading Gone with the Wind, so I don't know if thats saying something but I just had to tell it to someone.
well anyway. you are an amazing writer and this story now owns me.
I will be dying for the updates!
:)

I had to sign up for an account just to post a review, because this is the best story I've read. I check multiple times daily for updates! I wasn't sure about the concept, but thought I'd give it a try, and then 2 chapters in I was completely hooked.
You've got a very cool take on Pam and Jim, and I love the inner monologues. They feel very authentic. Just the right amount of angst and humor, and it really makes me crack up to think of Toby always on his cellphone to god knows who.
Please keep writing! I have to know what happens next.

This has most definitely become my favorite MTT story of all time! I absolutely love this Pam & Jim you've created! Even the "character actors" like Steve and Heather are flushed out and realistic. This story is so funny and sexy and FUN. I hope you write about 300 chapters!
Here's your star rating:
***************************************************************************************************************
Author's Response: lol wow thank you!!! I'm so happy you've enjoyed this new Jim and Pam! Sadly I think there are only about two chapters left, but hopefully they'll be good ones. And whoa, thanks for all those stars ;-)

Okay, new level of funny sexy! LOVING this story. You are the bomb, Stablergirl! (sorry, showing my age...)This part kills me: "Instead he just says “Wow,” and he leaves it at that, but he figures she gets it because she looks over at him and blushes a little and grins and digs through her purse for something…some kind of potion probably or maybe like a fucking pair of handcuffs or something since she seems to just be one surprise after another." So. Much. Talent.
Seriously.
Seriously.
Author's Response: lol I'm happy to be "the bomb" jamfan. thank you!
