i thought this was really great. very intimate, detailed...loved the interweaving of lyrics with story, and the ending was NOT expected but really fantastic. favorited, if i may. :)

No, but by the time they are in college they do. Okay, no clothes were off. At all. Everyone was fully clothed. But, there were two guys who played guitar, and we had nice little hall singalongs at like midnight in the dorms. But everyone remainded clothed. But it sure did make said guys seem so much more cooler. :)
But I love that Jim uses it when introspective. It just feels right. I don't see him really as a rocker, or anything. I see him more just strumming it. God I am falling even more in love with a fictional character!
I love gutarist Jim. I can see him, it is so wow, nearly magical.
The entire paragraph about Hurt. Wow. I swear, its like. Wow. Can I nominate a paragraph for amazing award. Because that one. Means so much.
I really have to download some of these songs.
And, My Guitar Gently Weeps is on like my favorite CD ever. It was a CD my friend made me as a gift. And it means a kajillion things to me.
Wow. And then the end with the Pam thoughts. Wow. Like. Wow. This is seriously your first story? I am totally jealous. This was AMAZING.

I've read this 3 times now and I simply love it. You've got a knack for this, so I hope you continue writing. I'm glad you made Jim a good musician. Imagining him play Hurt and then downplay his ability almost made me cry. I had to look up a lot of the songs, but they are promptly being downloaded for a JAM playlist. Sad how much this show owns me.

I absolutely adore this - probably the best Jim-with-a-guitar fics I've ever read - especially since I get kind of put off when everyone implies he's terrible at his music. :P
But this was really marvelously written - the songs you've chosen are just right, the way you get both the characters is just right - I loved the way you have him putting it down, saying it's no big deal, because I can see him doing it, and I can feel why Pam doesn't like that - she's been through the same thing. Just - the entire thing is just [pardon the pun] pitch-perfect, and it practically oozes it. I can't telly why it's perfect - it just is. And I enjoyed reading it thoroughly.
Also, Jim playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps may be one of the sexier things I have ever imagined, yesplz. :D
Forget great job for a first time fic - this was a great job, period. I loved it.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it so much.
I like to think Jim would be/is good at whatever he does--he's a great salesman, he's good looking, everyone loves him (Pam and David Wallace said so), he's great at basketball, he even co-organized The Office Olympics. So why would guitar be any different?
Yeah, if I saw him play While My Guitar Gently Weeps, my brain would probably break from sexy overload.

So yeah, this would be an amazing compilation for any avid music listener. Heading off to download them all now (well, the ones I don't currently already have on my playlist). BTW, great story too. Jim and Music are love, for real. :)
