I've been reading fics at MTT ever since it opened and never registered. But I finally had to, just to review this story! Not only is it sweet and angsty, but as a Canadian (a fellow Canadian, I'm assuming), I'm sure getting a kick out of this visit to Halifax. I know I'm only on chapter 10, but I had to comment because this iPod scavenger hunt is too cute! Plus, now I really need to listen to 'Ordinary Day'. Just thinking about it puts me in a good mood.
I also need to comment on the Stars songs used in your chapters names. They're one of my favourite bands!
I'm sure this story will only get more fabulous as I go along! Keep it up ;)
Author's Response: Awww... thanks! I'm so glad you've liked it so far!!! Yeah, I'm a Stars junkie too -- how can you not love them? Anyway, thanks for registering and reviewing! Wow!!! You sure know how to make this (fellow) Canuck smile! :D

*squirms impatiently* Yes! I'm ready! I love imagining exactly how smugly proud of himself Dwight is feeling right now :D So I take it Dwight found a wat to engineer the ring into the coat pocket?? I've really loved this story - it's been awesome
Author's Response: Thanks! I hope to post the last chapter today -- sorry for the delay! I'm glad you liked it, and I hope you like the finish. :D
Date: June 18, 2008 03:23 pm Title: Fight Off the Lethargy!
Hi
While I agree that Jim has been wishy-washy about a lot of things in his life (his job, his relationships with Katy and Karen), we have never really seen him waver in his feelings for Pam, so I think that's why people are saying it's OOC for "season 4" Jim to be backing away from his kick-ass proposal and gravitating back towards Karen (although he seems to be changing his mind about that now...). I will wait with interest to see where you are heading.
Author's Response: Oh now I get it! haha That's a fair assessment. But I still think that men can get cold feet if they are madly in love with someone like Jim is with Pam. I kind of pictured the situation as a game -- for years, he's been chasing Pam unsuccessfully. One day, it pays off, and rather than enjoying what he's got, he starts worrying... Either way, he may have wavered, but I always promised a good ending and I will deliver. It was just a bump in the road! :) Thanks for reviewing!!!

You definitely have painted Jim in a different light in this story. I will stick with it untill the end. I'm glad that Jim is not like this on the show though. Too wishy washy and weak minded IMO. Pam needs to give him an earful.
Author's Response: Hmm... well I disagree with you. There are a lot of instances in the show where he could have stood up for himself and he didn't, and I also think he used Katy and Karen both to kind of "get back" at Pam for being with Roy -- those strike me as being kind of wishy washy and weak moves, don't you think? If he were really that strong, he would have done something sooner, I think. Anyway, there are precedents set up in the show that I followed through with in my story, so I really don't see how it's that different. I don't think I misread these characters badly enough to warrant all the comments about how OOC everyone is. But it's your opinion and I thank you for taking the time to review, even if we do disagree! :)

oh come on!!!!! you'd better be posting another chapter PRONTO :) I'm really loving this - I know it might not be entirely in-character for the show, but I was proud of Karen for just bowing out rather than pushing the issue. Props for that. Also, I completely agree with you about Dwight's JAM sentiments. I think that's something that's been slightly shoved under the rug regarding S4 - how much the Jim/Dwight relationship morphs into something much deeper and more meaningful. Ok I'm done philosophizing! Update!
Author's Response:
Haha, well I would have posted another one last night but I fell asleep... but another chapter will follow shortly!
I had so many versions of this chapter! I hope I chose the right one... but I can't please everone all the time, right?
Date: June 12, 2008 03:53 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
Hi. Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm REALLY glad you don't write for the TV series! Interesting version of events though.
Author's Response: Haha, wow I must either be doing something right or going horribly wrong to be getting so many comments like this! Yeah, I'd probably turn the Office into a drama in no time, eh? Well I hope it gets better for you -- the end will pick up!!! I just had to get this dramedy thing off my chest, flexing the literary muscles is all... hope I haven't totally turned you off the story though!
Date: June 12, 2008 07:57 am Title: In Time I Will Come Around
I don't understand why after everything he and Pam are going through that he'd still be hanging out with Karen. I really just want to smack him around a bit.
Author's Response: Well... I'd like to think it's a good thing that my story makes people have such a reaction... not that I intended to incite violence... haha, but yeah -- like I've said before, it's just a confusing time for them both, and even though people don't like it, in reality things like that happen. I'm just staying true to what I believe is a plausible real-life storyline. But you won't need to smack him around -- I have a feeling a few characters within the story will get to him first! :)

I read this story on the other board but am not registered so I never commented. Now that you are posting new ones here I can give my two cents. I really liked it and I understand journeys people have to go through but this last chapter seems too OOC for the Jim you set up in this story. If you have decided to not have a happy JAM ending then I see where you are going. If Jim can't stop seeing Karen then Pam needs to be strong and move on herself. Sorry if this sounds harsh it just seems like you are doing too much of a 180 with Jim. I know I don't have to read but darn it you have pulled me in and I can't seem to stop!
Author's Response: Hey -- thanks for reviewing. Yeah, it's an intentional shift... we all act stupid sometimes and make mistakes, and I figure why should Jim be any different? He's trying to move on, not really sure what is happening (because all the cards seem to be in Pam's hand, right?) and in the process, he tries on some new "clothes" to see if they fit... and something makes him realize they don't and never will, and that's when he snaps out of it. If I may beg to differ, I don't think it's that OOC... it's just a human reaction that I think we haven't seen from Jim because the writers of the show haven't written this into the storyline. I hope you like it anyway! :)
Date: June 11, 2008 09:37 pm Title: When You're Gone, Will I Lose Control?
Boo angst... (hooray beer!) sorry, bad joke. I do think you have a point though - rushing from one relationship to another is HORRIBLE (been there, got that t-shirt). Your angst comes with purpose, so we're friends again. :P
Author's Response: Yeah, rebounds suck... but not necessarily always and forever :D I can't deny my fans a JAM flavoured cotton candy fluffball of an ending, so stick around -- it'll get better! Oh, and thanks for continuing to read even when we weren't friends -- much appreciated! :P
Date: June 11, 2008 08:12 pm Title: 'Cause the Chase is All You Know
We're not friends anymore.
;-) jk.
Author's Response: Hilarious! Can't win 'em all, can I? haha
Date: June 11, 2008 05:17 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
NO! Where is the playlist?
Author's Response: http://www.playlist.com/node/34686013 -- ENJOY! :)
Date: June 11, 2008 05:16 pm Title: Beautiful Disease
yes Jim, it is wrong that you haven't been able to stop thinking about Karen. STOP THINKING ABOUT KAREN! Are you about to create angst Lindsay?
Author's Response: Maaaaaybe? haha
Date: June 11, 2008 04:48 pm Title: So Many Ideas Travelling Around in Her Head
Yay Jim and Pam! Yeah, the weird peripheral character stuff you mentioned being unpopular must still be later, cuz I really love this :D And yay Dwight. I almost want something actually horrible to happen in the office so Dwight can be all strong and aggressive without it being in the least bit ridiculous. That would make my day :)
Author's Response: Hey thanks! Yay!!! Have you listened to the playlist that goes along with it? It's a great addition to the story, in my opinion (obviously, or I wouldn't be using it! haha). Anyway, thanks a ton!
Date: June 07, 2008 04:09 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
Sweet story...I'm enjoying it :D.
Also, I've been listening to that playlist nonstop - you've got some fantastic music on there! I've always loved Feist, Stars, and Sufjan, but that was my first encounter with Lights. I'm going to have to go find that song and put it on my mp3 player!
Author's Response: Fantastic! Yeah, the songs are a bit ahead of where the story is right now on this site, but I'm glad you're enjoying it nonetheless. And yes, Lights is fantastic! Thanks for the review! :)

This is such an amazing story! I am in love with the way you use simple language to flesh out beautiful scenes.
You've also inspired me to buy some flowers and hand them out. That's such a sweet idea, and such a great way to make someone's day!
Brava!!
Author's Response: Thanks Callie -- the idea for the flowers came from a friend of mine... she is full of beautiful ideas, but this one is just too nice to NOT do, right? Thanks for taking the time to review. :)
Date: June 06, 2008 03:27 am Title: To Be Alone With You
Wow! Another incredible chapter. I like how you threw Roy in there and I like that he quickly left, too!
More please!
Author's Response: Yeah, he makes a few more appearances... but I think he's gone for good after that! :)
Date: June 05, 2008 09:13 pm Title: Collecting Moments One by One
What an incredible little journey! Also, as a Canadian, I loved all your music picks.
Can't wait for the date to end all dates!
Author's Response: You're Canadian too?! Where are you from? I'm not from Halifax (Edmonton born and bred) but I wanted to set something there... I hope I did it justice. And yes, Canadian music rocks, in my opinion. :) Thanks for reviewing!
Date: June 02, 2008 09:12 pm Title: The Night Starts Here
I'm really enjoying this story. I can hardly wait to see what Jim will write!
Looking forward to more!
Author's Response: Great! I'm glad to see that I can still drum up interest in a storyline! haha -- well you shouldn't have to wait long. I'll probably post the next few chapters tonight! :) Thanks for the review!
Date: June 01, 2008 12:08 am Title: Things Will End Before They Start
yay this is a good story! I love Pam writing her "name" over and over :) Keep going!
Author's Response: Haha, yeah I liked that part... I mean, we all do it, right? So why not Pam? Thanks for the comments!
Date: May 30, 2008 09:31 am Title: Prologue (Part 1)
Nice writing very much in character. I look forward to reading more of it. I'm writing my own fic: after the fireworks. If you get a chance to read it let me know what you think. I really like how close your story mirrors the show.
Author's Response: Hey thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm glad to hear it sounds believable -- it's hard to do that because the writing on the show is so amazing. I've started reading your story and I like it a lot, but I'll post my comments there! :D Thanks again!
Date: May 29, 2008 11:06 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
oh great start. I can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks! I hope to post again tonight, once I get a little more used to the formatting controls! :) Stay tuned!
Date: May 29, 2008 09:04 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
Nice job! Interested to see where it goes :)
Author's Response: Glad to hear it! It gets better, then it gets bad for a little while... but I don't like sad endings, so don't worry! Thanks for reading! :)
Date: May 29, 2008 04:07 pm Title: Prologue (Part 1)
Thank you for posting this! I'm so glad you did! I'll re-read this here as well as ff.net!
Author's Response: Thanks for pointing me here -- I'm glad I posted too! :)
