I usually avoid angst-y fic (or anything angst-related in general) but your summary made me curious which I am glad. The description of Pam alone in her "cozy" apartment is just so heartbreaking. I really liked the part about the teapot, especially since the Jim who gave it to her is so different from the Jim of S3. Great job!

I have to say that I kinda like this miserable, pissed-off Pam. As you mention, I think it has something to do with images of deliriously-happy, pregnant Pam ; )
Something about the Earth giving her an extra bit of oomph at random unexpected moments, but at the same time if you worked hard enough and had all the right ingredients, you could earn it for yourself. I like that--very clever.
