Oh, delicious, and pretty much what I imagine happening. Can't wait till you're proven right ;)
Author's Response: Oh, I hope so! I'd be unbearably smug if I were proven right, though! Thank you- I'm glad you liked it!

I really needed to have Jim get angry and defend the Scranton people, especially Pam. Not that it needed to be to Karen, but it would be nice to see him say out loud how much he loves them (although he kind of did in The Convention). Well done!
Author's Response: Thanks! I just wanted to see Jim find something in Karen that he couldn't overlook (so we can get rid of her), and it seemed natural that it would have to do with the Scranton folks. They are his family.

Well, THAT was satisfying. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks! It was fun to write the bitchy stuff and especially fun to write the getting-rid-of-Karen stuff.

"she's clearly seen the softer side of Sears."
That, my friend, is absolutely brilliant. I laughed out loud. And I love Karen's perspective - I wouldn't doubt that's exactly how's she going to feel when she gets there.
Great job!
Author's Response: I wish I was the brilliant one, but we'll have to credit Joss Whedon with that line. :) Karen's perspective was all mine, though- I'm so glad you liked it!

WOW. Holy crap, just WOW. You completely answered my prayers in writing this story. I made a comment about Karen and what her possible observations about everyone might be in a thread on TWOP, but you hit it on the head -- I totally KNEW she was going to hit Pam ("The softer side of Sears?" HAHA. Was that the insult you referred to?)
Anyway, it's funny, because I just got to that point in something I'm working on and reading this I thought, "Oh my God, I'm not the only one -- it's going to be so obvious to Karen that Pam has feelings for Jim when they merge." YES, just ... yes. Thank you.
Author's Response:
Hee, I'm glad I could help! Thank you for your enthusiasm.
Yeah, that "Sears" comment was a classic quote from the first episode of "Buffy" and I've loved it ever since.

Oh gosh. I loved this. I loved how defensive Jim got about the crazies at the office and how well you captured cattiness and distaste in Karen!
"Jim recognized the truth of her assessment, but the vehemence of her disdain was shocking."
That was great! Of course, to any outsider that is exactly how things would look, but we, like Jim, have gotten to know and love these people despite their very obvious flaws. You did an amazing job capturing how this sort of conversation could easily go! I loved it.
And it helped that I don't mind having a tiiiiny excuse to dislike Karen. ;)
Author's Response: I really want to hate her, too, so I figured I'd give her a mean, catty streak. We don't know her character well enough to know if this is OOC or not, right? :)
