Very sexy, and VERY likely. Practically canon in fic form.
I will also have you know I have sort of forgotten since first reading this fic that indisko is not their canonical word for having a thing in their shoe.

". . . a familiar warm rush spread across his chest, lifting the weight of the day and clearing space in his lungs for a deep, calm breath."
Wow, this so vividly describes the relief Jim feels when he realizes that she missed him as much as he missed her . . . . when he realizes that "out of sight, out of mind" does NOT apply to their relationship . . . when he KNOWS that Roy's presence was NOT enough to make her forget him.
This was one of the few episodes where we see Jim lose his cool over Pam, one of the few times where the camera catches his despair and longing for her.
"Heat surged up his body and into his face. He cycled through her messages again. And again. He lost track of how many times."
This is a powerful and believable image of that longing continuing into the night.
And the story wraps up on a lighter note with: "Beesley, come on. I remember everything." and "It's like a Mary Poppins bag in there, you have no idea."
Great, poignant, heart-gripping glimpse at his pain!
Author's Response: What a lovely, lovely review! Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this for me (and of course for reading to begin with)! I feel such cozy warmth reading your review (I may have read it a few times). Thank you. <3

This is so good. Stories set in seasons 1 & 2 always make me wish I could hug Jim and tell him they'll get there eventually.
Author's Response: Thank you! I really appreciate your comment! And I hear you, although I really like watching those seasons and reading fics from that time because...well, we've all been there. We've all felt that sting, that kind of longing, and there's something about connecting with those pieces of ourselves that is really powerful. Thanks again for your comment. Glad you enjoyed this! :)

I already sang this fics praises at AO3 but I'll repeat them here, this is really good. It's like you took the looks Jim had on his face at the end of this episode and extrapolated them into a fic, the joy he felt that Pam left those messages and that she's missed him as much as he missed her, but also the inherent sadness and loniness that at the end of the day he was still going home alone. "Real and Imagined" is just such a perfect summation of this time in the JAM story. I'm thrilled you came here to MTT and that you have lots of JAM plots ideas, can't wait to read more!
Author's Response:
You are too sweet! *hugs* Thank you so much!
A lot of my fic tends to be episode related and canon compliant--gap fillers, post-episodes, etc.--so I try very hard to make that connection between canon and fic. Reading that you felt that canon moments were extended well into this fic is some high praise indeed, and very rewarding. What you describe is definitely a big part of what I was trying to convey. Thanks again! :DÂ

Oh my god! I absolutely love this -- I actually read it over a few times. Such an amazing glimpse into the aftermath of the voicemails. And, I loved your characterization of Jim. I love that his overly active imagination twist the moments between him and Pam. I truly hope you continue writing!
Author's Response: Oh, wow, thank you so much! This means a lot to me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've been a part of a bunch of other fandoms, but this is my first Office fic, and it's so lovely to read such a nice, encouraging comment. And rest assured I have pages of Jim/Pam plot bunnies I plan to write! Thanks so much for your comment, and for being so welcoming!
