That was fun. No real other way to describe it really, just good fun. Very good writing to bring the scene to life. Good interactions with everyone and it was very clear who was saying and doing what.
Author's Response: Good. I was definitely aiming for fun :)

Very fun cute interactions here. More Halperts should also be interesting to see as well.
Author's Response: Thanks!

While I love that Pam and Jim got some alone time, I'm just as entertained by the three of them together as well! It was good to get a bit of closure on the Roy situation as well.. let's be real, I'd block his number too.
Author's Response: Yeah, I'm disappointed in canon!Pam that she didn't, to be honest. Dude had ten years of your life...that doesn't necessarily entitle him to more.

Those last two lines though. So good!
Author's Response: :D Thanks!

Good balance between describing conversation and zooming in so we can listen in on conversation. Nice to have Jim, Larissa, and Pam bouncing off each other like that. Good idea on how to keep ex-fiance's out of the picture too. Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thank you. I dislike maudlin Roy and had no intention of writing him, but someone (I think BigTuna?) said they worried the phone was going to be him, and so I very much wanted to dispose of that concern.

At first I was going to comment about how I wished the dialoge was written differently, but after reflecting I think it works better that there are only those two lines there at the end of the chapter. After all it's a chaper about introspection and the way this chapter ends with those two lines highlights that.
Nice to see Jim get one step closer to getting out. This whole story has been a lot of fun and it seems to be heading to a very nice way to wrap up. Well done you.
Author's Response: That was the effect I was going for, so I'm glad you found it works for you. Thanks for reading!

I totally wasn’t thinking “just read the letter already, Pam!” through that first half. That’s just me being impatient though. I loved her powers of deduction.
And then she read it and it didn’t disappoint! Well done!
They’re so dang cute together in this. I’m going to miss this story when it’s done.
p.s. - hope the move went well 😊
Author's Response: Haha. I must admit, I had been setting up a lot of Jim the previous chapter so it didn't seem fair to make Pam jump right into the card. But I too was wondering when I'd get to it ;). Glad it didn't disappoint! And yes, the move went well, thanks.

That was very sweet. I can very easily see that what you've written here was what was written on the Teapot Card. It was interesting to see all of Pam's mental gymnastics leading up to reading it too. It's always interesting to see what's going on in their heads. I wish I had more jellybeans to give, but I'm all jellybean'ed out on this story.
Author's Response: Thanks! I've thought a lot about the card, so I'm really glad my version made sense to you. Thanks for your consistently valuable feedback on this story.

Aw I can’t wait to read what is written on the card! I always love to hear what different people think he wrote.
Author's Response: I'll be interested to hear what you think of my version! Thanks for reading.

The note! While I really think taking it with him and burning it in Australia is something he would have done, I'm really glad he never made it there. Now I can't wait to see what it says!
Author's Response: I hope that what I wrote works for you :). I do think Jim would have gotten some solace from that sort of ritual, though of course in canon he never did it (since it reappears later on).

Aww, the teapot card. I imagine the next chapter is going to be all cute and fluffy. Nothing wrong with that at all. Still being kind of new to the fandom, I don't think I've read any other fics where an author wrote out their version of what the card said. It'll be interesting to see for sure. As always, looking forward what comes next.
Author's Response: I'll admit to cuteness and fluff. There's a lot of fics that do this with the card, though I think most are much older, circa the time the Christmas episode first aired. I recommend checking them out!

Oh Jan. I was about to be really mad at her for shattering their work-free bubble but she turned out to be pretty helpful by the end there, didn't she?
Here's hoping Jim thinks this is good news too?
Author's Response: Of course he does :)
Date: July 05, 2018 08:42 pm Title: June 13: Jim's Room
I really like here how they're handling Jim's transfer to Stamford like adults and not freaking out over it.
Author's Response: That is important to me too, thanks.
Date: July 05, 2018 08:38 pm Title: June 13: Jim's Room (ICU)
Aww, they're flirting!
I really liked Jim admitting that he had been unfair to her with the choose me or lose me mentality he had on Casino Night.
Author's Response: I think that's a really important part of their healing, so thanks.

Very creative solution to an interesting problem. The image of Pam doing a little jig in the hallway was also quite cute to see.
Author's Response: Thanks! I like the image too.

Go Pam! Look at her, all assertive and asking for what she wants. That’s so exciting! I have to say, I thought it would definitely be Roy calling but I’m glad that it wasn’t!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'll explain why we haven't heard for Roy soon :)
Date: July 04, 2018 07:01 pm Title: June 13: Jim's Room
Aww, very sweet and cute. I like seeing them start to plan their life together like this.
Author's Response: Thanks. I like these two, and they didn't do nearly enough talking in the show about topics like these for my taste (or at least not enough up-front talking, rather than middle, oh-shoot talking).
Date: July 03, 2018 01:04 pm Title: June 13: Jim's Room (ICU)
Good chapter here. I like how you've gotten them to get things in the open like that. It's a great way to see their relationship progress. It's fun to be fluffy and cute, but one of the draws of Jim and Pam was that to me they felt more real than other TV couples. Real couples need to have serious conversations like this and you did well in that regard.
Author's Response: Thanks. I agree that one of the joys of JAM is that they can actually talk about real things as well as banter and fluff. I'm glad you see this conversation moving in that direction.

Okay I was insanely busy for the last however many days and just caught up. I love so much about these last several chapters! Helene and Jim finally getting the meeting they deserved, the simultaneous remembering that Jim works in Stamford now, the hint of the conversation they were going to have about it, and the “Around the World in 80 Days” reference! I love that book, too. As always, you’re amazing. Keep it up!
Author's Response: Thanks! I love Around the World in 80 Days too, so when I was trying to figure out how I could undo how long I'd said it would take the Halperts to get back I immediately thought of it.
Date: July 02, 2018 05:46 pm Title: June 13: Cafeteria
Who doesn’t love a good Dwight impression?!
Author's Response: Neither Jim nor Pam doesn't! (Yay double negatives).

Oh, I liked Pam comparing Stamford to Roy here, and her internal struggle with which was worse. That was a really great section and a new way of looking at the situation.
Author's Response: Oh good. I wasn't sure how that comparison would come across, so hearing this is a relief.
Date: July 02, 2018 05:41 pm Title: June 12-3: Jim's Room
Ugh, Stamford.
What I love here is that Jim and Pam are so happy that she can’t even leave his room to let him rest, but that’s fine because he won’t sleep because he can’t stop looking at her. You’ve nailed down the best part of a new relationship even if they are stuck in a hospital.
Author's Response: Thanks! This is an element I feel we missed a bit in the actual show because of the summer break, so I like adding it in here.

Pam’s pro and con list is pretty dang great! So is that ending, aww 😊
Author's Response: Aww, thanks!

I really love this chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! So do I. :)
Date: June 30, 2018 10:18 pm Title: June 12-3: Jim's Room
Ok, so the question still remains, what IS Jim going to do about Stamford? Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for that one. Also looking forward to the next time Jim and Pam are alone to talk. Not that the time with Larissa isn't fun, it's just that it seems you've got Jim thinking he's going to want more alone time with Pam and those kind of scenes are usually good ones.
Author's Response: I have an idea in mind for how that will be resolved (I have to admit, it's not original, I've seen it in other fics in the archive, but I won't tell which ones just yet). But they will definitely talk about it, even more than they have in the chapter I just posted (which is admittedly short on that particular conversation). Thanks for your feedback, both now and throughout this process.
