Awww! I really liked this story and this was a great way to end it!
Author's Response:
Thanks so much! It got some hate at the beginning, but I had lots of fun writing anyway. I'm happy you liked it!

At long last we bring this one to a close. Pam quitting TV acting after everything she's gone through with this seems to fit. Feels like she finally got a handle on herself and what she really wants out of life. Really liked that she did continue acting just in a different way though. Nice to see that.
She and Jim look like they're in a great place too. once they finally got everything out in the open and were honest, they could build a relationship worth having with each other. Nice to see that.
A bit of a roller coaster for sure with this one. You did great in bringing it all together though.

Ha, was literally about to submit this for the next round of features! Glad to see you back around these parts, Kuri.
I really appreciate the Pam-Clare scene, both because I think it's nice for someone from Pam's "real world" to acknowledge that she seems happier in her new life and because of the realistic take on what making it as an actor means. Jenna Fischer would approve. (I was actually struck by that a lot, how Pam's journey ends up being Jenna's in reverse.) And having her still get the chance to get the acting bug out is a solid grace note.
I liked the way you wrapped this up a lot. It's a conclusion the show never could quite commit to about how some people are happier in steady, "smaller" lives and that's a healthy and positive choice for them to make. Different and quite nice.
Looking forward to whatever you come up with next!
Author's Response:
Thanks so very much!
I wanted to finish this story earlies but... well life.
Anyway, yes! That is exactly what I was trying to do. I don't think everybody needs an expectacular happily ever after, and I agree with you that the show seemed to not get enough of "small" lives, for all they're worth.
And looking at my own small life, I disagree. Pam loves acting, and there are many ways of doing just that without the stress and drama. Without the red carpet, as well, but, hey, she's happy. Even Clare sees it.
Thanks so much! It's good to be back!

Loved following this story from start to finish. It was a nice spin to the entire premise of the documentary and it was amazing seeing Pam and her inner turmoil because of feelings that she was having for Jim.
Great job here!
Author's Response:
Thanks so much! This story took a lot of time, because it was a bit difficult to make Pam a little... mean, I guess?
Anyways, thanks again!

Just caught up on this and it is excellent! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Author's Response:
Thank you for reviewing! I'm glad you like it.
I should update this one, only life keeps getting in the way. Thanks for reminding me :-)

So it seems like Jim is mostly over how upset he was at Pam. He's willing to giver her another chance at least so that's good. Feels like they need this to get back to a baseline with each other. Though it remains to be see if Pam will stay at Dunder-Mifflin or not. Pam sticking around his place though? I think I see some of their earlier sparks starting to fly. Great to see. Can't wait for more.

Okay, Pam, in Jim's defense, he did fall in love with someone who turned out to be an actress planted in his workplace to make a documentary more interesting. It's not THAT crazy to think you might be playing him still. I've got to say I don't have much sympathy for her lack of patience here. You owe him the answers to these questions and should forgive him a little doubt, lady.
The exchange about him holding it against her for the rest of their lives is really sweet. As was the dialogue at the end. It's lovely seeing them to try to reapproach their relationship like this.
Author's Response:
Oooh! Absolutely!
Pam is not my favourite person at the beginning of this interaction. But then again, she showed him she means business when she said she'll quit, she's been waiting for months, is puzzled about his recent actions, and partially afraid she's not reading this right. So she jumps.
But then she doesn't :)
Thanks so much for all your support!

I love this story so far - can’t wait to see where we go from here! C’mon Jim, you KNOW her feelings weren’t just acting!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I like you love it!

Feels like a lot of subtle things are going on here. Jim's keeping his distance, but then that email about jellybeans shows up. Pam's playing her role but if feels like something else is going on in her mind. Then we get to Casino Night and....nothing big happens. At least not yet. However now she's free of the cameras. I think Jim knows that too. He also knows her relationship with Roy is a sham. The next bit of this should be very interesting to say the least.
Author's Response:
I was considering skipping Casino Night all together, but it's a very cute chapter, even without the whole Jim/Pam situation. Also, it was fun writing it and then... nothing happens. But now the cameras are gone.
Thanks so much for your support!

Striking irony here - if Pam could've kept up keeping her distance from Jim after the Roy thing, she might've been able to get the show canceled and get off the hook without putting herself in this uncomfortable position. Ah, the things we do for love.
I love the build to a very different kind of Casino Night with a very different relationship with Pam and Jim and building to a very different sort of deadline. Very much looking forward to seeing how this one ends up playing out...
Author's Response:
Yeah! She could've prevented it all, but then Katy came in and Pam thought she could outsmart the network. Silly Pam.
I was about to skip Casino Night altogether, but they are so cute, I couldn't!
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! It means THE WORLD!
Date: May 29, 2021 12:02 am Title: Waking up, the letter, and a savior
On the bright side at least he's talking to her. Still all things considered I think he has a right to be angry. His trust has been betrayed. However Jim is also a decent person. Even if there's more than a few selfish bits in there, he also doesn't want Pam to go through anymore undue stress.
Feels like Pam is done with the struggling to stay afloat part of things and has a firm grip on something that is keeping her head above water. She's not quite striking off towards land yet, but if feels like some of the pressure is off at least.
Looking forward to seeing where we go from here.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much! Jim needed to let it out, this was just too much. And yet, he still worries about her because, well, he's still Jim.
Date: May 28, 2021 10:36 am Title: Waking up, the letter, and a savior
Not the walk of shame Pam was hoping for.
I'm glad you brought this back around the consequences for other people here. Pam's actions have an impact far beyond just losing Jim's trust and her career, and that puts her holding back so long in a very different context.
You wrote angry!Jim well! Pam's got some making up for things to do here...
Roy falling for the blonde chick from accounting? Solid reference humor.
Author's Response:
I mean... I wouldn't go as far a writing a Roy/Angela fic (or would I?) but that non-ship might be one of my favs in the entire show!
Thanks so much!
Date: May 27, 2021 09:10 pm Title: Waking up, the letter, and a savior
Ok. I don’t love angry Jim, but I still think his response is appropriate. What I do love is that, in a very Jim manner, he decided not to tell and he’s not letting Pam quit. Even when he’s angry, he’s still looking out for her in a way.
I also dig Roy as a friend and not as the jealous brute he usually is.
Looking forward to more!
Author's Response:
Thanks very much!
Jim hardly ever gets a chance to get really angry. It was nice to let him do it, just this once.
And I think Roy has the potential for being a good guy... only he's in a bad place in the series.
Date: May 22, 2021 05:34 pm Title: A ride, evidence, and all the things she said
So, big moment there to be sure. Pam confessing everything is huge! She's trying so hard to really be honest for once, but by being honest she has to reveal the truth of her role. I get why Jim would be so upset. It's a huge shock to his system to think that this woman who's he's been falling for might have feelings for him and now he can't help but doubt if those feelings were real. Granted she's telling him as such and has the evidence to prove it, but a shocked and suddenly hurt heart rarely sees reason.
So where do we go from here? Does Jim head off for a bit to cool down and really think about what's she's said? Does he spill the beans? Does she spill the beans? Really looking forward to finding out, that's for sure.
Author's Response:
Jim was just making a bold move, kissing a girl that was, supposedly, engaged. And then finding out she's not engaged. And then... well, everything else.
He needs some peace and quiet. And maybe more beer.
THanks for reviewing!
Date: May 22, 2021 12:45 pm Title: A ride, evidence, and all the things she said
Okay, THIS is the updating speed I prefer, thank you for that.
You did a really good job playing with the tropes of this scene to build suspense before the big reveal... you can easily see this all playing out as it often does in fic in Jim's head, all the while he's headed for a vastly different conclusion. Oooof, and then for it to all slip out of Pam's control just as she was about to confess... although you've got to wonder if it would have helped much. This is a serious betrayal. I'm looking forward to seeing how you have them work through it.
Author's Response:
One of the first ideas I had for this fic what that Jim would find that notebook at some point... in one of the first drafts, Pam left it in the office but that was just silly.
And now he's very angry :-)
Date: May 22, 2021 12:45 pm Title: A ride, evidence, and all the things she said
Yeay!! Pam came clean. Jim’s reaction is appropriate, but I hope he can give Pam another chance. Can’t wait to read more
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Jim is reasonably angry but well... he'll have to think some things through :)
Date: May 21, 2021 06:19 pm Title: An opinion, a party, and the thing that should not have happened
You're doing some really interesting things with Pam's sense of her own identity here. Things have flipped - she now feels naturally Pam when the cameras aren't there and acting when they are, and she's engaged in this whole tug-of-war between the real Pam, and the character Pam is *trying* to play and the one she *is* playing and the one the production *wants* her to play. Intruiging.
The production crew putting Jim in the spot of not asking Michael was a nice detail, I thought.
The end of this was a ROLLER COASTER RIDE. And the cliffhanger! I am *very* happy this story is back, and dearly hope you update it soon, because that's a heck of a spot to leave us at.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for reviewing!
This is indeed a journey of self.discovery for Pam. And with Jim added to the mix, things are just confusing and difficult.
I never liked Jim not asking Michael. I understand it, but he was a bit of a jerk. So, I kinda saved him here. Just this once.
Well, as you saw, the next chapter is up, the one after that is almost ready and I even might finish this story *gasps*.
Cheers!

So,so glad you came back to this story. An AU that has been done before with different degrees of sucess. Your take has been wonderfully done. Please try not to let it get thrown to the side.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much!
I've only read one take similar to this, and it' credited in the first note. I hope I can make it justice.
Date: May 20, 2021 11:54 pm Title: An opinion, a party, and the thing that should not have happened
Glad to see you and this story back. Quite interesting to see Pam's head space here. She's clearly still uncomfortable in her role. Pretending to be someone she's not like this and all the while her feelings for Jim just keep growing.
I like that Jim turns to her for advice. Clearly he still wants to be involved with her even if she kind of shut him out. Nice to see their friendship is getting back on track there.
Really kind of fun there in the party. I 100% get that it would take a couple beers for her to relax and have fun. With everything she knows going on behind the scenes, yeah it would take a little booze for her to calm down. However her "losing" her coat was a lot of fun. And the extra beer just sent her over the edge. This is a big thing of course and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Is now the time for Pam to spill the beans? How will Jim react? This is getting good.
Author's Response:
Thanks so much for keeping the faith in this story. I am glad I came back to it bc It's fun to write.
Cheers!

Welcome back!!! Great chapter. I really hope Pam does come clean to Jim before things get even more complicated

KURI YOU'RE BACK! YAY! For you and MaryESP both!
...I'm actually on deadline, so I will give you a real review later, but YAY!
Author's Response:
YAY! So nice to read you!
Yeah, home office, home schooling 2 kids and life in general took my creativity away. But I'm back and I hope this time I'll get to finish The Actress :-)
Good luck with your deadline!

I think it makes sense. The real Pam had Roy. He wasn't great, but they obviously had some good times together.

Si glad you brought this story back! In excited to read if Pam comes clean to Jim before things get too complicated

I never hated Brian in this story for getting with Pam. Last chapter and the start of this one she's lonely and a little confused. However it feels like she gets some needed perspective here. Brian being away for a couple weeks probably helped in that regard.
One thing I did find interesting was you hitting on an aspect of acting. Namely how the actors partner thinks about them having a romantic relationship on camera. Nice bit of realism there.
Through it all Pam is seeing she's got more and more real feelings for Jim. She's still struggling with that though considering everything going through her head.
However good for her to end things with Brian when she realizes that their fling is just that, a fling. It feels like she wants something more than that. Looking forward to seeing how she goes about that.
