EPIC FIST PUMP FOR THE CALL BACKS BRILLIANTLY TO THIS EPISODE AND THE EARLIER TIMES PAM WAS PART OF THE PRANK PLANNING!!!!
What an ABSOLUTELY marvelous and enjoyable story to read!!
Author's Response: Thank you. It was a lot of fun to bring in all those pranks. Same with showing some more depth of Jim and Pam's relationship. Glad you liked it and thanks for all the reviews.

I absolutely love the patter you write. It flows so well, I felt like a fly on the wall of a wonderful married couple who genuinely works together in partnership.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. When Jim and Pam are at their best, they're really a great couple. There's some stuff from my own marriage woven in here too so that's fun to bring in as well.

Awwww a smidge of preview of the little heartaches that come when Scranton is no longer a good fit for him. Adore the Mr Roger’s reference … so perfectly calling out both HIS cardigans and all of Pam’s!
Author's Response: Yeah kind of a call forward from a call back. Glad you liked the extra details as well.

Awwww!!! I love that. The haughtiness of people who think comics, audiobooks and fanfiction aren’t ‘reading’ is infuriating!!! This was perfectly said.
What a fabulous reset moment, reconnecting Jim with the office happenings and the finer things club by sharing his finer things!
Author's Response: Reading is reading. Granted we have a wealth of outstanding stories here on MTT so that helps. It was fun to have Jim recover from his early Finer Things snafu as well.

This may be my favorite chapter (have to see how the other shape out of course) but… the sweetness of Dwight & Pam friendship is always my favorite and I adore the blending of him being supportive to her while Jim is away. Then the bonus gift of Jim bringing Cece… absolutely priceless.
Author's Response: The Dwight/Pam relationship is really a great one. His soft spot for her. Her ability to see the good in him. It's all wonderful. Glad I could bring that out. Jim showing up at work is just the icing on the cake.

Eeyore may be becoming the star of this enjoyable story. Baby-bunny ESP is a delightful thought.
I get a silly giggle out of combining Journals of Stay at Home Dad with the canon Jim of “I’m not helping, unless it is a boy” joke. So funny to see both being true in the same person.
Author's Response: Glad you like Eeyore. His real life counterpart has slowed down considerable since the time of writing, but he's still a good bun. Really glad you're enjoying all this. I recall that real life experience as a test of patience and my olfactory nerve.

Air fist pump and the return of Jonathan!!!
And, I totally giggle because I use that same ‘detritus of our lives’ phrasing with clients all the time ;)
What a cute aside to show Pam having a spot of fun at work while able to relax knowing Jim had company and assistance at home.
This story is just SO much fun!
Author's Response: That's the fun thing about a shared universe of stories. Lots of chances for repeat characters to show up. Great fun to also show how quick Pam's wit is as well.

Ok, you make me miss Applebees… hahaha!!!
How sweet, the little
Moments of mundane life, the ‘good stuff’ that too many people do not treasure and understand. Most people think holidays or flashy vacations. No. This, this is the good stuff.
Author's Response: We all know what Pam thinks about ordinary things. It's nice to slow down and enjoy those moments for sure.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! ETHAN AND EMILY ARE BACK!!!!!! I mean, I was enjoying the silly turn of Jim’s prankster/joking creativity into the daily journal posts… but you brought back the fun of Ethan & Emily and even that Ethan is now part of the prancing fun! And, what a scene… makes me long for days when I enjoyed and had spiritual community. So sweet and kind.
Author's Response: It's the fun of creating a shared universe of stories, other characters can flit in and out of the tale like this to make it more real. Pranks are how we keep things fun in the First Responder world. If one gets pranked it's usually because that person's been accepted in the group and we know they're a quality person. Which also means ideas for other pranksters like Jim can flow easily too.

FABULOUS!!!!!
While I have enjoyed the last few chapters, this one bringing all three together for the entirety was so sweet! The kindness and planning of a mundane care task done together is so deeply sweet. And, Jim got a whoop of a apporval from me when he said what I was thinking! BACK OFF lady! And ABSOLUTELY kudos the mommas!!
Author's Response: Don't mess with Papa Bear Jim. He'll make sure to protect what's important. Jim just reaching out to the pushy woman was how my younger sister dealt with people who just reached for her without permission when she was pregnant. She said it usually worked too.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! Science and Dwight and Pam playing pranks remotely with Jim!!!!! SOOOOO GOOD!!!
Author's Response: Glad you liked it. It took a fair bit of research to come up with all that, but it was fun.

Oh my word this is such a fun and silly story to lose myself in. The mix of moments of playful banter, love and affection are so marvelous. Glimpses in to what most would see as mundane or ordinary. . . But is that the point?
Author's Response: That is exactly the point Some quiet domestic moments we never got to see much of in the show.

Awwww… Thai felt a little like one of those ‘off days’ we heard them talk about. Not connecting, but still manintaininbg the connection with the little back and forth moments of texts and journals. How marvelously sweet!
Author's Response: There's going to be a lot of those kinds of moments as this story goes on. But yeah, sometimes partners only get a few precious seconds to connect.

Hands flapping in happiness, heart ready to go… this is going to be a lovely little part of Jamie & Morgan’s story.
Great start, adore all the little additional flavors to make the Halpert’s life at home more rich. We didn’t get to see much of them once Cece arrived, the canon plot didn’t do all that much aside from the occasional mention and the Christening. So this is a very welcome addition!
Author's Response: Okay so this is already taking me back. Both to when I first started the whole journal thing and then to when I wrote this story. Glad you're enjoying it so far.

Honestly, Megadesk was one of Dwight's better moments. I'm kinda with him on this one.
This was a really fun journey! Thanks for letting us join you on it.
Author's Response: Megadesk did look like a lot of fun no doubt. Though Jim's deconstruction of it was equally entertaining.
Glad you found your way to this one. Thanks as always for your reviews. Glad you liked it all.

Ugh. What an unbelievable mess parental leave is in this country.
Author's Response: AMEN!! We need better things in this country.
Date: July 11, 2021 02:32 pm Title: Day 12
*sigh* See, hearing that every time it comes up over the course of multiple years just might lead your wife to believe you MEAN IT, JAMES.
Author's Response: They'll get there eventually, but it's still a sweet moment for them.
Date: July 11, 2021 02:32 pm Title: Day 11
Glad to see a little follow-up on the Finer Things Club debacle here... always curious to me, because Jim seems like he'd be a reader, if maybe not a reader of the classics. Thought this was a good bit of perspective of what might have been going on behind the scenes there.
Author's Response: One of the great things about fanfic, fixing the mistakes of canon. Glad you liked it.
Date: July 11, 2021 02:31 pm Title: Day 10
Sigh. Poor Pam just doesn't really have the sales gene, does she? Glad she's at least getting some of the benefits of being desk-neighbors with Dwight. I would love to read a similar post-sales call analysis from him.
I'm glad to see Jim able to tell, subconsciously, that Pam could use some family time here...
Author's Response: Pam is many things, but a top level saleswoman sadly is not really one of them. Still it was fun to bring out some of the Pam/Dwight friendship here.

Lol. Neither parenting nor pet ownership is a job for the squeamish. At least the small humans learn to take care of themselves after a while.
Author's Response: Honestly at this point the rabbit is doing a better job of going where he needs to that either kid. But we'll get there, eventually.
Date: July 10, 2021 04:04 pm Title: Day 8
Jonathan sighting! Excellent. And I'm glad Jim is getting help with the mulch. He's not so much with the taking it easy while injured, I guess.
Pam's vault gag is inspired. So many different directions you can take that in.
Author's Response: When I first wrote the Journals it was during the tail end of winter. So my chore was shoveling the driveway. As this is set in the spring I had to have some other outdoor work for Jim. Which provided a way to bring Johnathan back in. Always fun messing with Dwight.
Date: July 10, 2021 01:19 pm Title: Day 7
This was just adorably domestic.
Author's Response: Jim and Pam deserve a day of just being a family. No cameras, no pranks, just them and Cece. Glad you liked it.
Date: July 10, 2021 01:13 pm Title: Day 5
Strangers are very weird about babies and pregnant women. Jim does seem like the kind of dad who would not react well to it. Live and learn, lady.
Author's Response: Yeah, you don't want to mess with Papa Bear Jim.
Date: July 10, 2021 01:12 pm Title: Day 6
Nice to see Ethan again. Also, poor Dwight. He'll never know what hit him.
Author's Response: Yeah, a creative duo like Jim and Pam could come up with tons of uses for the medical lube we carry on the truck.
Date: July 10, 2021 01:12 pm Title: Day 3
Ha! You did a good job of capturing both the adorableness of Cece and Eeyore and the real challenges of parenting in this one.
Author's Response: Thanks. It's still a challenge, but fun for the most part because yes the kids and the rabbit are very adorable.
